  1. Oh...is that what it is? I always wondered.... Anyone have experience with the Tiffen lens cleaning liquid? I find it leaves residue which is rather annoying to remove cleanly....
  2. I love both my X-Pro1 and 5D3. They are both fun to use in different ways. The only contention would be the size of the 5D3. It's difficult when I want to be less conspicuous. Otherwise, the 5D3 is a BLAST to use....all the time.
  3. Yes! http://resourcemagonline.com/2015/07/camera-power-rankings-month-2-four-new-voters-a-new-number-1/55419/?hootPostID=b5188eefe575f7a0b0b6b5ce76db7ecc
  4. Fujifilm experience brought me closer to my A-1 days. And I love etched numbered dials and direct access.
  5. I would go with the X-T10.
  6. You must be one of the lucky few to have had a chance to walk through one of these facility. My brother who is head of manufacturing for one hard drive company gets to visit these farms on and off in the U.S. Google is one of his corporate clients. From what he described, it's unimaginable....well, at least to me. Together with the trips, he indulges some of the problems they face, i.e. power, space management, security, etc.....
  7. Ok. That's a relief. I am trying to trace and wipe any server based storage I have had in the past and limit myself to a few manageable ones.
  8. Ok. Now it's starting to get depressing....... .......and I understand that data is spread exponentially. I guess, we have to start somewhere.....
  9. Yes. I'm doing my part. I had 13,000 emails in my inbox. I don't need them anymore. So, I cleared them out. I managed to clear about 7gB of data. According to statistics, there are about 3billion internet users in the world. Lets say 30% of them clears out 5gB data from their inboxes, that makes a whopping 4.5 billion gB. I'm not sure how good your math is but that translate to some serious numbers of Hard drive/CD/Magnetic tapes. How does 4.5 million 1Tb drives sound to you? CDs aren't a green product and can't store much. Magnetic tapes don't last forever too. Both need lot's space to store not to mention the resource to manufacture them. Space is more valuable than electricity/power. Ask yourself this. How large a digital footprint do you want to leave in this virtual world. Why?
  10. Hahaha...... yah, I guess. Double drats!
  11. True.....I guess we never change.
  12. Yes, I agree with both of you. It's going to be a problem. It's a death race between miniaturization of the silicone chip and the ever growing storage farms sprawling around the globe. Apart from space required, think electricity. Of course, solar power is being used but that itself requires space too. I'm just glad that hard drive corporations and also the IT industry realize this and are desperately trying to make their drives/devices use lesser and lesser energy. I just spent a few weekends clearing out all my email inbox and encouraged my friends and family to do the same too. There's a lot of rubbish floating around the internet, stored somewhere in the world....for this same reason, I never post any unnecessary pictures on social media. Selfies? Please don't.
  13. Well, one thing's for sure...the internet traffic is winning.
  14. I hope so too......Although, Art as we know it can sometimes be anti-technology. Our instagram "Cartier-Bresson" may prove that you don't need a 50mpix DSLR to create art. I'm also a member of the audiophile community. The Ipods and smartphones literally killed the HiFi industry. While I reminisce about Quads and Rogers or Snell Acoustics, I also get funny looks from my younger peers.
  15. Yes, Kodak was one of companies cited in case studies in my thesis. They invented the technology (1975, Steven Sasson) but held it back for fear of hurting it's film business. It was in denial and had too much faith that marketing alone would overcome the onset of digital technology. If only they had the tenacity to embrace their invention alongside their core business then, we may be wielding Kodak digital shooters instead of anything else.
  16. Hate to say this but it's very unlikely. Maybe when the X-Pro2 is launched, we may get a trickle down update from that.......
  17. Perhaps, photographers who never shot film may grow older reminiscing the nostalgia of how they used to shoot with their smartphones and the beauty of built-in filters.
  18. Wasabi and Pisen. Both are as good as the originals.
  19. Ok. Sorry to hear about your 56 but glad you found the ball bearing and metal piece. Mind to share what may have happened to cause such a damage? I have the 56 too. Do I have any cause for concern? Thanks.
  20. Hi Han Solo, welcome and congrats on the X-E2. Great camera. Battery life is typical as you have described although I don't have the 3 bars to naught problem. If your battery is very new, it may require several charge/discharge to realize it's full capacity. I've also used wasabi and pisen batteries in my Fujifilm with great results. Performance and capacity is almost identical. If anything, the pisen seem to be a little more durable and self life seems to be better too. I know not of a battery grip for the X-E2. 3rd party ones, like this are untested and doesn't really look like it's at par with the built quality of the X-E2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OWNUSER-MIG-FXE1-2B-Mini-Battery-Grip-For-Fujifilm-X-E1-X-E2-Camera-/291355545868?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43d624d10c
  21. There ya go...... "Bokeh quality and contrast sit somewhere between the standard 56mm lens and the 56mm APD". http://www.bokeh-monster.com/blog/fujifilm-90mm-f2-review-sharper-than-japanese-steel
  22. I suspect that the clicking is mechanical and nothing to do with the electrical connectivity between the lens and body. I don't use the macro extension tube and have never had aperture clicks jamming on mine. It is very odd that it happened to you twice and on different lenses.
