  1. This is an inherent property of any rectilinear UWA lens. You either need to make sure that you don't place your subject too close to the edge of the frame, use a lens with a longer focal length and back up or use a lens (or post processing technique) with a different projection.

  3. Although street photography has always fascinated me at some level, I never seriously ventured into this discipline because it makes me feel uncomfortable to photograph strangers without their consent. That being said, I do shoot in public venues, including the area where milando's photo was taken (my wife was born in the town nearby) and generally don't see any adverse reactions. And even though I decidedly don't have thick skin when it comes to being confronted by someone on the street, I'm pretty certain that my non-verbal communication would have told that "first male on the left" where to stick his objections. I mean come on, he's sitting in front of a beach cafe in a known tourist area. I do believe though that your own appearance can make a big difference in how likely you are to be told off. I also feel that street photography is likely to be easier for women because they are less likely to be perceived as threatening or having unsavory motives. Perhaps the forum's female street photographers care to chime in with their personal experiences?

    My daily shave

Another classic shaving enthusiast here! This morning's paraphernalia: Mühle R89 razor and NOS (New Old Stock) Triton R3 shaving blade (Germany), Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream (England), Semogue SOC Badger cherrywood brush (Portugal) and Proraso green after shave lotion (Italy). I also own the Fatip razor, Pitralon lotion and assorted TFS soaps by the way. [emoji41]
  5. My definition is "works as designed". If yours is "doesn't clunk" then you may find it a challenge to find a copy that satisfies it.
  6. For being equally unaware of this issue?
  7. Yep. Chances are that you returned two perfectly fine lenses.
  8. Not strange, just like you said: personal. I feel the exact opposite.
  9. When I travel, I often come home with photos of landscapes or other features that I can't tie to a specific location from memory. Where was that valley again? What was the name of that church? Remember that shop opposite the road where we took this picture? I don't need GPS for every picture I take, but in some situation it's a godsend.
  10. I'll keep that in mind for the next time my mother in law comes to visit.
  11. I own several silver colored lenses for my black OM-D. The combination never bothered me in the least.
  12. I'm genuinely curious what you expect to learn from the prospective answers to your question, given that you don't share what you intend to shoot with the lenses you end up keeping, nor do you ask potential respondents to divulge their brand of photography. If I suggested you sell the 12 and the 16, how would that help you in making up your mind? What if you shoot portraits and someone tells you to get rid of the 56 and the 90 because unbeknownst to you, they shoot landscapes and prefer wide over telephoto? I keep coming back to this thread because for the life of me, I still can't wrap my head around why people keep asking for this kind of "anonymous advice". It's like going into an automobile forum and asking everyone what car you should buy, without providing a shred of background info on whether you need it to take the kids to school or join a local drag race.
  13. Nice captures in their own right, but the added blur makes them look a bit too instagrammy for the street photography genre IMO. Would like to see them without the faux T/S lens effect.
  14. In Soviet Russia, you don't bash Ken Rockwell... Ken Rockwell bashes you!
  15. Exactly. That means that not even the plans have been finalized. So it's a statement of intent which is a far cry from a confirmation of delivery.
  16. There may have been other statements from Fuji on this, but the message that this particular alleged confirmation is based on says nothing more than that there are plans in process. So not even the plans have been finalised, let alone that there is a confirmation of them ever materialising into an actual update, much less when. Even the earlier statement from Fuji France only speaks of plans, not actual intent. Don't get me wrong, I own an X-E2 myself and would love nothing more than to see it being brought up to speed, so to speak. But sensationalist inferences based on nothing but a handed-down, tentative statement from Fuji may do well as click bait, but does not do any service to us X-E2 owners.
  17. That does indeed appear to be the case, but it doesn't explain how this reviewer's copy is somehow exempt from said clunking.
  18. Just spotted a post in one of the sister forums where another happy new XF 90 owner confirmed that their lens did not rattle, clunk or make any other noises whether on or off the camera and echoed that statement in a review of the lens: And the less than decisive AF performance that some (including myself) have been experiencing does not seem to plague the reviewer either: http://macfilos.com/photo/2015/7/20/fujinon-90mm-f2-r-lm-wr-review-break-out-the-piggy-bank Could it be that the clunking and the AF performance are related? And perhaps this is in fact an issue with some early production copies as suggested by the reviewer?
  19. I think that most of us who spoke up about this issue considered it to be a concern, not necessarily proof that the lens is "faulty". If one of my lenses behaves distinctively different than anything I've ever owned or used, I try to gather information on that behavior to ascertain whether or not it is by design or something to be concerned about. I'm not sure why that bothers you. I honestly don't understand why you feel that all this vitriol is required. It's funny though that you called Fuji over the same issue that you then accuse other people of ranting and writing nonsense about.
  20. If you can provide a link or other reference to that statement, then the issue will be moot as far as I'm concerned.
  21. Absence of proof is no proof of absence.
