  1. To the best of my knowledge, the X-Pro1 is NOT weather sealed.
  2. It usually sells higher in the U.S. Asian countries close to HK and Japan benefits slightly from distance, policy and exchange rates. Street price should be USD$1,699.00 - 1,799.00....realistically. I hope...
  3. I guess a heavier X-Pro2 will give better balance with larger lenses. Bigger? No diff to me as the X-Pro1 is already quite big.......
  4. Some shops do offer a pre "pre-order" service on a "willing seller-willing buyer" basis on the mutual understanding that prices can be adjusted a little. I've pre purchased items this way before without issues.
  5. Funny, I use reading glasses but the X-Pro1 EVF looks sharp to me. Always wondered....
  6. YES!!! Grain is better than noise reduction.
  7. Haha...this is getting hilariously funny.
  8. Fujifilm can just add an "M" together with the "A" in it's ISO selection on the pull up dial. When you set it to "M", iso is selected by pressing the custom Fn button next to the trigger like how we can on the X-Pro1. Otherwise, I think most people just leave it at "A".
  9. I can't recall which camera I used previously, had a combined dial button. I had to pull the outer dial/grip to turn the inner iso settings. It's spring loaded and when you let it go, it'll become the shutter dial grip again. The lock button on the top only locks the shutter settings. My bet is that the X-Pro2 combined buttons will perform this way.
  10. Fantastic. Love it. Only hope they stiffen the on/off lever. I keep knocking mine and switching it on accidentally. Can't wait to see the picture IQ. Where's the "Pre-Order" button, Patrick?
  11. Probably not.....but I'd still be tempted and will decide base on the picture IQ.
  12. Where's the "Pre-Order" button?
  13. Welcome! Congrats on the x-t10. What kinda photography do you like?
  14. Bird watchers and sports photographers will be thrilled.
  15. I observed that in certain parts of the world, the "rangefinder" format is still considered the grand daddy of more compact camera formats. Asian culture places more emphasis on "honoring" the elders. A cultural hierarchy still observed today in most Asian countries. I'm assuming that could be why the X-Pro is still the flagship. Strategically, the X-Pro may not be better technically than the X-T range but it does cater somewhat towards a group who don't mind a "slower" pace of photography especially with equal or better picture IQ. I enjoy the challenge of photography with the X-Pro tremendously. Even though I can take more keepers with the 5D3.
  16. Hi and welcome. Sounds like something unusual is wrong. As far as I know, this is not typical of the xpro1. Do have a service center check it out. Good luck.
  17. Putting beside your laptop is fine. Just avoid the air vents. Heat and dust is best avoided. Best place is the dry cabinet. Otherwise, leave it out in the open where there is air movement. You may want to cover it with a lint free cloth to keep dust away. If you're going to store your camera for a long time, avoid leaving it in the bag. I had a lens left in one of my bag for over 5 years. Sure enough, the fungus got to it. The rest of my lenses which was left on the shelves were fine. Now, everything's in the dry box or the shelves with a cloth over them.
  18. Doesn't make any sense.
  19. Welcome. I'd recommend the XF16 F1.4, XF23 F1.4, XF35 F1.4 and the XF56 F1.2 For compactness, the XF14 F2.8, XF27 F2.8, XF35 F1.4 For street, XF18 F2, XF27 F2.8 and XF35 F1.4 If you just want to try out one lens, the XF35 F1.4. From here, you'd want to get everything else. Have fun!
  20. Nice link. Thanks for sharing. Kathy does have a very nice office! She certainly does have a great eye for composition. Sometimes I think that GAS is more about searching for THAT camera than acquiring more cameras (if we ever will)....... as an example, I shot with the old Canon A1 for a decade and never looked for anything else. What I changed often were films. They made all the difference. Then came digital. The 5D was and is still a great camera but the "film" built into that body is good till say iso1600?...before I knew it I was looking for a more sensitive "digital" film, a new camera.....the rest is history. Perhaps we haven't really reached digital photography maturity yet for us to stop our GAS.
  21. I agree and see the same things. Lesser difference in good daylight shots but still a difference. I wonder how much does the iPad generation care....
  22. Mala tempora currunt sed peiora parantur! Well, globalization and fast communication speed seems to make our cash flow upwards....that is to the big corporations. I am not sure where the money goes to from there. Currency seems to disappear nowadays... I'm going to retire in a small quiet town somewhere...and do slow photography.
  23. Having said that, under normal circumstances, the smartphone cameras does seem to be getting very close to say, an entry level dslr. I wonder if it would be right to say that in the short future, they may equal? What more with Sony pushing sensor technology the way they are now.
  24. With smartphone and all, photographs does feel a lot less valuable. During the film era, you'd try to preserve that photograph the best that you can. Taking them out once in a while to look at and reminiscence. Nowadays, people just store 'em in clouds. Sometimes I wonder if they ever flip through the 10 thousand or more snap shots they have. In these context, I'd like to think of smartphones as picture machines and cameras as photographic machines.
