It's not possible to transfer images over wifi to a Mac?
milandro replied to oxjox's topic in General Discussion
it looks like you can do it like this http://owenbillcliffe.co.uk/fujifilm-xt1-tether-lightroom-mac/ http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/hsv5/plugin_01/ http://www.fujirumors.com/hallelujah-fuji-x-t1-lightroom-tethered-shooting-plug-in-avaiable-at-adobe-exchange-for-29-for-macwindows/ -
I am afraid that wishful thinking is not a good advisor. Sentimental reasons don’t inspire Fuji into camera making and certainly not into making cameras which are actually making them a loss ( which was the case with the series X-10-20-30 ). Fuji is a company, with a large number of shareholders seeking to see a return over their investment, they make camera to sell them, if they don’t sell them they quickly re-thing their strategy. Pull models from the market ( as they did in a quick movement X-30 ) when they are not producing satisfactory sales. The new camera which they “ announced” via the rumors, appears to be a tuned down version of the XA-3 the XA-10, in no way shape or form connected with the X-10-20-30 series. http://www.fujirumors.com/fujifilm-x-a10-specs-leaked-16mp-no-touch-screen-and-cheap/ They expect to sell this camera in the far east and especially in Thailand, its forerunners did very well there and very bad in the rest of the world. Despite their good sales of the X-T2, overall the company sold less this last financial year than before. They are putting this into a perspective and saying that it has to do with a weak yen , which dos play a role. But the reality is that there are not too many (aside from X-T2 buyers) who are buying new cameras or cameras “ tout court”. The whole of the photographic sector is in steady decline with the exception of the more “ professional” models. In particular the mirrorless generation has given new élan to the sector but overall, photography is in a rough spot. http://www.fujirumors.com/fujifilm-presents-financial-results-fiscal-year-20173-2nd-quarter-fujifilm-x-t2-sold-well/ On cameras and where they are at now, careful very long video... @https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGp3JXKtHBM

according to this manual (page 33) http://fujifilm-x.com/app/x-pro1/en/pdf/x_pro1_photographersGuide_en02.pdf you press the AF button and then you rotate the dial to adjust the size of the AF area "Rotate to the left to reduce the size of the focus frame, right to increase, or press the command dial to restore the frame to its normal size. There are five sizes of focus frame available. "

All simulations are always shown in the EVF. You can’t see a raw image, what you see is always a jpeg with any raw processor, embedded in the raw picture. I have never known any better than once you’ve chosen your simulation that is what you visualize. You can, alternatively, shoot raw+fine and have a raw, color, picture and a black and white but what you will see will be the simulated picture of your choice.

All the best wishes. Hanging a camera from his neck will be painful maybe a wrist strap will have to do at least for the time being?

X-Pro2 Eyecup missing

I am lost for words -
...K&F are very good adapters.
-
There are some of the very early ones ( generally in Aluminum mount) which were 39 x 1 ( leica screw). So, most Helioses are M42 thread, I have an adapter by K7F concept, a tilt adapter by Kipon, and I have a Lens Turbo II Zhonghy which all fit perfectly an Helios. But I have a Meyer Görlitz Oreston (also M42, one would think) which doesn’t fit all these three adapters.

so, the so called Kaizen for the X-T1 and 2 has been suspended because it had, apparently, again, some sort of bug. However what was revealed is that, as predicted above^, the X-T1 will only receive a technical upgrade ( this time something to do with a flash). I don’t use any flash with my X-T1 camera and won’t “ upgrade”, but it is now more than clear that the upgrades containing real new camera functions seem to have reached their end station. No more goodies, just technical upgrades for new lenses or flashes in production or to come. Meanwhile they have reconsidered the official designation of “ discontinued cameras" of the X-T10 and X-E2S. Probably just to give a chance to the various shops with some remaining stock to get rid of them. At my local shop they say that they still have them but that, due to the release of the new models, they aren’t selling any, not even at discounted prices. That is, methinks, hardly surprising because no-one wants to buy yesteryear flavor of the month. Funny how some people who rushed into buying the newest camera still seem to take the same pictures they took before. Apparently they didn’t find the chops that they were looking for in the box where the new cameras came. they might as well have saved a lot of money if they stayed with their more than sufficient box.

