  1. Hi, I'm Paulo, from Portugal. 2 months ago, I decide to change from Canon DSLR system ( 5 years of use ) to Fuji X ( X-T1 ). Currently own one X-T1 and an 35 mm 1.4R. Working to get 16-50 2.8 and a 55-200 ( depending on Canon sales ). One of main propose of change is to get life "easier" on handling and pos-edition. With Canon I start to get tired to travel with an 7D, 10-22, 24-105, etc... In the same way I was spending to much time working on RAW files, even for passionate photos. I work with stock agencies ( beginner level ), and have done small works ( motorized sports ). So far I'm impressed with JPG quaility, Easy Handling and EVF of X-T1. Lastly, my English isn't the greatest. I read/translate it very well, but still having some issues writing it.
  2. New Fuji user here but I've been a full time photographer for the last 15 years. Just picked up the X-T4 and a couple f/2 crons. Really happy with the system so far but I really enjoy mounting vintage glass to the body. The results are stunning.
  3. only 69 (good number) i love photography from my 15. voigtlander, bronica ETR then nikon F2, from 1976 then D............D800. i was looking for light equipement but whith good results. i own xt1 and with 56 and 23 i got the result i was looking for. I use fujinon lense in large format and was confident and now very awaiting new firmware for af improvement mainly for 50 140 which i own. i am specialy happy with no noise when shooting in concert and very good results in low light.
  4. Hi All, I'm an ex-Brit who somehow landed in the Bahamas 17 years ago. First picked up a camera in 2007, and rapidly found myself being booked as a wedding and portrait photographer. No formal training, and living on a 22 mile x 7 mile rock means there's no groups, stores or learning resources here other than the internet, so I, and my work, am a product of experimentation. April 2014 I ditched my two Canon 5D Mk IIIs and made the move to a pair of X-T1s. Haven't looked back. Still shooting weddings and portraits/families, but also a fair amount of studio based product photography, a little bit of boudoir and, when I have to or the money's right, a little bit of real estate/architectural, though I find little joy in shooting anything without people in it.
  5. Hi, i got back into photography about 15 years ago an was shooting with Canon gear until the past year. I initially got the X-E2 just to play around with mirrorless and then got the X-T1 about 6 months ago. I subsequently sold all my Canon gear and am full Fuji. Equipment list: Bodies: X-E2, X-T1 Lenses: 18-55, 18-135, 10-24, 55-200, 56 mm 1.2 Flash: Nissin i40 I mostly do landscape photography but have started working on portrait work with the 56, which is an amazing lens. I'm sold on Fuji and am also looking forward to the 4.0 firmware. You can view my work at my website.
  6. Hello! My name is Chris, aged 52, general IT- and bike-nerd. I discovered photography when I was about 15 yo and found my great-grandfathers Rolleiflex and my mothers old Kodak. Later I bought Ricoh KR-10M that got stolen. Lucky insured me was then able to buy a Nikon F3HP, which later led to having my own darkroom. Cue forward a few years, when I started to work, the wonderful hobby slowly was forgotten. Not completely, but only for the sake of point and shoot compact cameras. The last one actually was a Fujifilm X20. Last year I bought a Sony alpha 7C but have to admit that I am not completely happy with it. My significant other made me go through a lot of questions what I really want and/or need, but I just bought an X-T3 anyway. And maybe even an X-Pro 3 in the not too distant future.
