  1. Interesting thoughts - but isn’t heif really an alternative to jpg rather than raw?
  2. According to Fujifilm the latest version of X Raw Studio should be compatible with Big Sur - you could try the usual stuff like rebooting the computer and reinstalling the Fujifilm software
  3. I do not have this problem with my X-S10
  4. You need to turn the drive dial (on top of the camera) to the movie camera symbol. The single screen shows when the camera is in stills mode.
  5. Try this: https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t3/menu_setup/button-dial_setting/index.html#lock
  6. My understanding (and experience) is that Fujifilm cameras write to the cards in parallel - so in backup the speed is dependent on the slowest card (although I don't believe Fujifilm actually documents anything on the subject). Can you explain the 20 second issue? Are you saying that the camera takes that long to write to the card after the exposure is complete? And this is single exposure (rather than long continuous bursts?). Perhaps you have Long Exposure NR set to ON which will double the exposure time for low light / long exposure shots - this is for processing the noise reduction rather than anything to do with card write speeds.
  7. I understand the site has a need to bring in revenue but the "Advertisement" and "Ad" replies to every forum post are useless and annoying - seeing a possible response to your post and instead being sent to Amazon is just irritating - perhaps the site could switch back to normal ads.
  8. Have you tried Photos? Its the best system integrated into the Apple platform - it does a good job of basic jpg editing and allows sharing images between computer, tablet and phone via iCloud. It also includes file management (in that the images are imported into the Photos database). And its included with the operating system. Lightroom would work for jpgs - but its extra cost for the full application.
  9. Which platform? FastStone is pretty good under Windows and Photos works well if you want to stick with Apple (especially as it allows you to easily transfer between computer, tablet and phone). Presumably you are looking more for fine tuning the jpegs rather than major editing? Do you just want an editor or a full system for managing the image files?
  10. I think firmware installation is a one way process - its not like the other settings and gets reset when the internal capacitor runs down.
  11. Something else is going on here - is there plenty of light and are you using a lens with an aperture ring?
  12. Everyone makes the same mistake with the file naming - it’s a shame the camera can’t figure it out
  13. The firmware file for the xt4 should be FWUP0024.DAT why do you think that it’s editing software?
  14. The difference is in the EVF not the LCD - with "Eye sensor only" the image display option is shown but not with "EVF Sensor and LCD image display"
  15. I think you are misunderstanding the purpose of the setting - from your description it is working as intended - the display remains in use when displaying images and for live view The EVF on the other hand does not show image display (only live view).
  16. The simple answer is yes. And the camera does matter - more recent cameras - like the X-H2/S - allow you to save settings other than those for image quality - so the situation is different.
  17. Bizarre - I was thinking you must have something wrong with your camera but I tried with my X-H2S and the 16-80 and get similar results (I didn't calculate the exact delay). It even happens if you close focus and then put the lens cap on - or even turn the camera off and back on with lens cap on.
  18. Yes - long press on the Menu/OK button controls lock/unlock
  19. I assume by "in camera" conversion you mean using X raw Studio on the computer which uses the camera as the back end for the actual raw conversion? I use it occasionally - its useful for testing out different camera settings but a bit cumbersome for large scale conversion (and not as flexible as Adobe, Capture One, DxO etc). You might annoy Adobe users by accusing them of being "casual".
  20. That is what the specifications say - "Bulb: up to 60min." with mechanical shutter and "Bulb: 1sec. Fixed" with electronic shutter. So bulb works it is just fixed at one second with electronic shutter. https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/products/cameras/x-t5/specifications/
  21. If the objective is to reduce the file size how about 14 bit lossless compressed?
  22. The most likely reason is that you have the camera set to fully auto
  23. Its difficult to imagine this could be anything other than a faulty camera. You seem to have done all the tests to eliminate other causes.
  24. Agree with jerryy The X-T5 is a recent camera - if you don't have the latest version of Lightroom (or if you have a subscription version and you haven't updated it recently) then it won't support the X-T5 - at a minimum you will need version 6.0 of Lightroom and version 12.0 of Lightroom Classic
