  1. I think a larger concern for some people who use X-E is that they like to shot in CL mode. When they want to use the flash they have to switch drive back to S mode. It would be nice to at least fire on the first shot. Like other brands.
  2. Glad you figured it out. thanks for the update.
  3. One word: X100.
  4. My statement was based on the competition already in that space in digital. For entire system. Based on Fuji's pricing, I don't expect them to create a bargain camera or lens. http://thenewcamera.com/hasselblad-h5d-50c-vs-phase-one-iq250-vs-pentax-645z/
  5. You sound like a very nice person. That was a very kind thing to offer. I know whenever I meet up with my friends in far away and unfamiliar places they always take me to unique places which have resulted in great photos. The locals always seem to know best. I was in Germany for 4 months on assignment. So many wonderful places and photos. I miss it.
  6. Yes, Zack pretty much nailed it in his review.
  7. Great news for people with $20k burning in their pocket for a new camera system.
  8. I'm going to guess a compact. Something as successor to both x100 and x30.
  9. Maurice, glad we are aligned about IQ of the 10-24 vs the primes and usability in low light for the intended purpose. When you mean size above, do are you talking about both weight and length? or just one of those. I think we have already covered weight difference. So maybe you are talking about length now. I personally don't find either of them to be a problem. Maybe its all relative to what you are used to. To me, I am used to a FF setup and to carry around equiv. setup on my Nikon over vacation was a pain. Literally, not just figuratively. I told myself, never again. Thus I bought an XF system for travel and here I am on this forum. Its a fraction of the weight compared to what I am used to and I don't find the 10-24 to be all that much bigger and heavier than the 18-55 kit zoom. So perhaps, its just expectations and relative comparisons. Would it be fair to say someone does not like the size of the XF23 or XF35 because they are both much bigger and heavier than the XF27 or an X100? I guess you could. Does it really matter? I guess it depends who you ask and their intended purpose. Would you take an X100 or an XF23 and body on vacation based on size and weight? The difference here in weight and length with XF23 on X body vs X100 is more than the difference between XF14 and XF10-24 btw. Just trying to show relatives here to contrast. Would you take just the X100 for vacation or would you take something a bit larger and heavier for the sake of versatility? I hope you can see where I am going with this.
  10. I don't have either the XF56 or XF90. However, on my FF Nikon camera for portraits I use my 85 a lot more than my 135. If you want to start off with only one, I would get the 56 (i.e. 85ish in FF FoV) first.
  11. good luck ellie2011, Here is a focal length simulator from Nikon to allow you to compare 16 vs 18. Pick the DX button for Fuji equivalent crop factor. http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/lens/simulator/
  12. amazing timing on this one.. with the kids & ice cream.
  13. not sure it works that way. I wish it did however. Thats like saying they can add more firmware features to the current x-t1 firmware, as they are doing with FW 4.0, and expect price of the x-t1 to go up. It won't. What happens instead is the ones which don't get the firmware, the price goes down even further due to the expanded functional gap. IF you release the firmware to X100S, then more likely the secondary market price of the x100t will go down because the x100s would have less separation from the x100t than it does now. Causing people to not buy the x100t as much. It does not benefit Fuji, either way from a new camera sales point of view or will releasing FW ever increase the resale value of your existing used camera. It only ever goes down, until it becomes so rare that it turns into a collectable. When did your iPhone or Mac ever go up in value when Apple released a new major OS release? I wish it worked that way.
  14. Hi all, My first camera was Canon A-1 film SLR with the included nFD 50mm/f1.8 prime kit and it served me a long time. I eventually acquire other lens. Mostly all prime. nFD 35/2, nFD 50/1.4, nFD 85/1.8 and FD 135/2.5 SCC. I first dipped my toe into Digital when I got a Nikon 995 and travel with it throughout my vacation with my family for an entire summer. This proved surprisingly good and lead to my switch from Canon film SLRs to Nikon DSLR. I started with a Nikon D50 with Tamron 28-75/f2.8 as a kit and eventually my wife switch to digital as well. Then added a 50/f1.8D for portraits about the time I got more into setting up a home studio with lighting. Eventually moved up through the Nikon line to D600 w/ 85/1.8g and 70-200/f2.8. After packing around my FF DSLR on a number of vacations, I realized I was starting to take my camera less and less outside of the studio and away from home. I bought a Sony NEX-6 but that proved to be limiting due to the quality of the lens. Although playing around with my old Canon primes on the Sony was kind of fun experiment the quality was simply not there. So here I am on the Fuji APS-C system for when I want to travel light for documentary purposes and enjoyment with great quality lens in a small package. I have an X-T1 two XF18-55, two XF27, XF10-24, XF55-200 and an X-E1 for my wife. Handgrips for both cameras as we found both cameras a bit lacking in comfort compared to our DSLRs. I still have all my cameras and lens that I have bought. Lots of good memories and photos. Looking to make many more with my portable X system setup and fantastic glass. I'm debating about XF56 for the studio, but I don't know.. kind of hard to fault the Nikon FF setup with the glass I have and flash capability. So it's kind of want more than a need at this point.
  15. guess that means no more feature updates from FW 4.0 and further reduction in price of X100S and X100 on secondary markets. Maybe I'll pick up that X100S I have been eyeing soon at a further reduced price. I'll give it a month or so and see what happens to the pricing.
  16. Good to see your interest in Fuji cameras. If you don't mind me asking, which other makes and models were you consider and what ultimately was your decision to go with the X-T10. Its good to see new people come to the brand based on the X-T10 release.
  17. What does the XE2 provide you that you are unhappy about the XE1? Then decide if the XE2 goes far enough in that aspect or if you need to go further up to be satisfied. Not counting on firmware updates that my likely never come on the XE2. I hope that helps.
  18. If I said something like that to my wife, I am sure she would politely tell me where I can stick that vacuum pole.
  19. Yeah. That's the mark of a true professional. What even worse is someone who consistently does it and starts all the reviews the same. It's like they think new reader would not be aware of their historical bias by now. "Oh wow. This new Fuji looks much better and people are pretty excited. I'm really looking forward to testing it...it looks fantastic so far. Tune back later for my full review where I intent to strike it down compared to the other brands that cater to me with a check. Did I say that out loud?"
  20. Hmm. I have not experienced this. It tracks subjects for me. When shutter is less than 1/40000
  21. lots of good written and video review about this already. If you can not see much difference from the get go, I'm incline to say you will be satisfied with the x-t10.
  22. What does the sign say? Cute model btw.
  23. In an ideal world. Yes.
  24. I'm seeing a pattern here. It's happened 4 times before? Why do you feel you want to leave?
  25. Just responding in kind with grammar to Maurice's posted who referred to you in third person with "he". Trying to defend you here Rico. Do you have a link to your analysis you refer to above?
