  1. That's something I don't need to read.
  2. That's definitely a very interesting proposition. Something like the fantastic A7s?
  3. I absolute love the X100T! Yes, about the only thing I dislike about the X-Pro series is the price! However, looking at the A7Rii price, it does ease the pain a bit. For people who already have the X-Pro1 and lenses but don't need the speed of the X-T1, it makes sense to consider the X-Pro2. I haven't had much success in Fujifilm raw files but have good experiences with their jpegs. It will be a great addition if the X-Pro2 can shoot slightly higher which also makes the jpegs files come with less noise cancelling artifacts. It'll be really good for me.

Looks like a photo in my granddad's photo album.
  5. Congrats and Have fun. Pictures please!
  6. I think that SONY is reshuffling things at corporate level and Fujifilm just cannot cope with market demands. As of recently, they've invested heavily in a new facility hoping to increase production. Needless to say, their X system's success took them by surprise. What I do know is that the X-100/X-Pro series is somewhat of a pet project for Fujifilm. There is a strong following in Japan/Europe for rangefinder styled X series. While the X-T range is great for professionals, they still need a product to fill in the top-of-the-line spot. A camera which isn't the quickest but definitely is the prettiest. Inside and out.
  7. Ok. That makes perfect sense. "Once people learn to think about how the final image looks and not how the captured image looks, you'll find there is much less excitement about every new sensor". This is very true... I guess, with every advancement a sensor leading like SONY makes, it makes things a little all more exciting. No doubt it's technology will eventually trickle to other companies and a good as Fujifilm's high ISO performance is, it's always a wonder if it can be better with that extra 5% improvement. Especially for me or anyone here who are also waiting for the X-Pro2.
  8. Well.....dark side as in high ISO that is.... All the rumors about the X-Pro2 using a Sony sensor has suddenly begin to sound very enticing! http://petapixel.com/2015/07/04/this-is-how-good-the-sony-a7s-is-with-low-light-and-high-iso/
  9. Perhaps this is what's in store if the new X-Pro2 uses a Sony sensor beneath the X-Trans color filters. It is definitely very promising.... http://petapixel.com/2015/07/04/this-is-how-good-the-sony-a7s-is-with-low-light-and-high-iso/
  10. RIP Fred and welcome Frank! The X-M1 would be slightly larger due to the interchangeable lens I think. Although it has one of the best colors and high ISO performance in a relatively affordable package. The X-T10 would be great for chasing action.
  11. I think that statement was made with all things being equal, i.e. ISO setting being the same on both. The XF35 F1.4 and XF56F1.2 looks pretty good wide open to me. Before stacked sensor, Fujifilm's move to narrow the gap between the rear elements and sensor plane was a good move. This was achieved by designing an entirely new mounting system which is why F1.4 and F1.2 of a Fujifilm lens/X Camera is considerably sharper edge to edge than conventional systems. It also allows for a slightly smaller dimension.
  12. I would suspect that WR lenses stay cleaner than non WR lenses.,,,,,but dust is slightly different from water.
  13. Nicely captured. Yup, never touch the lens elements unless you absolutely have to. It does more damage than you know....
  14. Fujifilm! https://ivanjoshualoh.wordpress.com/2015/06/25/awards-with-fujifilm-x-t1/
  15. So, digital shooters are loving film without knowing?
  16. Backside illuminated sensor. 60% more light captured. Better low light performance.
  17. Focusing on sensor alone is not going to save them. Sony had always had great eye for innovation but poor robustness in their product line. Always a market leader. Just not a finisher. Remember Walkman, Trinitron/WEGA/Bravia TVs, FH Series MiniCompos with their excellent APM drivers, Audiophile class ES AV/Hifi systems, Ultra slim and light Vaio, Experia Z..... Are they going to let their A series mirror less go the same way? And what of their uber expensive hi res audiophile digital player NW-ZX2...will there be a mark 2?
  18. Shutter abuse syndrome? My sentiments exactly.
  19. Same discussion we had with the man himself not too long ago. Hope this will shed some light. http://fujifilm-blog.com/2015/06/30/interview-with-mr-takashi-ueno-from-fujifilm-tokyo-why-dont-fujifilm-make-full-frame-dslr/
  20. When shooting film, I always enjoyed the luxury of choosing between Kodak, Fujifilm, IIford or Agfa. Depending on what I shot or the end result I was looking for, I would choose appropriately. Nowadays, without post processing, Digital cameras have taken away that option for majority of shooters. Moving forward to the very near futire, most general photographers will forget the magic of having those options and the magic of having a preset film effect. Fujifilm / X-Trans sensor offers me a different perspective and overall look. Editing in Jpeg can give a somewhat smoother, more "organic" result than say compared to a canon equivalent. This sometimes translate to a more intimate photograph for me. It brings back the notion of shooting with a different roll of film in my camera. As I shoot mostly for pleasure, I must admit, it's a nice option to have and a great experience to revisit.
  21. The clunking noise is normal. I have it on my XF55-200 as well. Once the camera is switch off, it clunks around. I take it that the OIS mechanism is only held firmly in place when the lens is energized. I'd imagine some kind of gyroscopic mechanism working it's magic. I just try not to knock the lens around too much. Otherwise, it works great.
  22. I'm sure they will...... How else can they control and dictate the technology then? After all, it's still business and revenue.
  23. The X-Pro stable has never been about speed. It's more about picture IQ and a shooting experience. It'll probably never rival the X-T range. Not all photographers are chasing fast moving objects. It's about slowing the pace a little to take that nice picture during a nice walk....somewhere. With that, I am expecting stupendous picture quality from the X-Pro2.
