  1. The current sales will officially be over on the 27th
  2. Agree. And also Gnocchi alla Romana, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, Spaghetti allo scoglio, Melanzane alla Parmigiana, Tortellini alla Ricotta, Branzino alla griglia, risotto ai frutti di mare... damn, food in Italy is just great !
  3. Rome... my favorite city on earth, taken with my favorite camera on earth, the X-E2 (now dead)
  4. they still had to invent the Selfie Stick, though
  5. You've been to Rivendell? just kidding... a very nice place. It reminds me to the waterfalls of Plitvice.
  6. I was in Tuscany + Rome last summer. I had the 18-55, 55-200 and 35 (I never travel with more than 3 lenses) Zooms are indeed very hand for travels. The trinity I took covered pretty much everything, but I missed the 14 for some dramatic extra wide landscape shots. My ideal travel combo would be the 10-24, 18-135 and 23mm. But sadly I don't own the two zooms.
  7. Who said that the Selfie culture is a modern phenomenon? In fact, it's as old as photography itself. See the probably first selfie ever made back in 1839! Learn more here: http://thenakedcamera.com/even-older-selfies-self-portraits-from-early-20th-and-19th-century/
  8. A source, who was right in the past, and is on the best way to become trusted, told me that the Fuji manager, who said the firmware will come on the 22, is wrong, and the firmware will come on the 25th, as usual early in the morning London Time… of course if Fuji doesn’t find a last second bug I have no reason to doubt this source, and if this rumor is correct too, it will become a trusted source. For me, the new release date is the 25. Rumor here: http://www.fujirumors.com/the-x-t1-firmware-4-0-coming-on-june-25/
  9. Hm... maybe just becuase I own it . It's a bit wider and cheaper. But since you are going to rent it anyway, price is not a matter to take into consideration. The big advantage of the 16 is that it's faster and that could be in fact very handy for night shots in the narrow alleys of Italian cities. Decisions. Let me know what you go for, and feel free share some pics here on the Forum. And speaking of narrow alleys: don't miss to have dinner (and good wine) in Trastevere. The perfect place to chill after a whole day of walk in Rome
  10. Forgot: it's prohibited to take photos in the sistine chapel.... so be discrete & silent and use tilt screen and electronic shutter. Oh... Make the ticket for Chapel online.... you will skip the terrific queue and save hours!!! http://www.museivaticani.va/3_EN/pages/z-Info/MV_Info_Orari.html
  11. I'd go for the 14 (architecture & landscape) and 35 (fast allrounder)
  12. A source, who was right in the past, told us that the X-T2 will be announced from 2 to 4 months after the X-PRO2. Remember, the X-PRO2 announcement could be in late 2015 (according to this rumor). It all looks like we are going to have an epic battle: X-PRO2 Vs. X-T2, Rangefinder Vs. DSLR-shape, HVF Vs. EVF… FXF discussion: If the X-PRO2 and X-T2 were both released tomorrow, which one would you go for?
  13. That's a nice lens hood for the 23mm For an origianal lens hood, you might check ebay. Found this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/351407830758?clk_rvr_id=846725539374&rmvSB=true You can get it cheaper made by third party here: http://www.amazon.com/Camkitmate-LH-XF1855-Fujifiml-XF14mm-XF18-55mm/dp/B00XOW66M2/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1433999114&sr=1-3&keywords=XF+18-55+lens+hood
  14. it's great to have you on the FXF, Daniel
  15. Yes. That actually surprised me. I was sure the majority would want one, but, at least amongst FR readers, there is not that much interest for it.
  16. Well, so there are hopes that your lobbying was succesful I remember the interview with Toshi, I've shared it on FR. I remember Toshi also loved the idea of a monochrome camera... does this mean Fuji will also make it, along with the MF camera? Is it strange that no source told me about? Should I quickly post a rumor "fuji will make a monochrome camera?" Does the fact that Toshi mentioned MF and monochrome automatically mean they will make them both? I don't know... maybe. What I know is that I can share rumors only when I get them from sources (and I have their permission to share them). Sometimes sources see products coming months (or years) ahead of the release, sometimes they don't see it coming until days before the announcement (X-A2 XQ2)... and sometimes they see things coming that do not exist. That's the way rumors go
  17. LOL... quite true... you can buy more cameras than lenses at Sony btw, I'm thinking at a Medium Format camera... but I hope Fuji will make it first
  18. And that's what drives me mad. I post a rumor, Fuji changes (or has already changed) plans, the rumor is outdated... it happened often in the past. And also this can happen: 1) Fuji plans a product 2) I write a rumor about it 3) Fuji drops plans for the product 4) I write that Fuji killed plans --- Shitstorm on FR --- 5) After 2 years, Fuji has plans again to make 6) The rumor that was right, then wrong, is now right again. --- Shitstorm on FR --- I tell you, running a rumor site is not easy at all.
  19. The Metz insolvency is indeed old news... the fact that Metz was supposed to make the Fuji flash is also old news (I leaked this information already back in 2014). There was never any official confirmation about the fact, that the Fuji flash was planed to be manufactured by Metz, and I also earned the usual shitstorm because saying it. Now I'm happy to hear that the sources were right... and also todays rumor. Or better, I'm not really happy... there are rumors where I hope to be wrong. But apparently I'm not. Still a long way to go for the flash
  20. I’ve just received an email from a new source, with a bad news… if it’s true. The source said that, during a Fuji event in Canada, a Fuji Guy told him that the long expected (and urgently needed) flash will be delayed, hence not come this spring as told us last year by a trusted source. So was the trusted source wrong? No, it wasn’t. It’s just another case of a rumor shared too early. Fuji’s plan really was to launch this flash (rumored to be made by Metz) in spring, but the insolvency of Metz has changed everything…. the release of the flash has been pushed back. I have no information about the fact if Fuji will continue to cooperate with Metz or if they are looking for a new partner.
  21. I'll make the start, with a Poll request shared by a follower in the past: If people could buy an X-T2, X-PRO2 or an X-E3 with the identical capabilities, which would they go for (if they have identical capabilities)? 1) X-T2 2) X-PRO2 3) X-E3
  22. Hi all. Now that we have evidence that Fujifilm reads our comments and likes our Polls, I thought we could collect some ideas for Polls here on the FXF and then I will share the most liked ones on FujiRumors. So, feel free to - formulate you question + the options to vote
  23. XF 100-400 Recap: – July 2014: Fujifilm releases a new roadmap, showing a super tele-photo zoom lens coming in late 2015. – Photokina, September 2014: Fujifilm shows XF 140-400 mock-up with an aperture range that goes from F4 to F5.6. – February 2015: Fujifilm updates the roadmap and now shows an XF 100-400 coming in early 2016… no aperture range indication on the roadmap – CP+, February 2015: a journalist of ValueTechTV says that the XF 100-400 release was delayed, because Fuji decided to change the aperture range at the wide end and make it slower and smaller. – The latest roadmap spotted by FR-reader Stalkdog here, shows that Fuji will release the XF 100-400 in March 2016. Now, FR-reader aki noted, that the roadmap shows an XF 100-400 that is 4.5 at the wide and 5.6 at the long end, confirming what the journalist at ValueTech said.