Believe it or not, now, according to some forum members, your camera looks exactly like it should and they’ve actually worked with steel wool and sandpaper on their camera to make it look like this one of yours! So, now you can say that the camera has a “pro look” too! Years ago my Pentax 6 x 7 fell from the tripod ( I thought it was safely screwed on the thing but it wasn’t), the result was just a dent on the corner of the top brass section of the camera. I had it replaced despite the fact that the camera was operational and the funny thing was that my camera got a new serial number (because the part which was replaced was the part where the serial number was).

X-A1 vs X-A2
milandro replied to TheHobbit's topic in Fuji X-M1 / Fuji X-A1 / Fuji X-A3 / Fuji X-A5 / Fuji X-A7 / Fuji X-A20
of course they will -
the 18-55 is a great piece of kit, the best all purpose affordable lens for the Fuji system.
-
my local shop cleans sensors for €29 and they do a good job, a friend went there few days ago with his camera and they gave him a complimentary cleaning, as far as we both can tell, they did a great and faultless job. Took few minutes.

The Fuji mountain has just given birth to a mouse, but again they generally know their onions and have produced this targeted to a special market which seems to favor a cheap camera over the smart-phone options. Why that is is not clear to me, apparently Fuji has identified that that particular market has a large amount of female customers whom are particularly attracted to the Fuji shape and colors. It is not even that those Fuji cameras are cheap over there because, all things considered, they are very expensive compared to the average earnings of the Thai population. I don’t think that the “ Kodak” ( well, the British company which bought the brand really...) formula of an Android phone pretending to be a camera is going to win over the same kind of customers who buy X cameras. Horse for courses.

I have owned the 35 f1.4 and the 18-55mm and decided to sell the 35mm because I wasn’t using the 35 all that much. I had used the 35 a lot, before acquiring the 18-55 but once I had that lens I saw no reason to keep the 35. these are the three lenses all at their maximum aperture

It is a problem. How common or wide spread is unknow. Of course you only hear from people whom complain about it, the ones who don’t don’t generally say that they don’t have a problem. I know severa other users whom, like me, don’t have a problem with it.

How cheap we shall see. So this will be practically the same as the X-A2? 16Mp, no touchscreen and dirt cheap. The XA ( 1 & 2 ) series was totally irrelevant to the Fuji Sales in Europe and the North and south America, Australia & NZ. In the NL the “ serious” camera shops didn’t even sell it and most were only able to purchase one from on line sellers. Many bought the forebears of these new camera because they came with two kit zooms ( 16-50 and 55-230mm) at a cost lower than the sum of the cost of the lenses getting the camera as a bonus and many were, then, resold at a pittance ( although some people actually discovered that they liked the sensor more than the X-Trans). I predict that only selling this camera in a kit with some very cheap but desirable lens ( as it previously happened) will give the camera a chance. In every other respect this will be a totally irrelevant camera for us in Europe or the North and South America, Australia & NZ. In these countries the minority of the people whom still use cameras to take pictures ( unfortunately the majority has abandoned the use of cameras altogether) seem to want a different type of camera. Cheper models do very badly and only more expensive ones fly off the shelf. X-Pro2 and X-T2 were and are still sold like hot cakes as soon as they showed up, mostly bought by people whom already owned previous expensive models all of whom ( with few exceptions, including yours truly) will be landing on the secondhand pile the moment they realize that they never use the old “ back-up” camera.

really unbelievable these marketing mechanics. Fuji loses everywhere in the world in the cheaper camera segment, targeted to the entry level amateur and as a family camera, with the exception of the South East Asia where they apparently sell loads of these selfie oriented camera. Frankly speaking I can’t understand which are the reasons to use a proper camera to take mostly selfies but they must see it. Cameras ownership within this public in the rest of the world is very low because these people tend to shoot everything with their phones. I am not sure whether in Thailand ( and the rest of SE Asia) this might be different due to particular socio-political situations. Fact is that it is a unique phenomenon in cameras world.
