(I know this shot/editing is ugly but I was too lazy to make it better) Hey guys it's me again with another lens comparison test. Did a different one before: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/317-135mm-lens-comparison/ This time I compared three different 18mm lenses Fuji is offering. XF 18mm f/2 (X-E2) X70's 18,5mm f/2.8 XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 (X-E2) The shots are unedited (fine L) Jpegs (SOOC). I just cropped them and stitched them together. The settings of each camera were set to default (0) except the WB (I adjust it manually with a white peace of paper). ISO 200. Provia. Aperture priority. Cause I don't have a tripod that's so low I used a chair where I put the cameras on top so the frame can vary a bit. Sorry for that. Click on each pictures to open and maybe download on Flickr in full resolution. If you have any questions please ask. If you have any complaints about my test please be polite within your criticism. I'm not a pro so this test might be far away from being perfect. Feel free to share some shots/comparisons of your 18mm Fuji lenses. So now I hope you will enjoy my little CD collection (the second and the forth fifth of this rack are covered by a glass door) f/2 center f/2.8 center f/4 center f/5.6 center f/8 center f/11 center f/16 center f/22 center

I actually never used this lens so I can just give you a general advice. If the results with AutoWB are satisfying you then keep it to AutoWB. But if you're not happy with the result try to set the WB manually to your liking/the right white (or edit in post). I used different old 50mm lenses and with each lens I got a different result when AutoWB was set. One lens created more yellow/warm shots, the other was a bit more blue/cold. To make every shot the same colour temperature I had to set the WB manually. The results were way more satisfying to me than with AutoWB and each shot looked similar to the other. Keep in mind that I'm definitely no pro photographer and I shoot 100% Jpeg. It could be usual for a pro to set WB manually or edit the RAW in post. Don't know. For me AutoWB worked really well at least with native XF lenses and I use it for about 95% of my shots. Hope I could help you!

No X-E3 would be very sad!!! I doubt that the X-E2s will sell well. Anyone owning an X-E2 will get the X-E2s by firmware on February 4th. And everyone who wants to step into the Fuji X system will grab the little brother of the DSLR shaped success story (X-T1) - the X-T10. I hope Fuji will do it like they did with X-Pro1 and X-E1 - X-Pro2 > X-E3 (X-T2, X-T20)!!! I won't buy any DSLR-shaped cam. So please Fuji make a smaller HVF-less X-Pro2 - the X-E3! [ And add the X70 screen ]

Hot or not? Silver XF35mmf2 on Black XT1
KwyjiboVanDeKamp replied to andrewlee's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Don't know if it's worth a thread but... ...IMHO it's ugly like hell! Think the silver version of this lens looks a bit cheaply. I would've sent it back and ordered the black version instead. -

I kinda like your interesting photography. Pretty nice.

So why you're still considering? You just wrote down the answer! You need WR - the XF23 doesn't have it - so buy the XF35WR! If WR wasn't a point for you I would've recommended you the XF23 cause of it's lens speed and the wider range.

Zonlai 25mmF1.8 X-mount lens: short review
KwyjiboVanDeKamp replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Seems to be good value for money. Maybe I will buy one. Found some examples (taken by a Sony): https://www.flickr.com/photos/poojee/sets/72157661312832912 -
Not a proof but a clue: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zonlai-35mm-F1-8-DISCOVER-Manual-LENS-for-SONY-NEX-e-mount-Camera-a6000-a5100-/262186386695?hash=item3d0b86c507:g:ZDsAAOSwAKxWanb- Look at the product pictures where the lens is attached to the Sony.

I would prefer the standard tilt screen version! So it's a bit like an old waist-level finder (thus more "stealthy"). If it would be fully-articulating the camera size gets much more wider (at least 3") when using the screen like a waist-level finder. I think the screen from the X-A2 (but 180° down instead of up) would be a nice compromise. Or something crazy like on the Olympus PEN E-PL7: http://www.thephoblographer.com/2014/10/16/review-olympus-pen-e-pl7/
