  1. I love my X-T20. It’s the best camera I’ve ever bought - except for one thing: since I bought it 15 months ago I’ve had to have the sensor cleaned three times. Previously, I’ve had a LUMIX G3 and G6 and never had to get them cleaned at all. I know getting the sensor cleaned is an occupational hazard for mirrorless camera owners but I don’t use this camera any more than those, so have I just been unlucky or is there something about the design of the X-T20 that makes it particularly vulnerable to dust and dirt?
  2. We had a nice weekend in CO, so the family headed off to the Zoo. Denver Zoo
  3. Hello Guys My name is Amir, I'm a Photographer from Iran. I recently Joined this Community because I need your advice or opinion on a situation here. I'm a film shooter and recently I decided to buy a Fujifilm X Camera. I mainly do Landscapes, along with some portraits and street. I'm on a tight budget (roughly 1100$) and new Fuji products are very expensive here! (more than their normal price worldwide!) so I'm not in a good financial position to buy a Fuji X-T2... But recently I came across two options here. one is a brand new Fujifilm X-T1+18-55 kit lens around 800$ price tag (special offer) and the other one is a used X-T20+18-55 kit lens (roughly 2000 shots) around 950$. Depending on my needs, which one do you suggest? I'm planning to go with it for a minimum of 3 years so its a crucial choice for me here and also the weather sealing is a real deal breaker for me. what do you suggest? what should I do?
  4. I'd like to be able to film night scenes with bright objects in them - exposure compensation is absolutely required. Yet it seems to be disabled in movie mode on the X-T20. Can't find an explanation in the user manual. Can anyone tell me if it's possible? Thanks!
  5. I'm a new X-T20 user . I found a most bookmarked thread in a forum suggesting picture profile settings inorder to gain rough RAW preview to facilitate ETTR. There was a reply saying this can be simply achieved by turning off the "picture preview effect" under display settings . But there was also a counter message saying it wouldn't work and it said to use your desired simulation (with settings if you want). do a test (by increasing) and find out the safe +EV range you can recover. I usually use exposure preview off with highlight clipping alert in order achieve ETTR. But some time I find although clipping warning doesn't come in evf, in post things are blown out and they can't be recoverable. Now I use 1/3 under than clipping highlight warning with "pic effect preview" turned off. Still I'm not confident. Which method do you use to achieve ETTR? Can you tell me if you are using provia simulation in x-t20 how many stops are recoverable in post? If you tried picture preview effect off method along with high light clipping option like me to get EETR how it is working for you? Thanks in advance
  6. Hi Everyone, I am hoping the Fuji veterans here can offer suggestions to a problem I have with the Mount Adaptpr setting on the X-T20. For lenses 5 and 6, I can set the Focal Length. However, the Distortion, Color Shading, and Peripheral Illumination Correction options are (unshaded) disabled. Firmware v2.0 is installed and the Shoot Without Lens is On. What have I missed?
  7. Do you know what is happening with the proposed XF 8-16mm lens? It’s still on the roadmap for about February and we’re now in May.
  8. Hey! In August I was travelling through Portugal for good 3 weeks with my recently acquired Fuji X-T20 and the Fuji 14mm F2.8, Fuji 23mm F2.0 and the Fuji 56mm F1.2. Hope you enjoy the photos 1.Faro 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
  9. Hi, is there any way other way how to switch back to movie AF mode called "Multi" once you touch display than digging into the menu? Is there any way how to toggle between movie AF modes while recording? I love multi AF mode in 4k video, who needs face detection with that? But once in the while i need to tell to camera where is my subject of interest or do some focus pulling. So i touch the display and movie AF mode is switched to AREA. There is no way how to switch back to MULTI while recording? Thanks for your reactions! Best Regards, Miloslav Stibor
  10. I'm quite happy about annoucement of new update for X-T20, however there are few things that I'm really missing and some updates could add some of those in future. For instance: 1. Add histogram to video mode. 2. Add mic-level preview in video mode. 3. Customization of front dial. 4. Faster response of sensor in EVF + eye sensor mode. 5. Ability to wake up camera by press different button than shutter-release button (sometimes it wakes camera and also take picture immediately). 6. Smaller horizontal line, less disturbing during shooting. 7. More sensitive camera position sensor. Sometimes menu wont turn to portrait mode after turn camera in that angle. 8. Ability to add vignette effect in JPG's, like grain or saturation. What do you think is still missing and could be added or fixed? Thanks.
  11. Can you recommend an ultra wide prime x-mount lens; preferably 8 or 10mm. However I want to have fully functioning auto focus, exposure and aperture. Does such a thing exist? It seems that my only real option is the XF 10-24mm zoom. Any help would be much appreciated.
