  1. ...now listed as "Shipping Soon" as well.
  2. Adorama billed my card today! 9/06/16 For camera and all accessories. I'm not sure if that means they are shipping 9/7 for arrival 9/8 as other people are getting from other suppliers... My order status doesn't reveal anything except "backordered". Hoping to see a shipping notice later today!
  3. Nope...I think for some reason the images are very low resolution and are not displaying well? My guess. The sample images in the second video are extremely sharp. Peter
  4. ...again...praise for awesome autofocus! I'm starting to believe that maybe it isn't hype?! :-) I guess I will find out in a few days...come on Adorama! Peter

  9. New Firmware / Problem Solved: http://instax.com/share/en/firmware/
  10. The 56 1.2 is about the sharpest lens out there, but be forewarned it is not a fast focusing lens. Same for the 90. It may not be the best lens for a first experience with the Fuji X-T2, as it "under performs" the camera in so far as quickness. If you are coming from Nikon think first generation AF. It can be a bit frustrating of a lens. The images are spectacular, AF a bit not. I'd grab something else as a first lens to see how snappy the Fuji system can be. My 2 cents. 11. Yes. On the X-T2, as I understand it, you can operate from half press shutter/focus lock thru shutter release and back to half press/shutter release again without re-focusing.
  12. Adorama now says "manufacturer will start shipping this item on 09/08/16. Orders filled on a first come first served etc..." Not sure if that means they fly out of Japan on Sept. 8th or out from the dealer on Sept. 8th.
  13. Anyone have guidelines for predicting, and thus avoiding situations, where the "rolling shutter effect" happens on X cameras? I sometimes need to shoot with the electronic shutter (ES) for stealth. X-T10 and X-T1. But I find the pictures frequently spoiled by this effect. Maybe 10-15% of my pictures. Always the one with the best facial expressions! The triggers so far seem to be weird or old industrial lighting, lights with odd wavelengths, and subject movement. However I have had it occur even outside in sunshine. I need ideas on predicting and thus avoiding the effect. Politely: Please don't tell me it never happens to you. Or how Fuji needs to do this or that etc. I'm just seeking ideas on what others have done to avoid this effect. For those not familiar artifacts from the "rolling shutter effect" I have seen are either bands of horizontal lines across the image or the photo being warped like a "funhouse mirror". Both render the image unusable. Thanks in advance. Peter
  14. X-T1. 23mm f 1.4 (NON WR) I was photographing in the rain in Washington DC. I had been warned of an approaching thunderstorm. I'm not from the east coast and didn't realize how suddenly and violent these things can be. In a matter of seconds it was suddenly like standing under the shower with a 50 MPH wind. Even dropping to my knees under the umbrella did nothing. However, I was having a fun time. All excited. I was only 100 feet from the hotel lobby (DuPont Circle). I knew my camera was getting soaked but I thought it would be ok. In two seconds I was totally soaked. I stayed out shooting for another five minutes. In the hotel I noticed the viewfinder display had condensation on it. At this point I should have REMOVED THE BATTERY. I did not. The camera functioned for the next few minutes as I chimped pictures. Then it died. It never came on again. I tried drying it in rice etc. No good. In the end it was "beyond economical repair" and I got an insurance payment from my camera homeowners "rider policy". (FYI normal homeowners insurance doesn't cover loss outside of the home. Go figure. Outside of the home is extra $$$). In the end I got a shot I like a lot. I got insurance money for my X-T1. I learned to adjust to life with a single X-T10. I learned non WR lenses are NON WR. It was my own fault. Fuji never claimed the X-T1 and 23 f1.4 are WR. I want the 23 f2 WR. Peter
  15. I ordered mine with the standard grip adapter (MHG-XT2 Metal Hand Grip ) because the primary reason I switched from a full frame Canon mk3 to Fuji X was the reduction in size, weight, and "intimation factor". The battery grip soundly puts that in jeopardy. That being said I ordered the battery grip for those few times that I need that level of performance, and when size and weight and such isn't an issue. I don't like being found lacking a piece of equipment that I can slip in my bag, can be swapped out and removed, but is there when I need it. Maybe 5-10 % of the time. But that could be a real important shoot. I'd rather have it close by. At the other end I can strip the X-T2, with no extra grip at all, with the 18mm f2 (or 23 f2) and I have the other extreme, maybe a longer lens in a pocket with a battery. A lightweight and small discreet camera. It's a really great system you can make bigger. Never seen a DSLR that got smaller. Peter www.tmaxphoto.com www.kma438.com
