  1. The forum appears to have swallowed my answer after the migration that seems to have been performed (I preferred the older look). Anyway. Happy to have been of service to you. 😃 I didn’t do anything really special but I've just opened your pictures with the NIK suite color efex, then performed a removing color cast and adding after that a white neutralizer , then gave a manual color correction with pixelmator (can be done with many different features of this or any other program). I have to say that I was rather convinced this was a mistaken setting otherwise I wouldn’t normally suggest a different “ interpretation”. My experience with these things is that they are rather sensitive. I sometimes see pictures posted with a clear superabundant color or sharpening that produces such visible artifacts and noise that should be hyper evident to the poster, wom apparently is not only unaware of his exaggerated correction but cannot even see what he has done. I have also seen people being rebuffed for daring to suggest that said excessive corrections are less than desirable so I won’t do that.
  2. see my comments on the white balance ion other threads.
  3. same thing of the other pic, I have the feeling your color temperature settings are off. Quick and dirty correction applied here too.
  4. Perhaps you should check your color temperature setting? A few pics that I’ve seen of tour recent trip to the NL are very blue. I juts made a quick and dirty correction
  5. No the camera cannot do this automatically or overcome the laws of physics , so you would have to learn the pricnicple of depth of focus and read the scale (shown in the display) wich tell you the “ in focus” area interval at any given place corresponding to the aperture.
  6. I had a similar situation when shooting the moon with the same lens. I did focus in manual mode too but the pictures wouldn’t focus either.
  7. you focussed in manual focus?
  8. I suppose Patrick, when you write Breaking that you mean " Breaking News"
  9. wear an eye patch, very dapper I am, serious, someone I knew had this problem and filmen on his Arriflex this way. Fuji is not going to change its design to fit a minority need. I am sure the designers considered this and many more other things (how about those who would like to hold the camera and shoot with the left hand? or those with only the left hand?) and discarded this idea like all the camera designers that have engaged with a reflex design for years and years and years. Alternatively use the LCD as viewfinder
  10. good example of the keyboard being faster than the mind. general instructions: “ Before you operate any machinery make sure that the brain is switched on!”
  11. no the pictures won’t “ look” any sharper that the monitor that you are visualizing the images with (I doubt that you own a monitor with a resolution so high that you can see the difference ) you will be just able to print bigger. As for “ looks”: uploading raw images is not the best way to judge sharpness because you can’t see a raw image, what you see is the embedded low res jepeg in a raw picture generated by the visualization software or raw converter. THat’s why they are not as sharp as you” thought” they would be, because they aren’t and can’t be.
  12. I am still not in need to replace my X-T1 and as promised to myself, I will only do that when the camera stops working. THEN This camera (or its successor) will be a good candidate for replacement. It looks like it has everything that I would be needing and I don’t have particular hangups about the type of sensor. Size is a problem. I have never particularly enjoyed handling small cameras. Back in the day it was a reason for me not to like the Olympus and prefer Contax (among the many cameras that I have owned) or Nikon. If a model lives long enough and is sold in sufficiently large numbers, it will always have some sort of third party grip which somehow seems to defeat the purpose of the makers striving for ever smaller cameras. I don’t really need, per se, a “ reflex” look camera as long as I have an electronic viewfinder of sufficient quality and size, but the width and thickness is really what gives the “ feel” of a camera.
  13. Zeiss has worked with Fuji to make their two lens and pays Fuji a royalty. The same would happen if they would want anyone else to do it , but they don’t want to. However several small companies have realized autofocus adapters for several systems. So this is NOT a really difficult task for any company making lenses to integrate this in a lens but they are not interested or have maybe reached an non competition agreement with Fuji.
