  1. Thanks for the wonderful advice. I am getting the Samyang.
  2. Look at this project: http://konost.com It just reminds how it's a shame the epson RD1 never really took off. Imagine how the RD1 (2006) would be like with today's tech... A x camera with Konost tech would be my dream camera. Fuji should figure out a way to develop fujinon lenses with AF but without focus by wire. That would be my dream camera! Imagine a real digital rangefinder with: - xtrans sensor or organic sensor - hybrid viewfinder (with digital RF overlay) - no focus by wire MF - autofocus when you want it. - the signature Fuji looks! (X100) - finally an affordable digital rangefinder (looking at you LEICA!) Fujifilm should buy Konost ASAP and bring out this camera!
  3. Where I live there aren't any places which rent out fujinon lenses. I know ultimately the decision is mine. But I would really like to hear more opinions from x-shooters who own or shot with all these lenses. If had the funds I'd buy them all! I prefer to correct distortion in post, since I'm not interested in using a tilt/shift adapter or lens. Too much hassle in my opinion. And it seems to me you need to use a tripod for that. I prefer shooting handheld.
  4. I wanted the zoom when it was announced, but because of my shooting style I prefer a prime. It forces me think about the shot a little more. The extra speed and weight/ size is also an important factor. But thanks for the tip!
  5. Beautiful! I own the half case and strap for the x100s in the same color. Expensive... But so worth it!!
  6. Hi, Trenton I always enjoy your comments and opinions did you see the link I posted earlier in this topic? Definitely not a gimmick I would say. The owner of the vid claimed it worked without a problem afterwards.
  7. I have no idea which lens I should buy to cover my ultra wide needs. I am interested in landscape/architectural indoor and outdoor shooting. The 18mm I feel is just not wide enough. I was wondering if anyone experienced in shooting indoor/outdoor architectural photography could give me their recommendation which lens to buy. Should I go as wide as possible ? (I don't want fisheye distortion) What is the sweet spot for indoor photography? My biggest questions: Xf 14mm - is f2.8 fast enough for indoor shooting? - wide enough Compared to 12mm Xf 16mm - wide enough for buildings and indoor work? - not much difference with 18mm? Samyang 12mm - how is the build quality - maybe too wide? (Distortion)
  8. I love my 35mm f1.4! But I will be getting the 35mm f2 wr as well. It's going to be my go to lens in bad weather or locations where I might have the risk of getting sand or water on my camera. Also loving the small form factor! It's going to look good on my x-t1! Just look at it: https://fujifilmblog.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/x1000024.jpg?w=768&h=512
  9. If you want flexibility in a small format there is only 1 king and that's the Sony rx100 (all versions). It can't be beaten. I tried one and was amazed how you still could get thin DOF with such a small camera and sensor. It's so small you can put it in your front or back pocket. Just remember a aps-c sized zoom compact would require a much larger sized lens. Fuji should ditch the 2/3 sensor and put in a 1" x-trans sensor. That would make a possible Fuji x40 a real contender for the rx100.
  10. I have also have an x100s and a x-t1. My opinion is that they perfectly compliment each other. If you get the x-t10/23mm I'm sure you're going to miss your x100s. I decided not to upgrade to the x100t because it didn't offer any real big difference. Don't get the x100t only because you want chrome and the little viewfinder. It's not worth the upgrade. I recommend treating you x100s as a "monochrome" camera and your x-t1 as the workhorse!
  11. Never experienced that. I also own x100s I'd suggest sending it to Fuji.
  12. I have ax100s and x-t1. Great combo! If I want to pack light I'll just take my x100s. If I have my bag with me I take both! I use the x100s for wide shots and/or x-t1 for portraits (35 or 18-55). You can't go wrong with this combo! I know for sure you won't regret the purchase coming from the original x100 (I owned it too)
  13. My opinion is that they should give one last fw update to bring the x100s to the level it "can" be since it still has the same processor and sensor as the x100t before they abondon the xtrans II. That is the essence of kaizen in my eyes. The next "x200" will feature all new technology. Which FW will not be compatible with the x100t or x100s. Remember that a lot jumped on the x100s at the time when Fuji gave the x100 one last fw update, because they were impressed by Fuji's philosophy.
  14. The owner of the video commented on YouTube it stil worked perfectly!
  15. Hey Patrick! I think this video will answer your question: You still would have had a working camera if you had a xt1 with you!
  16. Please Fujifilm!!! One more grand update for the x100s owners! If I knew the x100t would be introduced so soon I would have waited. Although I'm absolutely satisfied with the camera just at least give us the x100t firmware for those who don't need the new hybrid viewfinder or Wifi.
  17. Hello all! I'm G from The Netherlands. I just signed and used to post on the fujix-forum. My Fuji adventure started with the Fuji x-10 which opened up my eyes to photography after that I owned the original x100 and x-e1. After selling them I now own X100s (still hoping for 1 more firmware update!) and x-t1. After being blessed with my 2nd child and struggling with my own business my cameras have been sitting on a shelf way too long. I'm hoping by joining this community it will inspire me to make more time for my favorite hobby.
