I've only had one issue with ONE camera (Fujifilm S2 Pro) and that includes owning between 1973 and today:
Minolta SR-T101 (my sister still owns it)
Minolta X-E7 ( I still own it and it still works)
Digital: Fuji 4900z 4.3 megapixel - outstanding camera
Nikon 8700 8mp - never had an issue through sale
Nikon 300 6mp - never had an issue through sale
Nikon D700 12mp - Still use it and still works perfectly with over 200,000 images
    RB67 Pro Medium Format
2 ea Mamiya 645 AFD Medium Format
2 ea Yashicamat Twin Lens reflex
Fujifilm S1 Pro - ONE of the BEST early digital cameras with gorgeous colors and a Base ISO of 320, 3.2mp
Fujifilm S2 Pro.  The S2 Pro developed a bad sensor and Fuji in Edison replaced the sensor, and shutter free of charge with a. two day turnaround after I dropped it off.
X-E1 - never had an issue
X-T1 still own it.  Rubber grip started to come loose and I used gorilla glue to fix it
X-T2 Camera took a salt water bath and self-destructed.  Not worth repairing per Fuji's repair estimate, sold for parts
X-H1 - Still shoot with it never had an issue
    G50R and 100S. -- Haven't had an issue.  Fingers crossed I don't

If I were going to hang with friends out of ALL my gear I would take two/three batteries, and my XT1 with my 27mm 2.8 (original version)
That's it.  The XT1 with the 27mm pancake fits anywhere including my pants pockets so I'd be set.

Thank you so much for this. I was having the same problem and simply couldn't work out why! Never thought of looking at the top menu bar!! And yes it works.

Yes I fully agree on this as an update. I would also like to see on all X, GFX bodies with two slots for memory cards, the ability to put all RAW on 1 slot, all JPG and MOV on the other. Also one thing I hate is the randomness of the way the camera itself chooses which slot to use after I have removed a card to put in a reader. Many times I have done that. Put card back in thinking it is now on card 1, until the next time I take the card out of slot 1, to find ZERO. All has gone to slot 2. I know there is an icon in the VF and screen, but that doesn't seem to help with this issue, which I gather from other threads in ages old issue.

I updated my 100s this morning.  I too had to update the date/time/gmt information.  Thank goodness that was all -- my other settings stayed intact.  Kinda flaky from Fuji...
One update I'd LOVE to see is the ability to either hide, or re-order the film simulations. I've been using Fuji's since my old X-E1 in 2012 and there are some film sims I have never used. It would be great to be able to hide them or at least re-order them in some order that makes sense to the user.

THANKS Jerry and Greybeard.  This is very helpful!  I do use geotracking.  I'll have to test that.  I was actually surprised this app still ran on my iPhone 7s which is six years and six months old!  I'm keeping the old app just in case I didn't have too many issues with it and was reasonably happy.  I'm actually looking forward to the new app primarily for the Activity feature.  I wonder if it captures the total of shutter actuations on the camera?
    Thanks again guys!

After lengthy discussion on a different forum it seems there may be issues if you want to geocode images and you use an Apple device.
Whichever phone you have its necessary to first connect phone and camera via bluetooth (and turn on the geocoding and location sync settings in the camera).
Apple devices will continue to send updated locations to the camera while the phone app is in the foreground OR the camera remains active. When the app goes into the background and the camera sleeps or is turned off and on it won't reconnect.
Android devices will reconnect phone and camera even if the app is in the background.
Only an issue if you are interested in using the app for geocoding.
(The requirement for "always on" even if you are not geocoding seems like lazy programming but I doubt it has a really serious affect on the battery.)

    https://fujifilm-x.com/global/products/software/xapp/
It works on my X-T30, so far. It has one feature to be careful regarding using it. GPS support is an “always on” requirement to be able to use the app. Additionally, the GPS will need “use precise location” turned on, this is no biggy, it means the GPS is using the phone’s GPS location rather than the older less precise method of using wifi location.
But, having the GPS always on is more troubling, because while you can turn that on and off in the phone’s main setting menu, you have to have it on just to use the app for any of the other remote’s features. So it is running in the background using your batteries (camera and phone) even if you do not want location info embedded in the image files. Remember to turn this (use location setting) back off in the phone’s main settings menu after you are finished using the app or you could potentially drain the batteries while it is running in the background.

