Wasn't the x-pro2 announced in January and for sale in March?
-
I think you are right.
-
I think you misunderstood my post entirely. I have listed it with specs that we will probably (most likely) see in the x-t2, then what we hopefully will see in the x-t2 and then what I don't really care about seeing ported to the x-t2 :-) - The x100t has a ND filter, but shutter speed is only as fast as 1/4000 sec. (never mind the electronic shutter), so given that the x-t2 will get the 1/8000 sec. shutter speed of the x-pro2 this remedies the lack of ND filter, so you can shoot with open lenses in sunlight. - No, you are misinformed. The 4.0 firmware changed the x-t1 from +2.5EV to +0.5 EV. The x-pro2 is even better with its -3.0EV - I don't see why the x-t2 should get any bigger. The x-pro2 got bigger than the x-pro1 because of the added weather sealing. - You may be right about the 4K heat issue, but I think Fujifilm will prefer to keep the size as is as opposed to fattening the x-t1 solely because of 4k video. - Is Acros limited to the x-pro2? Why?
-
Why I would wait for an x-t2 as opposed to getting a cheap x-t1: Probably because... - It will have 1/8000 mechanical shutter. Almost as good as my beloved ND Filter on the x100t - New sensor & New processor. And thereby better high iso handling, better resolution, more PDAF (and based on x-pro 2 reviews, more punchy - aka better looking - images). - Faster AF in low light. -3 EV vs. 0.5 EV - Acros - Maybe it will have the joystick from x-pro 2. If so, please don't make the body bigger because of it. - Dual card slots. Hopefully because... - Upgraded EVF with higher resolution and perhaps even magnification. Not so much because... - 4K video. I really don't care. - If they change the form factor, look or feel of the camera. The ISO dial is just fine as is. All in all new tech that Fujifilm will improve upon via firmware update for years to come.

Yes, I just got an iPhone SE with 4k video that the phone is not even able to play in full res on its own display, nor does anyone incl. myself own a 4k tv or a 4k computer display. 4k is overkill in a Fujifilm camera which excells at still photography and has never been very good with video in the first place. I would rather stick with 2k and better video quality as well as perhaps slow motion.

The x-t1 was updated with firmware 4.0, so it was able to focus in 0.5 EV bettered from 2.5 EV. I own the x100t with its 0.5 EV capability, and its low light focus capability is not exactly impressive. The xpro2 is born with the ability to focus in -3.0 EV, which by comparison sounds amazing, but what does the EV spec actually translate to in real life?
-
Back focusing? I thought that was "impossible" with mirrorless cameras.

Thanks. I am a bit surpirised that you don't consider the 2.0 that much faster than the 1.4. I thought the difference was much more pronounced.

Hi, I have an x100t with the TCL-x100, and the combo is (really!) great for still shots, however trying to keep up with my kids is another story. Set to zone focus, high performance ON, face detection OFF and Focus priority, it feels like the camera is almost there, but just not fast enough, so I miss a lot of shots. So, I know I am in the x-t1 forum, should I be able to get better results with an x-t1 and 35mm 2.0 WR combo? Are the 4.0 firmware improvements, as well as the new lens just the thing that leaves the x100t in the dust?

Let's not forget what started the whole Fujifilm Kaizen frenzy. The x100! All though I don't consider that update Kaizen love, but more a nescessary move from Fujifilm, I think that is the reason Fujifilm customers were/are expecting x100s and x100t to receive Kaizen love updates. So when I owned the x100s and no Kaizen love came that way, and Fujifilm then went on record stating that there would never be a Kaizen love update for the x100s, I sold my copy and bought the x100t, thereby getting all the updates (and more) I was hoping would come to the x100s via firmware. The x100 series cameras are not exactly cheap cameras, and in my mind the x100 is THE camera that started Fujfilms road to mirrorless success, so why not reward the x100 customers with some serious Kaizen love?
-
The new sensor and processor obviously (and thereby even better iso performance, AF performance and no more waxy skin jpegs) Maybe the joystick? Maybe click/lock style shutter/iso wheel (so you can keep it unlocked without holding down the pin in the middle)? Higher refresh rate in EVF? Hopefully better 4-pad controller. Like x100t. Hopefully the ability to focus better in low light (EV) like x-pro2 Hopefully not the ISO dial from x-pro2!!! And I don't care one bit about 4k. 2k is fine. Otherwise I really do not hope they change to much besides sensor and processor. In my book x-t1 is near perfection, so a refined update is all I need.

Fujifilm would gain a more positive word of mouth. Alot of x100 owners feel short changed compared to Fujifilms other camera models because the x100 models have never received any Kaizen love. Also, as flysurfer stated, it would boost sales until the x200 sees the day of light. As for manuals they could easily reuse the AF modes manual from the x-t10 and just revise the current manual.
-
Well, now the x70 is out with the AF wizardry ported from x-t1 and x-t10 it seems rather logic to me that x100t should receive an upgrade. Otherwise it will be inferior to its younger brother. But, for some reason Fujifilm has never made a kaizen love update for the x100 series. I for one would love: The new AF modes. Faster, more accurate AF. Auto macro when using zone focus.

Seawater on x-t1 - how to clean?
petergabriel replied to petergabriel's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
Okay, sounds pretty straight forward. Thanks. -
From reading different comments around this forum I seem to have come to the conclusion that most find the 4-way buttons better than on the black model, as well as some stating that the weather sealing fault with the plastic door on the black model is not an issue on the graphite model. Do you agree with that?
-
Hi, One thing is to get rain on your WR x-t1, but what do you do if its a splash of seawater with salt and all? How do you clean the camera without holding it under running tap water?
-
I am much more interested in what they could do with updated AF algorithms. I know they have them.

16mm 1.4 WR - faster AF after 4.0 firmware?
petergabriel replied to petergabriel's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
The reviews. Among them this one: http://www.thephoblographer.com/2015/06/03/review-fujifilm-16mm-f1-4-r-wr-x-mount/ But, if you all agree it is no slouch, it will certainly be my next Fujinon glass :-) -
16mm 1.4 WR - faster AF after 4.0 firmware?
petergabriel replied to petergabriel's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
So, no slouch after the 4.0 update? -
Hi, I have read a lot of reviews of the 16mm 1.4 WR which praise it for sharpness, contrast and color. However, Auto Focus they all seem to agree upon, is good, but not exceptional, so e.g. street photography is out of the question. One thing I noticed though, was that all the reviews (that I found) was from before the 29th of June 2015 where Fuji released the 4.0 firmware. So my question is: Has the 4.0 update improved upon the 16mm's AF performance? And: Does the 16mm use a linear motor for AF or an older (slower, more noisy) system?
