no. ..and not a dumb question.
-
Yes. I purchased two X-T2's. Two metal grips. One booster grip. I will rarely need the booster grip, as that's not the usual type of shooting I do, but I foresee an occasional real need for the booster, so I got one. Thus the two metal grips are always on the two cameras. The booster is in the bag. I hate the ergonomics of the X-T2 (and X-T1) without the added metal grip as my pinkie has no where to go and the camera is unbalanced without it. I consider the metal grip a MUST have! For me much more so than the booster. I left the DSLR world of two Canon 5D MK3's and all primes and "L"'s for the Fuji system because of the size/weight/intimidation factor of the DSLR's. The booster is a big step in the wrong direction for me. The grips are a nominal addition of size and weight and payoff big time in ergonomics. Peter www.kma438.com www.tmaxphoto.com

Fujifilm Long Eyecup EC-XT L for X-T1 on X-T2
pete1959 replied to pete1959's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
in regards to the instructional video: open up the screen so you can lift from under the bottom center like a bottle cap.....trying to swap eyecups without opening the screen is difficult. -
No Not true.

Agreed. Letting the 55-140 hang from my fingers, with all the weight on the upper "strut" and holding with my fingers causes a gap between booster and camera body and feels as if it is pulling away/beginning to bend. That piece is molded plastic attached to the booster, not one solid piece. We shall see... Peter

Fujifilm Long Eyecup EC-XT L for X-T1 on X-T2

...forums will not allow me to post additional pics.... Peter -
Attached are comparison pictures of the Fujifilm Long Eyecup EC-XT L vs. the supplied eyecup on the X-T2. It's an incremental improvement, especially since the eyecup/viewfinder combination supplied on the X-T2 is awful nice to look through regardless. But it was a feature I thought was worth the $15.00... Is there a difference? Yes. Is it huge? No, but to get an extra 15% of shading (my subjective number) it's an accessory I prefer to have than have not. Peter

AF/MF AF POINT DISPLAY to OFF ? Is that what you want? Pete
-
Nice!

Agreed. Fuji please make it easier to access "Format"...and give me the option to format both at once. Two cameras equals four cards to wipe clean/format at the start of each shoot.
-
When deleting pictures RAW-JPEG from the two cards I'm frustrated that deleting a bad image from one card leaves it on the other. If I delete an image while chimping I want it deleted, on both the RAW and JPEG cards. Since I want to match file names of the RAW/JPEG later on having one deleted image on one card causes issues later on in renaming. Add to the firmware list please...along with the buried "format cards" issues. Peter

My two cents on the X-T2: Blazingly fast camera both in performance and AF! AF-S AF-C Fast. My two cents in no particular order: Face detection freaky good....so good I will probably leave it on most of the time. Boost or no boost, grip or no grip, it's just a fast camera! Acros is beautiful. Lovely viewfinder. I used both styles of batteries today. Zero issues. Crazy fast camera! Image quality superb! This camera just SMOKES the X-T1 ! I left a Canon 5D MK3 system for Fuji, had some lingering regrets over the last six months, but those are totally erased as of today. -Peter

X-T2 Clockings Not Allowing "PM"? / Workaround
pete1959 replied to pete1959's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
...title is wrong sorry "Clock" not clocking.. -
Maybe it's me or maybe it's a bug? Can anyone set their X-T2 clock to "PM"? My selector will not advance to the "right" so I can change from AM to PM. It stays on AM. I found a fine workaround...by setting the clock to "airplane" in user settings date and time and added 12 hours...so my camera think I'm 12 hours away in Japan. Odd. Peter