When I used the 50r for a couple of years I used my 2012 iMac 27" with 1TB HD, and 16GB of Ram as well as my 2014 MacBook Air with 8G of Ram and 256G HD
Was it the best?  For me it was.  I shoot both JPEG & RAW at all times - and the files loaded fast enough.  The most I ever loaded at one time was over 9,000 files after a month in Colorado.  Does it take some time? YES.  But since I'm not a run and gun guy and am retired and don't do weddings or events any more I don't mind the wait as I have other things to do.
Now that I have the 100s those machines listed above just CHOKE.  They do work, but you need the patience of a saint plus don't even think about doing HDR/photo merges, etc.  Not happening.  Since I bought my 100s I've switched to a 2020 iMac 27"  5k retina with 16G of RAM.  I find the 100s files quite zippy - and I"m talking about the raw files as after I review the jpegs to decide what I want to keep/edit I chuck most of them.  My iMac is a intel I-core 5 which at the time was the basic model available.  Initially I bought it for my spouse to do her work on which is why I did not get more ram.  Had I known I would move my work flow to her iMac I would maybe have purchased more memory.  But, so far, I've done the 400MP stitching, photo merges, etc in LR and Photoshop, and I use Capture One for my post-processing and I am extremely happy.
Another item which I started using at the beginning of the year for the 50r and the 100s files is my iPad Pro.  I find that device to be a beautiful piece of equipment that I use both at home and on the road.  It's smooth, great and true color reproduction and FAST on JPEG's and RAW.  Since I only have the 512G version I use USBC Samsung Externals when needed.
In a four weeks I'm headed to Alaska and the Arctic for two months to shoot travel and stock.  I'm not taking my laptop - only my iPad Pro.  I love working on it and have developed a workflow that works for me.  I'm packing two Samsung T5 SSD 1TB externals, plus two Lacie Rugged 1TB externals for storage and backup.  If I need additional storage I can pickup another external pretty much anywhere until I go to the more remote locations.
    Hope that helps.

I've been using Fujifilm since February 2012.  I started with an XT1 - which just so happens to be sitting here next to me with the original 27mm 2.8 lens.  I sold ALL my Nikon gear including multiple D800e bodies, 70-200 24-70 and 16-24. The only Nikon I still own is my original D700 with a 50mm 1.8 and the 18-35 zoom lens.   I really fell in love with the Fuji system.  As you will note in my "signature" below I own quite a few Fuji items.  I have NEVER had a camera issue that required repair --- The exception being my Fujifilm S2Pro DSLR body that required a new sensor and Fuji replaced it free of charge and it was already a five year old camera.
So I'd go for it if you really want a Fuji.  On this forum you have an amazing support group that will answer your requests for assistance.
Good Luck with whatever decision you make.

The 16mm 1.4 is AMAZING!  I've owned it since 2015 when I used it on my XT1, and still use it on my XH1.  IMHO it is one of Fuji's BEST lenses period - together with the 80mm.
I have images taken with this lens hanging in Boston at the Children's Hospital there.  VERY large prints.

    HI
I bought the GF 20-35 a few weeks ago and I am very satisfied.
The sharpness is formidable from edge to edge, the construction rock solid, the balance excellent.
At the same time I also used the GF 23: the performance of the two lenses are similar but the zoom is much more versatile.
In my PHOTO gallery you can see some shots taken with the GF 20-35.
The only flaw is the very high price but still well below, for example, the Hasselblad prices.

When I print, I have a 13"x19" Canon Pixma 100.  The printer cost me a whopping $50.00 and it included 50 sheets of Lustre 13 x 19 paper.  So basically it was free.  I love that printer!  I got rid of my Epson as it was nothing but issues with it - ink clogging, striping, splotchy ink placement.  This Pixma 100 is over three years old, and it still works beautifully.  Not too bad for free.  Just a side note I never shut the printer off; it's always on as this way the ink doesn't dry, and more importantly there isn't the huge ink usage when the printer starts up and primes itself.
You can check the canonusa.com website and they'll have specials every now and then.  My ultimate goal is to move up to a 17" x 24" printer but that's sometime down the road.

One of my VERY best friends is a Leica Guy.  I know people say these Leica guys are stuck up, and hung up on gear but not my good friend.  He's a photographer.  Has taken, dropped, had repaired, shot, got wet, etc EVERY one of his six Leica bodies - including the Monochrome.  The Leica store in NYC LOVE him.  He walked in last year for a Leica branded polarizer, and walked with their only cop of of a think a 90mm lens that had just come out.  It was five figures deep that one~.  He also has several 80 megapixel + higher Hassy medium formats with some serious glass.   Last Christmas he bought for each of his three sons a new Leica body and a 50mm Summicron (?) lens!  Like I said - BIG BUCKS.  He just. bought the 60 megapixel S2 MF Leica as well a few months ago - And guess what? He actually ENVIES my fuji 50r and my APC cameras!  He truly loves them but I think he's afraid of switching at this point.
Long story short, I do believe that FUJI will be out with a medium format Monochrome by next summer or fall.  If they do, I and my friend will be first in line!

The glass is rather durable.  Unless you gouge it with keys or something else in your bag most likely you'll upgrade your camera before the glass is scratched too much.
As far as cleaning, I clean all my glass with an old, 30 year old cloth diaper that I used on my girls.  I have several of them.  If you don't have any of that, a good quality microfiber cloth, and a drop of eye glass cleaning fluid on a Q-Tip will take care of the viewfinder --- also very good on the rear panel, and lenses bTw
    Hope that helps.