  12. Hi tldr; upgraded to X-T20 from X-T10. Am disappointed with results, images not sharp. About a week or so ago I upgraded from my X-T10 to an X-T20. I set it up exactly the same way as my X-T10, with the same Custom Settings, ISO values, etc etc, so that the only difference between the two cameras is the hardware. Both lenses and cameras are updated with the latest firmware. Using the same three lenses I used on the X-T10 (27mm, 35mm f2 and 16-50mm kit lens) and the same custom settings I noticed from the few test shots that I have taken so far that most of the images from the X-T20 output is just not sharp. They're blurry around the edges, dull colours and waxy skin on subjects. Comparing the same image taken using the X-T10 (same settings, same subject, using the self-timer to ensure my shaky hands are not a factor) they're much sharper. One thing I did notice straight away: mounting the lenses on the X-T20 is not exactly smooth and requires a little more force than what I am used to on the X-T10. Possible my old camera had this too, I can't recall, but it is noticable. Could this be a cause? That the lenses are not quite flush or too tight, or too loose, or ... or .. I will update this post with images later on, but to get the discussion moving I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
  13. TLDR; user can't figure out how "Touch panel operation when using the EVF" works Ok, so got my new X-T20 last night, got it all set up (having had to go on YouTube to figure out how the back button focus works on this camera as compared to my X-T10, aaarggh. Why doesn't the wee square turn green when it's capture the focus like my X-T10 did .. ), updated to the new firmware 1.11, and am mad excited about the ability to use the touch panel operation when using the EVF. However, having tried all the various settings and possibilities, it just will not work. I have activated the touch screen on/off => ON EVF Touch Screen Area Settings => ALL tried using the various view modes, without expected result. I expect that when this is set up correctly, that looking through the viewfinder and touching the lcd screen, the focus points move in the viewfinder also. Is this assumption correct?
  14. So, I bought an X-T20 just over a month ago. I live in the Middle East and it's not easy to come by accessories here, so I had to do a lot of research on what I might need. I read reviews online, watched You-Tube videos and searched the net. One of the biggest bugbears that people seem to have with the X-T10 and 20 is the small hand grip. There appeared to be three solutions that would suit or assist me. - The Hand Grip - A hand strap - A thumb rest It seemed to me that all three would be useful in one way or another, so I bought a secondhand Fuji MHG-XT10 Hand Grip on eBay, a Peak Design Clutch Hand Strap from Wex Cameras and a hot shoe mounted thumb rest from China. The attached photo shows the thumb rest and hand strap...
  15. I'm just getting into photography, bought my first mirrorless today. Snagged an X-T20 kit with the 18-55mm from a local shop, and I was super stoked. The store is very reputable. I was using the camera for a few hours tonight and it was fine, but then randomly after changing it to High Performance mode, I was using the touch screen to focus, and the camera locked up with the green focus light blinking with the LCD still working. Even flipping the on-off didn't shut down the camera, and I had to remove the battery in order to turn it off. Now the camera does this every time I even try to focus, whether it be pressing the shutter release or touching the screen. Sometimes the screen completely locks as well and other times the screen + sensor is still active but locked. Nothing seems to resolve the issue: I have reformatted the SD card, reset all the settings I think I am able to, and nothing seems to change. I'm quite frustrated. I had updated all of the firmware (body + lens) before ever using the camera. Any ideas on what the issue may be??? I feel like my best bet is to just bring it back to the store, but this was their last kit, so I'm pretty bummed.
  16. Hi all! I recently got my new X-T20 and now i´m looking for a suitable flash. After looking around for hours I cannot find any device thats is explicitly declared as fully compatible. I like the nissin i40, Meike MK320 because of the compact size. But I read somewhere that the Meike is not working with the X-T20. Does anybody know any compatible flash? Thanks philippe
  17. Hi all, Photography is my hobby for a few years now. Before now I used the Canon eos 600D from my Grandmother, because I never had the money to buy my own camera. This semester (I'm an exchange Student from Germany) I also take a photography class in my High School. And now I really want my first own camera. After comparisons I decided to buy the Fuji X-T20. (My Hostdad bought an used X-T1, since then I’m in love with Fuji Cameras) The Prices here and in Germany are almost the same so i probably wait until I go back, but I have one big question left: I don’t know which kit I should buy. In Germany I could get the Fuji X-T20 with the 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 for 1199 €. But I could also get the 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 plus the 50-230mm f4.5-6.7 for 1199 €. Now my question: which Kit should I buy? Is the 18-55mm really so much better or should I get the Kit with two lenses? I also want to buy a prime lense, that would be a little bit later then. Maybe the 35mm or 50mm f2.0. (I would be happy about suggestions for the first lens I should buy after the Kit lens!)
  18. I'm considering upgrading my trusty X-T1, and I'm strongly considering the X-T20 over the X-T2 due to the cost savings. I'm not going to miss the better video, as I don't shoot video. I don't think I'm going to miss the weather sealing. I am a little concerned about the smaller EVF. Anybody else made this move? thoughts? thanks!
  19. Hi, Support of Fuji's compressed raw files has just been added to Rawtherapee 5.0, you can download a build for Windows 64 bits here: https://filebin.net/exoqih33dsopv02q It's preliminary support, in case you encounter problems, feel free to file a bug report on github (read how to write a useful bug report). Support of the coming GFX 50S is almost there too. -Sébastien
