well, then all we can do is just to wait and see what happens "towards the end of the year". Maybe nothing, as you suggest... or maybe the FW will really come. Time will tell

At the beginning it was "just" a rumor. then 1) Fuji France said they plan to release an X-E2 firmware as soon as possible 2) Fujifilm confirmed via twitter that they "plan to produce" a FW update "towards the end of 2015" ... they did not share the technical content, though 3) and now it's rumor time again: the New Firmware will bring the new AF-System to the X-E2 More here: http://www.fujirumors.com/the-fujifilm-x-e2-will-get-the-new-af-system-at-the-end-of-this-year-new-source/
