  1. Use in conjunction to/with your instruction manual. They are written to work together. Not explain the instruction manual. Written By Ken Wheeler. https://ia600903.us.archive.org/2/items/FUJIFILMTRICKS1/3RDSMALL.pdf
  2. I do remember reading from the website, and from Ken Wheeler that you need to use an SD card for updating. Ken Wheeler highly recommends using SanDisk 300Mb/s cards. Just relaying information.
  3. Yeah, that sounds bad. Check my post. There is one dude, on the forum, and Ken Wheeler, who is trying to be helpful, to which I am very thankful. Usually I try to wait at least 6 months to 1 year before buying. Risky being a consumer tester for a new product. In my case, I too had issues. The "What Have You Done?" post. Took it back the next day, but am willing to be as helpful as I can be. If I don't have the answer, I'll ask around. I'll definitely remain active in the forums, as I really do want to try and help Fujifilm make the XT-4 better. Regardless of the hate I get from the fan boys. I was given a beat down by "Experts and Fan Boys". I forgive them. And I still remain to be as helpful as I can be. And Yes, I'm saving for new XT-4. I'm taking the risk. I believe that it can be a legend, once it is refined.
  4. What SD card did you use? Was it Lexar?
  5. I used photos, and it was on the right edge. parts of it looked like it had hair/fine lines sticking out. First I usually use photos, do the base edit, then use Affinity Photo for the spot removal if needed.
  6. I was not using any converter(s). Just the lens, and camera body. To put the RAW files on my MacBook Pro, I use the image capture. That is how most put the images onto the computer/laptop. I spoke to Ken Wheeler, and he suggested that through process of elimination, the SD Card was too slow.
  7. Totally. It was a horrible first experience.
  8. Irrelevant. A bad product is a bad product. By the way, I have over 10 years shooting photos.
  9. Here is my first possibly only Fujifilm experience: Here is what I found wrong with the one I got. I hope it was just a bad model. 1) In my RAW file, there was a 1/4 inch black bar going down the side. Taking away form the complete photo. I was using Sandisk. 2) The video was too shaken. It was horrible. I was just sitting on the couch testing it. 3) The EV dial failed to work. I think they all did. What are they there for if you can not use them? Yes I unlocked them. 4) OMG the noise in the images... Horrible... I was horrified at how bad the camera was. I really had high hopes, only to be scattered into the winds... It was the first and very horrible experience I had with Fujifilm. I may, may not give it another chance. But it will be a few years minimal. Hopefully they fix it by then. I'm glad I got my money back. Glad I was able to get my Nikon back as well. I traded everything Nikon I had to get the XT4. It was a lot. And yes, I did in camera format the SDXC cards. I want the CEOs, bosses, ECT... of Fujifilm IN JAPAN to see and read this. They made a horrible product. At least in my case. I never thought this could happen. Shameful...
  10. For digital era cameras, the UV is more for protection(s).
  11. I sent an email linking the post to Ken Wheeler, and this was his response:
  12. Call up Fujifilm. Tell them what is wrong.
  13. The easiest solution is pend the money and get 2 bigger faster SDXC cards. Anything else would lessen the quality Fujifilm products and services. And what ever you do, use Raw+JPG.
  14. Thank you both.
  15. I would recommend looking for the camera you use, and try in that forum. It never hurts to ask though. In a few days I get the XT-4 w/16mm - 80mm zoom. I plan to do both cinematic style 4K video, and photos. Both Black and White and color. What do you use?
  16. What are the best zoom lenses and prime lenses for 4K 24 FPS video on the XT-4? I'm looking to duplicate the film days as closely as I can. The greatest like Steven Spielberg (Schindler's List, E.T. The Extraterrestrial, Duel), John Carpenter (Escape from New York/L.A., Big Trouble in Little China). I plan to do Black and White, and color. Thanks.
  17. Thanks, good to have as many points of view as possible.
  18. What grade of ND filter is best for the sky? This is good for water, ocean, and moving fresh water? Or would one do the trick for both?
  19. How long have you used Lexar? Have you ever had any issues at all?
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7zqJTzlSu0 https://youtu.be/Bg1HrHVikiQ?t=319 And Sony's latest debacle. The only photography channel I trust, has never lied about recommendations, or camera lenses and other camera accessories; Proclaims that Sandisk is the only card that people should use. However, they are sticking to the slow, and useless V30, (useless) instead of making a V90 SDXC card for the XT-4. Not saying it is a bad card, or bad card company, just not good enough for 4K with 400mbps video that the XT-4 can produce. The petition is this: Work with Sandisk so they can give full quality SDXC cards for video use. By that I mean V90 Sandisk SDXC cards. People are paying big money for the junk V90 SDXC cards. With the amount of money they are paying for the XT-4, they should get the full quality. Not half the quality they pay for.
  21. I was looking at filters, and came across, Yellow, Green, Red, and Orange. Do they have any effect with the XT-4? Are they worth the money? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/products/For-Black-White-Contrast/ci/12813/N/4232862007?filters=fct_circular-sizes_27%3A72mm
  22. 16mm - 80mm f4 lens 23mm lens, and the 80mm medium telephoto/macro lens.
  23. I would use heavy large grain and Black and White. That is my plan. Might use small grain. Or Vivid. If you are doing colors, you should use the richest available. But Always do 4K 24FPS for film reproduction. 24 FPS is how they played the movies on the screen. They actually "Filmed the scenes in around 12 FPS. Vignetting can be done by lens hoods or zoom lenses. You could look like the greats. "Big Trouble In Little China, The Terminator, Escape from New York/L.A. Schindler's List, the original E.T." Just to name a few
  24. Yeah according to Ken Wheeler who fixed cameras, and used/owned almost every lens, Lexar is trash. Search YouTube videos: All FUJIFILM.....please STOP sticking LEXAR SD cards in your Fuji. In a email he said "USE SANDISK 300/MB ONLY". Avoid "Prograde", and especially "Sony" and Lexar. Until Sandisk gets their head out of their backside and makes faster cards we will just have to make due. Some bonus advice (search YouTube) ALL Mirrorless DON'T Please DON'T burn your mirrorless sensor! Angry Photographer: THANKS LEXAR!! .....for BRICKING my DSLR....trash cards
