  1. The build quality issue is a huge problem with Fuji cameras, we have had the faulty accessory door, the rubber grab falling off all over the camera and dead pixels issues. Would love to get it repaired, but as we are currently working in Brazil there are no Fuji repair centres here... Kinda sucks when your camera is falling apart.... From all of the threads I have read, it seems a very common problem, and one that Fuji just is just not addressing. We did a write up of our finding here :http://blupace.com/reviewing-xt1-1-year-on/ in the hopes that it may assist others in they decision when buying a Fuji camera.
  2. Hi all, I too have recently experienced this issue, and I have to say that it is very disappointing that Fuji will only replace the faulty part with the exact same kind. This issue completely undermines the environmental sealing of the camera, and thus the usage of the device in certain conditions. What is more frustrating is that Fuji will not own up to the issue. As loyal Fuji customers we place a level of trust in the company to provide a product that at the very least meets its advertised standards. I am currently in talks with Fuji technical support, who repeatedly echo the lines of "we know of no known issue, and will deal with problems on an individual basis only". I find this personally very sad, as soon as our individual warranty expires it gives Fuji the right to then charge for any repairs caused by this manufacturing fault. It is an issue that could be easily corrected once they accept the problem. As such I have decided to gather as much data on the prevalence of the issue, once the data has been collected it will be presented to Fuji as evidence of the problem. You can find the data collection form here. http://blupace.com/fuji-xt1-accessory-door-issue/ Kind regards, Pace
  3. Hi all, So i have put together a data collection form here http://blupace.com/fuji-xt1-accessory-door-issue/ Currently Fuji refuses to accept there is any issue right now. When we have collected enough data we will send it all to Fuji as evidence of the problem. Please share this form in any groups that relate to this issue. Kind regards, Pace
  4. After being in contact with Fuji UK, they said that they know of no manufacturing fault at all, and only replace the part with the exact same. They are replacing this for free, but I would certainly like assurances that it will be remedied. I was going to purchase another XT1, but will hold off until this issue can be addressed. To me this seems to be like big issue, and one that undermines the confidence in the product. I have always supported Fuji, but when a company ignores consumer issues then it should be addressed accordingly. I will put together a survey over the next couple of days and post it in all of the relevant fuji groups. Lets see if we can collect enough data to present to Fuji.
  5. The gap that is caused is only about 1mm, if you press on the door you can feel the space, the door now feels like a button that springs back. This would allow water to get into the internals of the camera.
  6. Only by chance today I noticed a serious flaw in the weather sealing on the XT1. The door that covers the Hdmi, USB and mic port, seems to be vulnerable to heat expansion, resulting in the seal becoming compromised. The door no longer closes fully.
  7. OK so if your really asking what I would really like to see in the new upgrade, then here goes:- 1) Changing the Wifi connection so that the camera wifi can be initiated as a wireless hotspot, allowing any computer or device to connect to it with appropiate password. If the WIFI card in the camera can support the AP function then this would just make logical sense. I have never been able to connect the camera to my macbook via external router, but also when I am on location shooting I never really have access to an external router, only my camera and laptop. If a device could connect to the camera and see the card as a storage device, then it would be fairly easy for individuals to write there own scripts to move files to the computer, with the computer doing the processing work. (less overhead on the camera). 2) Support for digital focal zoning - ie, on lenses like the 56mm it would be nice to see a relevant digital focus zone range, that changes with apeture. 3) The ability to place the histogram full screen. It would be nice to have this on the back screen while still being able to look through the EVF without it. 4) Additional customisation of functions - So for example, if I set a function button to face recognition, instead of getting the menu that says ON or OFF, the button could simply act as a switch, 1 press ON, 1 Press OFF. 5) More control over manual focuing sensitivity - The ability to set this. 6) The ability to edit the name of the Custom settings. :-)
  8. Hey all, So ive been following this thread for a while as I too would love tethered shoting on the XT1. Today I found this on youtube. Seems to be shooting tethered straight into lightroom on a mac