  16. Ordered two on Adorama the evening it "went live" by compulsively "clicking-clicking-clicking" on the link until it went from "Unavailable" to "Available-Preorder". The moment it did I raced through the checkout process in about thirty seconds and was done. So I'm guessing I'm about as close to the top of the list as one can be. An absolute childish approach, I know. But I lost my X-T1 to rain in May during travel, and have been struggling along on a single X-T10 since then. (Why two? I will never travel or do a paid gig with one camera. I was a two camera Canon 5DIII shooter for many years. I abhor changing from lens to lens. I keep a wide or normal on one and a semi-long to long prime on the other. I have the advantage of a back-up if one camera fails. Re-enforced by having my X-T10 fail two weeks ago at work. Under warranty. Stuff happens. But I'm now shooting with a loaner from a friend.) I want my X-T2 system! LOL Peter www.tmaxphoto.com www.kma438.com
  17. I don't keep "minor accessory boxes" ...ie; under $200.00 Filters, grips, lens hoods. I keep all camera and lenses boxes for all the reasons listed by others.
  18. Keep. Every camera I ever bought was going to be my last. None has yet to be. Nikon FM, FM2, FM3, Leica,3, Leica 6, Canon 1,1n,10d, 1d, 5d,5d2,5d3,X Pro-1, X-T100, X-T1, Fuji 6x45, Pentax 6x45, Toyo 4x5, and all the associated lenses and accessories. All gone. KEH and everyone wants boxes. Figure $50-$150 dollars a box is my average return on box vs. no box resale. It's a BIG deal to most buyers. Peter
  19. SP-2 does NOT support direct print from Fuji cameras until late August 2016. Per Fuji: "Direct connection function for FUJIFILM digital cameras will be available around the end of August 2016. Before then, please send images to your smartphone first and then use instax SHARE app to print from instax SHARE SP-2." http://instax.com/share/en/faq/
  20. After many HOURS of frustration trying to connect and print directly from my X-10 to my brand new Fuji SP-2 SHARE Printer and failing I found BURIED in Fuji's website this: "Direct connection function for FUJIFILM digital cameras will be available around the end of August 2016. Before then, please send images to your smartphone first and then use Instax SHARE app to print from Instax SHARE SP-2." Link to website: http://instax.com/share/en/faq/ I'm not happy with a product being shipped and released to me a full month before one of the, if not the, most important function is not working. I'm further annoyed and bothered by there being NO MENTION in the SP-2 manual of the direct printing not ACTUALLY working. In fact you can find all sorts of instructions online on how to print directly from the X cameras to SP-1's and SP-2's. There is ZERO MENTION of the fact that the SP-2 doesn't actually work in the direct printing mode! I found the answer deep down in all Fuji's literature, but not in their support page, or instructions. So if you can't connect your fantastic X camera to the new SHARE Printer SP-2 this is why. On another note...the printer otherwise works fine when printing from smartphone using the share app. The print quality is just "OK". A bit muddy, especially wide shots. I'd give the quality a 3 out of 5. I was hoping for a better uptick from the SP-1. I will probably keep it despite it not being ready for prime time. Meaning you can't direct print from Fuji cameras.... It's a cool little gimmick that kids and families, parties, will love. Peter ps: this is a copy of my post in from another photo forum...hoping to get out the word so folks don't waste hours trying to make the thing work.
  21. You indicate it worked before...and now doesn't....makes me wonder if you accidently changed a setting. Are you in a "custom iso setting"...in which the base iso and highest iso can be mandated? In other words, check your iso settings again, etc. You can always reset the camera....as it seems you explored the settings somewhat already.... I'm doubtful a dial is broken. Unless you dropped the camera mechanical things seldom break... I have SWORN my camera is defective on thousands of occasions...it has always been a setting or my unfamiliarity with a function/setting. Best of luck...let us know what happened. Peter
  22. Already active thread here: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/2884-x-t1-freezing/
  23. A suggestion....one you might have done: Format the card and reset the camera.... Cheap internet advice. :-) Good luck. Peter
