Complete Overview over the available and upcoming Fuji X-Mount lenses
Snzkgb replied to quincy's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Well, of course the color rendition is all about personal taste, but I was able to compare the Fujinon XF 35mm F/1.4 with Canon EF 50mm F/1.2 L and Fujinon wins. -
Hello everyone! I'm just a photo-enthusiast from somewhere in Russia. I have no skills in photography, I doubt I could ever start making money with my hobby because of that. But actually I like to take pictures. My experience is not big, I started in 2008 with Canon 40D and EF 50/1.4. Time passed, and I owned and shoot with 30D, 500D, NX10, 1D mark II N, 5D mark II, 1D mark IV, X10, X100, X-Pro 1, 5D mark III and X100S. And like a year ago I've ended up with no gear at all due to the extreme need of money. Anyway, the most pleasent photos I've taken were made with Fuji cameras (X100's and X-Pro 1) and with 6x6 film camera Kiev-6C. I absolutely love the colours of Fuji sensors and bokeh, sharpness of Fuji optics. And I hope I'll be able to buy an XT-1 any time soon with a bunch of lenses. http://500px.com/photo/120938113/the-burning-sky-by-alex-levakov http://500px.com/photo/121685369/pine-photo-by-alex-levakov http://500px.com/photo/120909095/bumblebee-by-alex-levakov

I know that this lens is designed not to block the OVF. Which doesn't make sence to me, because there will be only one body with OVF in the market - the X-Pro version 2. And I can't see the logic in making special purpose lens for a single body. I think it is more logical to make a WR version of 35/1.4.
-
Well, they've already made 2nd version for the cheap zooms. They made new WR zooms with better F stops. Why making WR prime with worse F stops?
-
If the x-pro 2 and x-t2 were both released tomorrow...
Snzkgb replied to benjaminthomson's topic in General Discussion
X-Pro 2, 3, 4 and whatever anyday, if Fuji will continue to adapt hybrid OVF with all of the lenses. But if XT-2 will suddenly get hybrid OVF, than I'll have to buy both - XT-2 for using with zooms (because of its DSLRish body, especially with battery grip) and X-Pro 2 for using with primes. -
Oh well...this lens looks disgusting. And why the hell is this lens F/2.0? Why not F/1.4? Damn...
-
I didn’t know this, no OVF above 60mm?
Snzkgb replied to milandro's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
OVF may not provide frames for anything longer than 60mm, but nothing stops people from using longer lenses on X-Pro 1: -
Hmm...where is any rumors about Hybrid OVF in X-Pro 2 (the thing that apart from X-Trans sensor made X-Pro 1 so different)?

Complete Overview over the available and upcoming Fuji X-Mount lenses
Snzkgb replied to quincy's topic in Fuji X Lenses
OP, thanks for writing this topic. I only used three original primes and X-Pro 1 body, so my experience is limited. 18mm F/2.0 - small, cheap, lightweight. My 18 mil was almost certainly a defected one, because its right upper and lower corners were extremely bad, and even at F/5.6 these areas were significantly worse than center. But even with that said I was quite pleased with the results of this lens. 35mm F/1.4 - small, great build, excellent optics. Sharp center, creamy bokeh, great contrast and clours. This lens (and the X-Trans sensor) was the reason why I selled my 5D Mark II and EF 50mm/F1.2. And I never looked back. Ken Rockwell say that this lens is as good as Summilux 50mm F/1.4. 60mm F/2.4 - rather big compared to 18 and 35, and slow. But again - very sharp, nice colours, and at the times of X-Pro 1 it was the only portrait (sort of) lens. And it worked well. -
Do not sell lenses. Lenses ARE the system. Body's gets old and outdated, but lenses stay for decades. Every professional photographer will tell you: NEVER sell lenses (except you have two of the same focal lenght, and one is newer), even if you are in need of money.
-
As for me, the initial three primes for X-Pro 1 are all that man needs. But with new lenses appearing, I think that 23/1.4, 35/1.4 and 56/1.2 are great combo. Add 16/1.4 and 90/2 to previous three and you will get the best combo out of ANY digital system you can imagine (including Leica M family). Zeiss Touit 12mm is the best option for non-Fujinon lens too. Add Touit 32mm if you don't like the original 35mm (but honestly both of these lenses are like apples and oranges).
-
The Fujinon 35mm F/1.4 is the absolute must have lens up to date. Optically it is at least as good as Summilux 50mm F/1.4 if not better. It is an all-round lens if you know why people bought fast 50 mills back in old-school days of film cameras when there were no zooms. But, well, of course, Fuji should make the 35mm F/1.4 Mark II or even 35mm F/1.2 with features of more modern lenses. As for me, this exact lens (Fujinon XF 35mm F/1.4 R) and body (X-Pro 1) were the main reasons to sell my 5D mark II and EF 50mm F/1.2 combo. PS: Seriously, if your concern is AF speed, than mirrorless is not for you - just buy a DSLR.
-
In my opinion, the real successor for X-Pro 1 must be a fullframe X-Trans CMOS sensor (36mp is good enough for me) based with all-new FF lenses (35/1.4, 50/1.4 and 85/1.4 for my tastes would be enough for the start). It must be the same rangefinder-like body with all-new Hybrid OVF with real-time parallax correction. Shutter speed must be 1/8000 indeed. AF must be as good as XT-1 with 4.00 frameware. New processor would be a must indeed. Things that are not necessary for the rangefinder style camera: weather resistant body, dual card slots, movie recording, tilting screen, touchscreen,

Hi! Haven't use the 60 mil with anything new like XE-2/XT-1/XT-10 On my X-Pro 1 this lens is slow. No..I mean it is SLOW LIKE HELL in terms of focusing. I doubt you'd be happy with this lens if you own 56 mil. But optically this lens is good and definately worth its money.

As I've said in another topic, I'd love to see these lenses: 35mm F/1.2 (I still think that 1.2 is enough compromise in terms of price/performance) 90mm F/1.4 (same here - anything faster than 1.4 in 90mm range means it would be a very (I mean VERY) expensive thing). 140mm F/2 These are the lensese that I'd definately buy. The lenses that I will probably buy: 200mm F/2.8 10mm F/2.8
-
If we are talking about existing lenses, than I'd call Zeiss 12 and 32; Fujinon 14, 16, 23, 35, 56 and 90. As for what I'd like to see from Fuji (or Zeiss): 35/1.2 or faster, 90/1.4 or faster, 140/2 or faster.
