  1. The plugin detects the original raw file and ignore the output tiff from Lightroom. But the resulted image is saved into that tiff.
  2. There are many threads for this. I will resume the easiest solution (I personally use it). Buy X-Transformer for Windows from Iridient, it's really cheap and it doesn't change the workflow that much. 1) convert your RAF with this tool 2) import the DNG results into Lightroom 3) work with Lightroom as usual (apply film simulation if you want) Some subject/pattern are less affected by this pattern so I don't use the tool for all images. The tool can be also used as a Lightroom external editor. In that case, you import your RAF, and you convert from Lightroom, it's even easier but requires minor configuration.
  3. Thanks for sharing your experience and opinions. For now I'm happy with my 2 FD lenses, and since I just bought a X-T2, I will wait before buying other lenses
  4. I just switched from X-T1 to X-T2 and I'm wondering if the lossless raw captures images in 14 bit. Based on this post, lossless is 12 bit https://alikgriffin.com/uncompressed-vs-lossless-fujifilm-x-t2/ I can't find the official information from Fuji
  5. Do you mean to uncheck "Turn off Lightroom sharpening" and "Turn off Lightrooom Luminance NR"? Or choosing "None" in the dropdown as well? Thanks
  6. Because GFX
  7. I have ordered one! Merci du partage
  8. The light was better today....
  9. Thank you all, you have answered my question!
  10. Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my X-T1 for a X-T2 in next days, and I'm wondering if I should also replace my extra battery for the new 's' model. Do you know if the USB charging from the camera would work, or if it could impact something else? Thanks
  11. Yes I really like it so far. And I also got a Canon FD 300mm f4 L which is pretty good! That last one was pricey so I will wait before buying other lenses.
  12. Ultra compact lightweight f2 Vs Big f4 4x heavier Each lens has its own reason to exists.
  13. If you open directly the X-Transformer app and convert a file, the result will be a DNG. But if you launch X-Transformer from Lightroom (configured as an external editor), the result will be a TIFF. But the result and size are the same.
  14. You can run a quick benchmark just to see if your CPU is working as expected. This standalone program http://www.userbenchmark.com/ is really usefull; it compares your computer with other computers with same specifications. A couple of days ago, This program helped me to find issues with my CPU. Also, do you have a SSD drive? Such drive can boost any computer and since Lightroom is writing all single action to its database, a SSD with high write speed will help. But keep in mind that unfortunately, Adobe is sold to Mac.... They don't put that much effort to optimize their Windows applications. Even their iOS apps are generally more complete than Android. But for me.... I willl never buy an Apple product, but that's me! Additionally, you can also download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to get some stats from your CPU (temperature, frequency, turbo boost, etc.). Again, this helped me to figure out that the turbo boost feature was disabled.
  15. I recently received a Canon FD 300mm f4 L lens (1979) and I did a few tests today with my X-T1. Unfortunately the light was really bad... I hope it will be better next time.
  16. I know! And yesterday I have found this review: https://phillipreeve.net/blog/canon-fd-300mm-4-l-review/ I really want to get the Fuji 100-400 in the future (maybe late this year or early next year) to shoot wild life. This 300mm f4 lens could be a really good option too. Sure there is no AF or stabilization, but for the kind of animals I like to shoot (moose, fox, deer, bears), I think it could work great, using a monopod. For small birds in flight, it's a different story, but it's not my goal.
  17. I finally decided to buy the Canon New FD 50mm f1.4 and I can't wait to receive it! I think my next lens will be the Helios 44-2, and I must admit that having a 85mm f1.8 is tempting
  18. Great colletion atadpole13! For sure I know that I will buy the Helios 58 f2 as a second vintage lens, for its special boken and to bring some creativity. But for a day to day use, and capture great portraits and flowers and wide apertures, I'm now debating between a Canon FDn 50mm f1.4, a Minolta MC Rokkor-PG 50mm f/1.4, Pentax M 50mm f1.7 SMC and a Takumar SMC 55mm f1.8 I read somewhere that Canon might be usable at f1.4 (less soft than other models, also better contrast), but the Takumar has better bokeh and also really sharp at 1.8
  19. Thank you guys for your comments, really appreciated. Andrea, as discussed I find your offering interesting. Would be an easy solution to enter in this world without headache. It seems that this lens is quite good staring at f2. The biggest issue being the flare but I could live with this. I will continue reading on this topic on the next days and will make a decision later about your lense, if it's still available. I have also read good comments about Super Takumar 50 or 55 1.4 as well as some Minolta 1.7 in that focal range. But I was not aware of the radioactivity of some lenses I'll see. The big issue for me, it to buy a lens from ebay by making sure that 1) will fit on my Fuji (choosing the right adapter) and 2) it's in good condition. Sebastien
  20. Ok first, I know absolutely nothing about old lenses, and it's even worse when it comes to all adapters available That being said, I feel that this kind of lens would be really fun to use, make me learn about 'old photography' and give some unique pictures. I own a Fuji X-T1 (comming from Nikon DSLR) and a few lenses so far (12mm f2, 35mm f2, 18-55, 55-200). While I was looking for a portrait lens (between 50 and 80mm), I started to think about that kind of lens. Portrait is not my main kind of photography, so I don't want to spend too much on that.... and my budget will go over a X-T2 and other Fuji lenses really soon. So, my question, what would be your suggestion as a first entry in that world... my criteria: - easy to use - cheap... because I don't know if I will like this kind of lens - great for portrait / flowers - usable at its largest aperture - I don't care about dimension and weight, I don't plan to bring that lens always with me, unless I fall in love with its character ! Other than ebay, is there a good specialized online store that you would suggest? Thanks
  21. I would suggest to buy a larger filter and many cheap adapters. I have a 77mm that fits all my lenses
  22. Really nice pictures, thanks for sharing
  23. I also prefer the results from Iridient and kimcarsons. I purchased Irident x-transformer on day 1 and I'm more than happy with the results, and it doesn't affect too much my workflow with LR. Before Iridient comes out, I have tried Raw Therapee. The amount of details was better than LR but I found too many artifacts and chromatic aberration....but I have to admit that I haven't played enough with all options.
  24. When I moved to Fuji, I decided to sell my Lee 100mm filters and get a few 77mm circular B+W MRC ND filters, in order to have a lighter kit, and I'm pretty happy so far. I have the 3 and 10 stops, and I plan to get the 6 stops someday. My copy of 10 stops does require to fix the white balance. I now always carry at least one ND filter with me; which was not the case with Lee.
  25. The beta 2 is now available http://www.iridientdigital.com/products/xtransformer_download.html