  14. you can adapt Nikon lenses directly to Fuji. The choice is huge, I’d recommend K&F they are very well made and inexpensive https://www.kentfaith.com/KF06.101_nikon-to-fuji-x-mount-adapter Should you want a Nikon to Fuji lens turbo ( in my opinion not useful in macro work) this is also there http://www.zyoptics.net/product/zhongyi-lens-turbo-adapters-for-fuji-x-mount-cameras-fx/ Being the 60mm a macro lens the loss of autofocus in macro use is not such a bad thing There are some brands with prototypes of adapters for several systems to be used with AF retention I find them very expensive this is a contax to fx adapter (for example)
  15. if you mean to use the silent mode as in using the electronic shutter (otherwise the mechanical shutter would always have a sound ) watch this
  16. I remember the stamp New and Improved as a stunt in the early decades of the last century to sell things
  17. I think that Zeiss cut a deal with Fuji and actually FR har Rico Pfirstinger write some place here that they were “ invited” to transform a lens they already had in the oven. https://www.fujirumors.com/zeiss-touit-vs-fujinon-xf/ In other words the only reason Zeiss was involved is because they pretty much were given every possible support to transform lenses they already had in the pipeline into fuji mount and probably Fuji did the mount for them so there was little to do for Zeiss. In fact the Zeiss lenses might really be a joint venture with Fuji... “......But why did Fuji go along with it and invite a formidable competitor like Carl Zeiss into their home, not only offering full technical support and cooperation, but even co-marketing the Touit lenses? I know the real answer but don’t want to spill the beans just yet, so let’s just say that Fujifilm is making money with each X-Mount Touit lens that’s sold. They also like the Zeiss brand’s premium image and the resulting image transfer to the Fuji brand. After all, Panasonic also loves to put a Leica logo on their cameras and MFT lenses...." Now, this would be a completely different predicament for a different arrangement for independent makers who would have to do the entire development on their own... unless they would pay their dues to Fuji ( which might happen in future) but only if they were to make a lens that fuji does at a cheaper price ( and still make money out of it).
  18. they don’t have an adapter for Fuji hot shoe so, no, I’d say it is not compatible if you want to fire with all the automatisms of the camera https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/New-48-pcs-RF-550D-Macro-LED-Ring-Flash-Light-for-NIKON-Canon-Olympus-DSLR-Cameras/1908808445.html
  19. well, I actually find it very nice looking (I’ll see what it feels like). Not only, looks aside, the price is rather incredible if that includes the lens too (we shall see in my country how much that will be). This camera, with its “ reflex look” pleases my eye. I don’t really have any opinion on how this sensor performs but I am pretty sure that it won’t disappoint. Again, I will only change my X-T1 when it stops working. I have not yet had any reason to think about a replacement BUT if there needs be one, this could be it.
  20. as most times happens we’ve already spoken about this topic other times. There are 3 types of adapters, with electrical aperture, with mechanic “ post lens” aperture, no aperture at all. The electric aperture ones are expensive and somewhat clumsy, the mechanical “ post lens “ aperture ( outside the lens), don’t produce much depth of field increase and really quite quickly start vignetting (I have one). Then you have adapters without aperture, albeit with or without focal reducer. Be aware that some Canon lenses won’t work at all on fuji because they are focus by wire lenses.
  21. I am pretty sure that you cannot “ select” all the focus points at the same time (what would you be selecting?) on your X-T20. In any case not in my X-T1. there are many manuals and video tutorials. https://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-X-T20-X-Pert-Tips-Camera/dp/168198282X
  22. yes, the X-T1 had the same problem apparently. https://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/4497-xt1-bottom-screws-for-tripod-mount/ https://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/1927-tripod-screw-disappeared/ the X Pro 2 too https://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/5231-tripod-mount-socket-screw/ I never had any problem on my camera, probably because I have always used an L bracket? You can find the screws at Fuji ( read the posts in the threads above, I’ve suggested direct contact with head office since local Fuji repair labs can get VERY greedy! Read the posts) but also any store that sells things for fine mechanics should have them.
  23. do you need the 24Mp? I doubt it. The race to a larger Pixel count makes very little sense, to me. This is of course a widely unpopular viewpoint and you will NO doubt hear that ( often times from people who never print any larger than 30 x 40 cm) that to shoot their kinds or the flowers in the back garden it is absolutely paramount to have as many pixels as possible, just in case you would want to crop to 1/4 size of the image or to print to lager than 2m on the long side although they only ever watch their images on their laptop or tablet. Look at this video. so.... I have a X-T1 and I have not seen ANY reason to buy any larger Mp count sensor . I will only buy another camera when my camera breaks down and it has been serving me for nearly 5 years now.
  24. it is not so much in the circular image that you would find this useful but rather more in the angle of view. But it takes all sorts. If that is your favorite then it is. good luck
