Yep. The background was 100 meters away and the lens was on the minimum fockusing distance.The published picture is a resized sooc jpeg.

the 18-55 (at 55 and 2.8) is perfectly capable of very enhanced bokeh in these circumstance

Huh? Mine only does f4 at 55mm! You're thinking of the 16-55, right?

yes, typo... , no 18-55 at full aperture ( at 55 is indeed 4) and that’s the result, anyway.

 

Plenty of Bokeh at full aperture (2.8 at 18 and 4 at 55)

Just have received  MC Rokkor 58mm F1.2 and the first test shot impressed me. The distance to background objects only 15 cm.
