  1. it's normal for any camera to overheat, especially while recording video...especially 4k, which needs a lot of processing power you didn't damage anything as the camera shut itself down before that. let it cool for a bit and continue i guess you weren't following the internet meltdown over the "absolute failure" which was the canon r5 overheating when recording 8k...since then every camera is "tested" for how long it records before overheating 🙄
  2. owning every piece of gear doesn't make one an expert and it certainly doesn't make them a professional photographer. it just makes them a gear hoarder i expect a flagship CAMERA to perform where it matters: image quality (video or stills), autofocus and whatever else it promises to bring to the table, in this case speed (fps, video or whatever). and in those aspects it surely delivers, judging from what RESULTS i've seen from actual photographers (sorry, but i can't take the guy seriously when all he does for 22 minutes is sit on his chair and fondle the camera saying how s*it it is). the MCS switch point has been made clear above. when apple first removed the charging brick from the box everyone cried out and laughed. how long did it take for others to follow? 6 months at most for samsung and then all the others
  3. seriously? the camera is a piece of junk because it doesn't have a charger in the box? i guess then the only good smartphone is a cheap chinese one for having a charger and all the iphones and galaxys are crap...
  4. if the budget allows it, the fuji 80mm macro is unbeatable and often second hand under 1k€ with the remaining budget you could/should get a dedicated macro flash the cheapest option would be an extension tube (or set) mid way is the fuji 60mm, which can go to 1:1 with an extension tube getting one of the macro lenses or an extension tube with electrical contacts would allow you to use the focus stacking feature in the camera, as opposed to going for an adapted/manual lens lighting, however, is important in macro, so a decent front mounted flash is needed (even LED does a decent job)
  5. a new firmware for the x-s10 will be released to make it fully compatible with the latest fuji lenses but whether or not any improvements in autofocus will be included this is unknown and probably not the focus of any rumor sources, unless it's a night and day change...so don't hold your breath
  6. if you bought the lens new and you can still return it or send it to warranty just do that...don't wait for some miracle if not then update one of your cameras (i'd say the newest one) to the latest firmware and then the lens and see if that works, if that still doesn't solve your problem contact viltrox as they're quite helpful from what i've read online. but the main idea is to have both the camera AND the lens at their latest firmwares. it happened with my viltrox 56 that it wouldn't work anymore after i updated just the camera, then after updating the lens it wouldn't work with another camera with older firmware, then finally after updating all my cameras to the latest version it works fine. oh, and for some reason, don't just download the latest firmware for the lens, but also all the versions in between the latest and the one you have installed and update in order...just how viltrox works i guess...
  7. it doesn't seem to have any electrical contacts...correct me if i'm wrong..i just looked at some photos...so why would you need the fringer adapter? any dumb adapter would do the trick (although putting a 15$ adapter between a 5000$ lens and a 1500$ body seems stupid)
  8. the pixii does that but in all seriousness, the smallest ipad can easily transfer your images from the card to any drive. i don't have a laptop anymore and just use my ipad pro for everything. you'd need a card reader and if you don't have one with usb-c already i recommend you get one of the hubs with integrated readers so you can directly move files from the card to your drive. just make sure it's from a reputable brand as i got one once and was unusable because it was too slow
  9. there is never a direct voltage transfer from the charger to the battery. there is always a charging circuit in between to manage everything. the second part though makes absolutely no sense... the differences in charging times you are seeing are due to the power (voltage x current) the chargers can deliver. DPReview had a quite good and comprehensive video on their youtube channel explaining all the PD protocols. better check that one out
  10. yes, it's normal. the camera goes into low power mode after some time which i think is selectable or can be turned off completely
  11. for architecture you wouldn't need autofocus and considering the price, the samyang 12mm would be my first choice (i actually have it and it was one of the first lenses i got for the fuji). distortion is pretty well corrected and sharpness is really good. you could check what Laowa offer too...they have wider lenses and some really wide rectilinear ones, although i haven't seen them on the used market as much...
  12. there will for sure be an x-pro4...most likely not this year and depending on how true the other rumors are, it might come in 2024 you could go for an x-e4: still rangefinder, normal screen...it's just that it's considered entry level although it has the latest sensor and processor, so what you'd be giving up on over an x-pro would be the optical viewfinder and bigger size
  13. you might expect too much out of any autofocus system...at night, with the subject dark and backlit? maybe a canon R3 might be able to achieve focus there...but certainly no low/mid tier fuji or any other brand for that matter if you're vlogging, try manually focusing and maybe stopping down a bit to get adequate depth of field
  14. such a drastic shift in focus could only be an adapter issue IMO...check if your adapter has the latest firmware otherwise raise the problem to viltrox. you could check with a fuji lens just for confirmation, but i highly suspect it's an adapter issue
  15. There is a bit of softness from what i can tell… can you post the settings used for that particular image and what lens you used?
  16. Amazon germany. Placed the order on the 8th of december and got the lens at my door on the 20th
  17. I got my 70-300 within 2 weeks of ordering, although it appeared to be out of stock with a delivery estimate of 2 months. Same with the x-s10 some 8 months ago
  18. I have a NiteCore dual USB charger which works fine, charges the batteries properly, not too fast and while monitoring the temperature
  19. If you‘re thinking of the 50 f1 or the 90 f2 then i assume your budget is considerable :)) if you‘re not sure, i suggest renting, if possible, if not, buying second hand if you can find any good offers…used lenses keep their value and are quite easy to resell if you‘re not pleased with them something in between what you want would be the 60 f2.4 if you‘re on a tighter budget, you might want to take a look at what viltrox is offering. I got an 85 1.8 for 300€ used but as new alternatively, you could try adapting vintage lenses to get a feel of the different focal lenghts…vintage lenses can be found quite cheap and so are the adapters
  20. 16-80 plus the 35 1.4…i add the 70-300 or the 50-230 (which is on sale since the 70-300 arrived) for my tele needs not on the x-pro3 but on the x-s10 if it makes any difference
  21. Try facebook marketplace or your local/national second hand website. Selling on a forum is quite tricky as there are many people from all around the world so sending something outside your country could be expensive. ebay just turned into a storefront for chinese imports..
  22. I have the nitecore fx1. Really happy with it. Measures the temperature, charge voltage and current. Also gives an estimate of the health of the battery
  23. if the minimalist control/body style is ok then the x-e4 is a fine choice as it has the latest sensor and processor. if you don't have any XF lenses yet then an x-e4 with the kit 18-55 might be a good starting point, although in your budget the x-s10 with the 16-80 would also fit. i chose the x-s10 over the x-e4 for the larger grip and more control dials. the IBIS came as a bonus for the same money. you really can't go wrong with any of the latest bodies in the fuji lineup and it's more important what lens you put in front of the sensor. an x-e4 + 23f2 would be the interchangeable equivalent of the x100 (bit larger and without OVF) i also have the x100s alongside the x-s10 so if you have any specific questions i might be able to help
