  1. I am shooting the Zoo tonight (Zoo Brew...craft brewers on hand) I'll take my 90 and test it as well but I have yet to notice any infinity or near infinity focusing issues, it's my favorite XF glass btw.
  2. You will get what you pay for. That may be great for some of you. But personally I'd rather pay the same amount for Fuji refurbs, or particular Chinese lenses which give a certain character as opposed to sub par in a IQ standard glass copycat (11mm excluded) Yongnuo have a reputation, it's well deserved. Now their strobes, that's different, they are a great value. Then there is saving for better, but I get G.A.S. and in all things YMMV. (standard caveat for forums)
  3. Sorry I don't have that experience to comment on that combo but I do use the XF 14 2.8 with the X-T5 and it's phenomenal. It's not on the list either and imho, I would not let that slow me down if I wanted a particular lens.
  4. Hi, imho the 70-300 is very underrated, so many head to the 100-400 but the former keeps you in the small-ish Fuji world with incredible IQ, takes an extender well as well. My recommend would be the XF90. I believe it pairs very well with the 27, close to the classic 35/135 FF 2 lens combo I have and many have used over the years. IQ wise the 90 is closer to the 35 but 50mm isn't my cup of tea. So if you are focused on a new lens being a zoom, the 70-300 is a great addition to your current focal lengths, if I was you though, I'd head to Fujifilm refurb and get a 90 for $640. It's magic and in those locales you have coming up, it would be nuts. Good luck!
  5. I guess all the lens size comments are relative. Unless you aren't used to something larger such as EF/RF L glass, the bigger front element fuji lenses can seem big. Me, I think the 33 1.4 is very small overall and well balanced on the X-T and X-Pro series.
  6. fwiw, I just installed the Arizona FS on my X-T5, it has that Wes Anderson look. Very cool.
  7. Like it's been said, it's a slippery slope. It's very akin to shooting film where the curve can be steep and the cost is very much so for inks, dyes & high quality prints. Is you monitor calibrated? Are you familiar with ICC profiles? Lots to consider. Keith Cooper on youtube can and has answered any question you could fathom. Google him.
  8. My single issue with Fuji menus is there are multiple settings which control singular functions such as MF. It looks as if you know where to check, i.e. MF assist, AF + MF, the MSC dial etc. One thing I have found is fat fingering the lower SS dial to movie instead of stills or the lower iso dial to CL. I hope you figure it out, it's probably simple, usually is. Unless you missed one of the things I listed above, lol.
  9. From the hill above my house overlooking the Salt Lake Valley and the Great Salt Lake. Me, using the 135FF focal length once again for landscape. I guess that light above the lake symbolizes a phoenix, lol.
  10. Yes they do have some communication. Focus check, exif I know for sure but the rest not certain.
  11. Sharing it with us plebes and doing so in caps (no one loves caps bud) isn't the sharing Mister Rogers was talking about. Have you seen the tv show 'Beef'?
  12. This might be just me but you're not getting me to follow along in a 20 minute diatribe with gruff and angry presentation. YMMV. No matter someone's history and palmares, if you want to get a point across don't turn a imaging tech video into a CPAC with torches convention. Vinegar meet honey.
  13. Any Macro shooters, esp those using the Laowa 65mm lens need a Popeshield and don't want to wait for the backlog from Slovakia? New in box.
  14. After 40 years with mostly Canon, both film and digital, a brief summer romance with Oly and a background with Nikon film, I cannot state how pleased I am with transitioning to Fuji and the X-T5. I thought I would never leave full frame but here I am and with a widening array of versatile primes at my reach I have no constraints and the files are very manageable. Muscle memory from EOS and dial/button placement was a thing in the beginning but now after a couple months it's been reset. Nothing but enjoyment and great images.
  15. I would tend to think that the f/2 WR lineup is pretty steady (and not that mature) for the moment and Fuji would have no reason to update it as of yet, even if you have a personal need for compact and faster The 1.4 iterations are still very small by industry standards and are a balanced fit on the X-T series. 5 minutes with a FF body and a RF 50 1.2 and just how tiny the Fuji's are is impressive.
  16. Big hands here as well and long time Canon FF shooter. It's not just body size and lens balance but ergonomics and button dial layout that makes or breaks it for me. The only Fuji which seemed to work for me was the X-T4/5. I have a 5 and use an L bracket which gives me a bit more purchase. Having the ability to remap all buttons and dials helps as well as some fall into natural places for me and others not so much . One thing I need to change is the back button focusing of the AEL button and maybe change it to the AFL. Otherwise with the L plate I can now comfortably hold and lens combination and have started to create new muscle memory. I once had a Pen-F for a minute and I was so cramped it was a laugh.
  17. One of my favorite focal lengths, might be nice to have a faster alternative to the pancake for some days. Would be a good 2 lens bag with the 90. We shall see.
  18. This is pretty common in the digital camera realm. No surprises to me. New models aren't always revolutionary, some are just incremental bumps. Of course you always have the group who clamors for the best features on lower tier bodies....🤔
  19. I prefer it to be only while button is depressed, I'm in control that way. I did it that way for years with Canon so on Fuji it's seamless with my muscle memory. One thing I have found with Fuji is software between models is not consistent. Is that what you're dealing with here? I would never assume it should be that way but some might like it so, everyone's mileage will vary as in all things. I don't see this as a bug but as a differentiation.
  20. That's correct, no worries unless it's showing something in your images.
  21. My experience is that the BSI 40mp in the X-T5 is light years better than any Canon sensor for bnw. It's no Foveon but the best color array version I have used.
  22. The C 23 1.4 for X mount comes this summer. That's (imho) the one to wait for) Albeit there will be no aperture wheel, the optics will be fantastic and flare etc well controlled. If the L mount version is anything to go by it will come in in the mid 300 grams.
