ES or MS+ES = No AF-Tracking MS Only = AF Tracking is possible Face Detection ON = Tracking is possible, but only with CDAF Face Detection OFF = Tracking is possible, with PDAF and CDAF CH = Tacking is possible only using the part of the sensor covered by phase detection pixels. Zone AF only with 3x3 or 5x3 box (no 5x5). CL = All new AF-Tracking options are enabled.

FYI In CL you can use all new AF features, so wide tracking with contrast detection all over the frame and zone AF wit 3x3 - 5x3 - 5x5 box In CH you can use only the part of the sensor covered by PDAF. So no wide tracking all over the frame and no 5x5 box

Did you had the following settings? Mechanical Shutter (MS) only. Focus between each shot (in CL or CH) doesn’t work with MS+ES (electronic shutter) enabled Turn Off face detection to enable PDAF High Performance Mode ON

Why not simply call it "Sound & Flash" and then you turn in ON or OFF, how you prefer? Does it make sense for you?
