  1. Yes indeed, especially when, like me, you are returning back to seriuos digital photography after almost a decade of smartphones😁
  2. I just want to tell my experience about RAW processing, even if my target is to use only SOOC. Despite what I have been reading, I could import the RAF files on to my Samsunf Tab S9 Plus and processing them in Lightroom. I was not so convinced that Lighroom on the tablet would be able to handle those files but it did without any issue and the Fujifiim profiles were available in Lightroom as well. I am very satisfied by this option, even if it is common opinion that Capture One woudl be a better call. Since I prefer to trave light, I prefer this option in case of need. The best for me it would be to have X RAW Studio on the table but it is not available, stangely because it uses the camera processor.... who knows, maybe in the future. For now, I am dedicated to master the film simulations and achieve the 100% SOOC.
  3. Ah OK, so there is no setting to have live view on the EVF and only the picture display on the LCD, without live view. Pitty, that configuration would fit nicely to me. Oh well, I am sure I will manage anyway. Thank you very much for your prompt and precise assistance, very much appreciated.
  4. Then there is no difference with the option "Eye sensor" only.
  5. Hello everyone, I am playing with my brand new X-T5 and I just wanted to say how great it is. A lot to learn on how to use it at its best but that is only making it even nicer! My brain is too full now 😁 Thank you all and merry Christmas πŸŽ…
  6. Hello everyone, I am going mad because one of the screen settong is not working properly. In particular the "EVG eye sensor + LCD display for image view". With this setting the LCD stays on every time I am not looking in the EVF. Instead it should turn on only to show the just taken picture. Anybody with the same issue? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you all and merry Christmas πŸŽ…
  7. SergePhoto, thank you for the information. In fact I have been reading a bit around and I discover the SOOC concept which is something new for me but very interesting. I have decided that my new "mission" with the coming X-T5 will be to commit to SOOC. Being a RAW shooter, I will need quite some experimenting and practising but I think it will be a very enjoyable challenge. Have a nice Xmas and great new year.
  8. Greybeard, thanks for the feedback. I actually had in mind the camera itself because that would allow me to leave the personal laptop at home when travelling for work (company laptop nowadays is blocking every installation) and do not have a pile of pictures to process later. Having said that, X raw studio sounds also an interesting option too bad there isn't a tablet version, especially considering that the camera is doing all the hard work. I am sorry and I do apologise if "casual" has been interpreted as a negative or even as an offence. It was totally not my intention. Infact I am a lighroom user my self and casual in my mind has a positive meaning, like being open to whatever comes along, flexible,....
  9. While waiting for Santa bringing me the X-T5, I've started reading the manual and collecting info/tips around the web. I have found out that raw conversion softwares are one of the maint point of discussion: Capture One vs Lightroom seems to be the epic fight. Purists favor C1 while casuals are open to Lightroom. But I have also discovered that the "in camera" conversion possibility allows the change of quite a wide range of parameters, most likely with a lower level of precision than the PC softwares. Workflow would also be quite inefficient but the advantage is to have a 100% Fujifilm styled picture. Does anybody try it or even use it regularly? I would be curious to hear about the experience, its pros and cons πŸ˜‰
  10. About that noise, I saw one review of this lens on youtube where they were saying that the clack noise, when moving the lens upside down, is normal and due to the LM. With the lens attached to a turned-on camera, there would be no noise because the LM is active and its parts are 'engaged".
  11. Thank you, nice review. And now I am really looking forward to open that package which is under the Xmas tree πŸŽ„πŸ˜.
  12. I am getting one for Xmas πŸ˜‰, let's see if it will be OK or not.
  13. Hi, I am Italian, living in The Netherlands and working around the world as expact for almost 25 yeas so I define myself as citizen of the world. I started with photography in my teenager years when I was shooting with an entry level reflex, couple of zooms and lots of film rolls. During the university and the early carrier, I left photography aside, too busy with building a life. It took quite some years to have a camera back again in the hands and that was when I was working in Singapore but by then the digital replaced the film, so I had a sort of new start. Of course, moving ahead in life, I dropped photography again for few years till I discovered Lomography which brought back my passion and I restarted with rolls and toy cameras. And since, after a two there is always a three, I put the cameras and films aside again and using the mobile phone here and there shooting without thinking. Now since few months, I have this urge to step back again in to real photography and so Santa has already put under the tree an X-T5 with 23mm 1.4f R LM WR. I am back. Giuseppe