  7. Retired living in West Virginia .... own x-e1,x-e3,x100v, 14,16/2.8, 23, 27, 35/1.4, 50/2, 15-45 Love fuji's film simulation jpegs and shooting mostly b&w Desire an x-pro3

  9. Representing the San Francisco Bay Area, I started at an early age on a gifted Canon AE-1 and was hooked for life. Since then, traveled from film to digital to film and back again. Old rangefinders are still my #1. Alas, the cost of lab and home developing pushed me to digital in the early 2000's, and I bought the og Canon 300D (2003?!). Forayed in various canon gear, until the X-E1 came out and was just blown away with the design (did I mentioned I love old rangefinders) and SOOC capabilities. Throw in weight savings and access to great glass and I immediately divested in Canon (no regrets). Shooting digital has always made me yearn for film and I still shoot a Leica M6 and Ricoh GR1v from time to time when the budget allows for it. My current kit is an X-T1 with 18-55 attached (14 and 23 in the bag) and a Sony A7 with a v2 35mm summicron (Jupiter 8 in the bag) Shooting experience: 15+ years Favorite focal length: 35mm Favorite fuji lens: 23mm f/1.4 (14mm very close second) Favorite subject matter: street, travel Currently trying to master: off camera lighting/flash
  10. Hi everyone, I'm a new member and a new Fuji shooter. Bought the XT-2 with the 18-55 mm Kit lens. Also got the 55-200mm zoom lens. Very nice stuff. In old days I was shooting with my Canon AE-1 and A1 with prime lenses and the wonderful 80-200mm zoom. The last 15 years, sadly, I was using only Superzoom bridges, Sony and Lumix. Restrospectively I must say it was a boring time compared to the fun using the XT-2. I bought some FD-FX adapter (no speedbooster) so I'm glad I can use my beloved Canon lenses again. The adapters are fine and the IQ of those old lenses are excellent, specially the FD 50mm/1.4 SSC Cheers, Mario
  11. Hello, everyone, my name is Kevin. I just picked up a new X-T4 with the 18-55 and got a few other goodies to go with it. I have a 23 and 35 F2 lenses coming in soon. My plan is to start doing bushcraft adventures and record and photograph my adventures. I have been into photography since I was little. I remember using the first paycheck from my first job to buy a used pentax which I still have. My first digital was an Olympus E-volt 510. Nice camera when it came out and it still takes nice pictures, but I need something more. Fuji seems to make the best hardware out there so since its been 15 years since I bought a camera its time for a switch. Looking forward to learning how to use a camera again (it has sadly been a while since I pulled one out) and learning to do video now as well as editing afterwards. Now to just get over the intimidation factor and get shooting right?
  12. Scorpius with some Milk(y Way) on the side... This image is also the equivalent of just over 15 minutes exposure. A lot of passing clouds got into this one, but they opened up for the constellation. More Antares info: https://skyandtelescope.org/observing/meet-antares-the-star-that-is-not-mars/ https://www.space.com/21905-antares.html
  13. Milky Way in May... This is equivalent to a just-a-touch-over 15 minutes exposure. Milky Way season is underway, and locally, the Milky Way is starting to rotate from landscape mode to portrait mode (it should be fully rotated to vertical in about a month, give or take a few days). On the right side, in this image, the Scorpius Constellation is rising. Antares is the big yellow-red star in Scorpius. https://earthsky.org/constellations/scorpius-heres-your-constellation/ https://www.constellation-guide.com/constellation-list/scorpius-constellation/ I hope to be able to post a version that is more centered on the constellation.
  14. I'd wait for next Fuji rebates for all lens. The closest one announced on FR is on May 22.
  15. They differ... at first, I thought it was the videos over 15 min or so, but today I noticed a few around 4-5 min were not working either.
  16. I know about this issue but i start using ES becasue I thought that X-H2S is designed specially for shooting moving objects as it has sensor with the fastes readout on a market and drive modes 30fps and 40fps avalible only in ES. And in ES you doesn't have blackout, freezing or low frame rate in evf during continous shooting. But i'll try do few test to chceck 30 and 40 fps and also MS, becase to date I used only 15 and 20fps. Me friend who shoot also airplanes with Canon R5 use ES and had problems but related to the IS which was fixed by updating lens firmware. That's why i strated suspecting that may OIS can do bad job during handheld paning. I'm guessing what for example do the subject tracking. I found that after turn it on, you can't change metering mode, can't change limiter in camera, and maybe there are more settings blocked, maybe it changes how OIS work during paning?
  17. I'm tracking airplanes, taking photos during paning . I use AF-C, ES and 15 or 20FPS, subject tracking off, center point or center zone. In static shots OIS is very efficent because I can take sharp photos on 140mm and 1/10s but with paning maybe the best option is to keep up shutter times 2xfocal lenght. Today i took a series of photos on the times close to focal lenght. Many of those was shaked only in small areas. For example plane was sharp but nose or winglet or end of tail was slightly shaked. Maybe i have to use 30 or 40 fps?
  18. owning every piece of gear doesn't make one an expert and it certainly doesn't make them a professional photographer. it just makes them a gear hoarder i expect a flagship CAMERA to perform where it matters: image quality (video or stills), autofocus and whatever else it promises to bring to the table, in this case speed (fps, video or whatever). and in those aspects it surely delivers, judging from what RESULTS i've seen from actual photographers (sorry, but i can't take the guy seriously when all he does for 22 minutes is sit on his chair and fondle the camera saying how s*it it is). the MCS switch point has been made clear above. when apple first removed the charging brick from the box everyone cried out and laughed. how long did it take for others to follow? 6 months at most for samsung and then all the others
