  1. Great samples! Your lens is the same as my zebra version just newer. And YES, it is a Bokeh monster!!! I really love this lens! You get good value for less money. I wonder if the newest version is better than the zebra one?! Who knows... Thanks for sharing!
  2. If XF23mm also means the lens of the X100 series then go for it... For me Street Photography is about getting much of a scene (including many DOF) into the frame and get as close as necessary to the subject. So my answer would be 23mm or even less (XF18). But Street Photography is also about being inconspicious. So according to this my answer definitely is XF27. It's a fact that I sold my 23/1.4 because it was to big for such a focal length. I'd rather go with the X100T or S. Here is a nice video from Matt Hart. He has some nice thoughts about this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK0r4dACJZg. By the way with the option of the two lens converters of the X100 series you're making this camera a bit more versatile.
  3. My Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.C.C. has arrived :D Here is one of my very first snapshots. I really love the gorgeous Bokeh !!!! Clothesline Bokeh by KwyjiboVanDeKamp

  7. Me too! It is perfect for jpegs and very simple to use!!!!! Here is an example. Took a very flat shot and processed (a bit) in Zoner: (left unedited, right Zoner) Here is the whole edited shot: https://flic.kr/p/uJL4go

  10. Just a thought of mine: Why paying 740 € for a manual focus f/4.5 slow lens when you can have a very similiar lens (according to focal length) with super fast f/1.4 and kinda portrait and macro (15cm min. focus distance) capability for a few bucks more? PLUS: you get WR, AF, LMO... If your answer is weight and compactness... then mine is XF14!!! Even 12 gramms lighter and more than 1 stop faster than the 15/4.5 lens. Even 77 gramms lighter if you also sum the adapter!! So the Voigtländer 15/4.5 seems not to be a big deal for Fuji users except you want a nice and vintage looking lens. Then go for the 15/4.5
  11. Extraordinary great!!!!! I really love this soooo much!
  12. Maybe you already know this thread: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/169-samyang-12mm-f20-ncs-cs-x-mount/ Many interesting sample shots. I'm REALLY happy with my 12mil Walimex/Samyang!! Never want to miss this lens. But I will go for the 16mm too one day.
  13. Look also this thread: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/177-sigma-18-35-f18/ It's about an adapted Nikon-Mount lens.
  14. This might help: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/325-old-lenses-for-dummies/?p=5238 Just ordered this adapter too after reading this post and after watching the video.
  15. I think that many people who shoot street (especially street) are just a bit nostalgic. Many great origin street photographers shot b&w and these pictures were sooooo beautiful!!! So people try to replicate that. And that's good!!! For me black & white photography has its own magical look. I really love the strong contrast between a dark black and a light white. Can't describe it right but I really love it. Here is an example. Not a real street shot but I really like the b&w processing so much!!! Also the added fake grain gives the shot a very nice vintage look! Gone by KwyjiboVanDeKamp But here's also an opposite example what colours can do. Really love the punchy yellow! 16. For some things I use Zoner. But just to edit the great Fuji jpegs a little bit. It's an easy to use program without odds and ends and I really love it. I also like to edit some EXIF informations like the used aperture when shooting with third party lenses.
  17. I also don't trust focus peaking. So I don't use it and just trust my own eye. I just use the magnification. Just an advice for all those who don't want this: Set the focus mode selector from M to S - from manual to single AF. Then it keeps the magnification even when pressing the shutter button half way down.
  18. Here is another but very rare (and expensive) lens for you: Canon FD 24/1.4 http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/fdlenses/24mm.htm Or a FD-mount Vivitar 24/2: http://www.newsshooter.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/vivtar-eos-conversion.jpg
  19. These days I received my Helios 44M-6!! By just taking some simple test shots I can say that this is a great lens!!! And I really had huge expectations cause of owning the awesome and sharp Fujinon EBC 50/1.4 M42! Thanks!!! Now my just ordered Canon FD 50/1.4 S.S.C. has to compete with it OMG I'm addicted to lenses!!!!
  20. Great pictures!!!! Really love the first one and the OOF shot!!!! Unfortunatelly (for us Fuji dudes) these pics are taken on a full frame camera. So I cannot judge the bokeh it will have on an APS-C X-Trans cam! Nevertheless I just ordered the Canon FD 50/1.4 S.C.C. plus the adapter you recommended ! Thanks!!! Hope the lens is as good as my old Fujinon EBC 50/1.4 M42.
  21. GREAT images!!!!! Feel free to post your 135mm pics here too: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/317-135mm-lens-comparison/ My next lens seams to be the FD 50/1.4 S.C.C.! Hope it can compete with the old Fujinon EBC 50/1.4 M42 I already own.
  22. There are at least three options to get a nice bokeh shot. - use a long focal length, e.g. >50mm - get close to the subject (you can also use macro rings/extension tubes or macro lenses to get even closer) and keep a decent distance to the background - use big apertures, e.g. f/1.4 All these three can also be combined. Here you can see how it all works together: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/317-135mm-lens-comparison/ 135mm, f/2.5, 3m subject distance, ~13m background distance
  23. Taking pictures with the X-E2 is like having SƎ-X By KwyjiboVanDeKamp (One of my first shots. Underexposed SOOC.)
