If everything is manual : aperture, shutter speed and ISO then exposure compensation should show you the difference between the settings you have chosen and the exposure the camera has metered - if you change the manual settings then the exposure compensation value should change

I believe this is because you didn't use the app to upgrade to 2.01 so it doesn't know your firmware version - I've seen the same thing

My request for the other raw file overlapped your post where you noted that raw conversion always showed the problem - even using X Raw Studio. The bottom line is that its best to avoid lossy compressed raw to be safe.

I tried the sample you posted in X Raw Studio and it gives the same problem as the other raw converter. Can you post a link to the other raw - where X Raw Studio appears to avoid the artefacts? Its probably a good idea to avoid shooting in compressed raw as it doesn't buy you all that much space over lossless compressed. EDIT: I see you have now posted that you have the same problem with X Raw Studio - which is what I expected - the problem seems to be with the lossy compression algorithm that FujiFilm uses.

Doubtful the X-T4 will get any more function updates. FujiFilm have added a more comprehensive custom setting to the X-T5 (and all the other newer cameras). But people complained about that as well - they can't win.

Maybe the 18-55 would suit you better than the 16-80 - its much smaller, lighter and less intrusive

Maybe you could check the EXIF of your images from the 16-80 and find out which focal length you used the most

That doesn't sound good - the cost to fix depends where you are - in the UK there is a fixed charge for the X-E3 of £138 (assuming it can be fixed)

The answer depends on which camera you have - this is possible with some of the newer cameras like the X-H2S

You don't say which camera or which mode - but in Aperture Priority on the X-H2S you could have aperture on the front dial and exposure compensation on the rear dial.

They probably decided to keep the option on the higher end cameras like the X-H2S

Another major upgrade is the Subject Detection - if you shoot a lot of animals / birds (or planes, trains and automobiles) that might make the difference

Which computer? Have you tried a different computer? When are you getting the message - is this in copying from computer to card? Are you able to access the card for reading? Have you tried to copy any other file to the card? Are you able to copy the file to another destination? Is the card in a USB connected reader or directly connected? As much information as possible would help. I don't have the X-T4 but could you update using a phone app rather than SD card?

Card reader maybe - when you check in Files do you see something called "Untitled" at the bottom of the Locations sections on the left hand side of the screen? (By the way I never get a message saying an accessory is connected when I attach my card reader to the iPad)

Hmm - yes you're right - very quiet but something there - I've no idea - tried turning everything off and its still there (This was on the X-H2S so its not limited to the X-T5)

Is the sound coming from the camera or the lens? Does the lens have OIS? The most likely thing is that you have pre AF turned on and its trying to focus all the time. You can tell by turning off both IS (in the shooting menu or switch on lens) and Pre AF (in the AF menu) and see if the noise goes away. Then turn back on IS and Pre AF one at a time and see when the noise starts.

If the card has been formatted in a FujiFilm camera then the format should be fine for the iPad. Did you use the same card reader with both laptop and iPad? Is the laptop a Mac and how did you read the files on the laptop. How do you know the iPad doesn't recognize the SD card?
