  1. mbb101, looks like PN did a great job on recovering the highlights. However, I still see the moire pattern. Its most noticiable in your conversion around the highlight area just to the right of the eye on the side of the model's face; camera right. The yellow and magenta moire patterns can also be seen as vertical patterns in the shirt around the highlighted folds. Look at the sleeve and pectoral muscle region of the shirt on camera right Also I see, that some kind of shadow noise on the shirt (maybe due to JPEG compression), right about where the color bone is at; camera left. Anyone else see this? Does PN have a moire adjustment? IMHO its moire, not color noise because it was shot at ISO200. If it was me, I'd try putting back all of the color noise adjustments, leave shadows alone, and see if you can find a moire adjustment to deal specifically with the pattern. The moire adjustment worked like a charm on both LR and C1.
  2. sometimes money in the form of discounting talks louder than latest features.
  3. good point. I don't think Fuji will waste their time with it. Just continue on with further price reductions as they already are doing to liquidate remaining stock without any more FW updates to add features. Just like they have done with X-Pro1.
  4. X-T10 has reprogrammable AEL and AEF buttons?
  5. Interestingly, I often find a great deal of talent from some people who are technically amateurs. For example, I think Jordan Steele, who is an engineer by trade, shows a lot of talent and taste in his photos that he includes in his camera reviews. http://admiringlight.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/devils_bathtub.jpg Likewise, I often find well known professionals who's photos are simply just not for me or look quite ordinary. They shall remain nameless I guess sometimes the difference between pro and ameteur comes down to what they choose or are able to do for a living that gives them the most money in return. Just because you love something and are good at it doesn't mean its the best opportunity for a career. Wouldn't it be a great if our society as a whole valued and paid for photos in the same way as they value and pay for other highly skills professions? If they did, I think there would be a lot more people quitting their real jobs, like Jordon for example, and putting on the pro hat. Often times it has more to do with being different and keeping and open mind than just repeating what has been done before to get recognized and rake in the cash. . You got guys like Peter Hurley who were not photographers in profession. He was an athlete, then turned model, then actor, and final came onto the photography scene when his real jobs were not going anywhere anymore. He hadn't even picked up a camera prior. Not having any formally training in photography, he then proceeded to question conventional head shots and broke all the rules. Going landscape orientation for head shots. Continuos lighting systems. Cutting off the tops of people's heads intentionally, etc etc. Now there are so many people trying to copy his style. He has now moved onto unconventional poses and head positions. Designing unconventional photo equipment. Laughing all the way to the bank. Quite entertaining to see. ...but I have really digressed. wow. https://peterhurley.com/photography/wonder-boys
  6. Milandro, I appreciate your efforts to give people what they seek and advice to give them peace when they don't find it.
  7. My experience is aligned with yours. This is why I suggested to Rico to work on an e-book to share his X-pretise with the struggling masses.
  8. How about D-Preview?
  9. You could say the same thing about the EC dial also. Why stop there? A canon dslr veteran doesn't need a dedicate aperture ring or top plate shutter dials either. right? You got front and rear dials for that. Just like on canon dslr. Remove all those Fuji dedicated dials and you end up with canon dslr operational controls which you are accustomed to using for 12 years.
  10. benjaminthomson, It couldn't hurt to use rangefinder style for video. I think articulating screen like on GH4 or Nikon D5x00 series would be useful. Then again, unfortunately, I think they have a long ways to go to be competitive in video before body style even comes into the equation. Is there any advantage Fuji would have with video over the likes of Sony and Panasonic? Professional video rigs are not exactly stylish.. so does it really matter what it looks like? I don't know. I really don't shot video. skip ahead 7min mark in this video about review of the video quality of X-T10. Don't know if I should laugh or cry.
  11. sorry to hear that. that stinks.
  12. I don't think you are a snob. You are free to repeat yourself as much as you like on this forum. However, as I already said, rest assured we got your point of view the first time. You did a good job of making your opinion clear. I'll let you know if you ever cross the line and become personally offensive in nature. So far, you have not; although I don't really understand the need to keep repeating yourself and what it will take to satisfy you. So everything is fine; just a bit odd. Cheers.
  13. I have read that FW on X-T10 allows you to use the red video button as a general purpose Fn button. I have not seen this stated for FW 4.0 on X-T1. Can anyone think of why Fuji would not allow you to do the same on X-T1 with FW 4.0? I'm at a loss as to why this would be the case.
  14. Milandro,I agree with you. Consider that the x-t1 has been on the market for over a year now. Almost 1.5. Yet Fuji has felt it has only needed to discount it by $100 for the body. Who else has this kind of success? As time goes on they get better internal cost for each unit shipped. This means the profit margin continues to increase on the X-t1. Why in the world would they want to minimize return on investment at this point if it is selling so well that they have not felt they needed to introduce something to succeed it or dip the price any further to increase sales? I'm sure they are working on the successor, but they will take their time and keep making it better internally until they feel the x-t1 is no longer competitive through SW upgrades and profit margins have dropped too far thru price elasticity.
  15. Off brand without the counter torque support against the body ?
  16. It's only 3mo older. True. However, the x-e2 body price has dropped $300 vs the $100 for the x-t1. This is quite telling.
  17. This last one is a good example of both properties at the same time.
  18. Spell it out for us. What are you trying to say?? When has Apple ever released a new iOS major version on old iPhones before introducing it first on the release of the new iPhone ?
  19. Maybe an E-book is in order Rico. Sounds like it would sell as there are no shortage of people looking to make LR look "as" good as most of its competitors.
  20. I really like the shots of the turntable, band rocking out, sunset, b&w theatre and last one of the bar. The pizza is huge! Making me hungry.
  21. first shot from my 10-24 @ 10mm. This "tragically comic distortion" is going to be fun.
  22. gorden, If you are truly 100% happy with the accuracy of the EVF in multi or average metering mode to get exposure correct in high contrast scenes, then there won't be anything I can say change your mind. For me being able to switch into spot mode quickly in these challenging situations, and mapping the tone I want using EV offsets from middle gray just takes the guess work out for me and is faster. The pupils in my eyes reacting to ambient conditions tend to throw off my perception of true exposure when switching to look through the EVF with large EC values dialed in + or - from multi/average mode's exposure basis. For example, shooting backlit scenes or shooting lighted objects in darkly lit buildings.
  23. I can't see your eyes in that photo, but your avatar photo helps explain your biases towards range finders more than the size of your nose; which does not look massive to me. Maybe a profile shot of your nose would help drive your point home even further.
  24. Not everyone is right eye dominant unfortunately.
  25. "....And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray... And this paddle game. - The ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need... And this remote control. - The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need... And these matches. - The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control, and the paddle ball... And this lamp. - The ashtray, this paddle game, and the remote control, and the lamp, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The paddle game and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches for sure. Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need."
