pixel shift would be nice to be able to get higher resolution files but from what i've read the x-trans pixel pattern makes it harder to achieve this compared to the bayer arrangement... the GFX100 i think does have pixel shift but i'm not sure whether it's bayer or x-trans

i think you might be confusing processing with compositing (manipulating) even the jpeg your camera gives out has processing. the film simulations ARE processing. the simple raw file is ugly an unappealing without any kind of processing

the jump from 16 to 26 is definitely NOT modest...i noticed a significant difference going from 20mp to 24mp at the moment, the highest resolution in a crop system is the canon M6 mk 2/canon 90d, at 32mp, or you could go the olympus MFT route with their high res mode, which takesmultiple exposures and combines them for something like 60mp as far as i remember if resolution is of the utmost importance, go the GFX route, otherwise you will be plenty happy with 26mp

yes and no IMO, sony started this craze for video specs in photo cameras - yes, canon 5d2 was the first to have decent video specs but sony kept pushing more and more outrageous specs. if a camera doesn't film 4k now it a POS, although the processing power needed to edit 4k is out of the reach of many people, not to mention that most people (including me) watch content in 1080 remaining competitive and relevant on the market now requires manufacturers to make, basically, hybrid video/photo cameras. reviews matter, if only a little bit, in a company's stock value. i really believe the widespread appreciation of fuji's x100v, for example, resulted in a stock price increase, and that's what matters ultimately

i think there are still many more pure photographers out there (only interested in photos, that is) than hybrid shooters however, the latter are quite vocal and the platform they're on - youtube - is encouraging video rather than photo shooting whereas photographers have many platforms on which to show their work but none are even at half the level youtube is at, meaning monetisation, encouraging originality, dealing with fraud and so on that is why, in my opinion, all camera companies have to and will embrace video features to be able to sell their products (forget leica, they are too niche)...we who don't care about video just have to suck it up

no, you're not alone. i also don't care one bit about video simply because i lack the time to spend for editing...BUT...at this point when everyone is a youtuber and online reviews matter, any new camera must have at least some of the modern features: touchscreen, some kind of articulation of said screen, some video features i'll give you 2 examples of more targeted cameras: first: canon RP: so much bashing and hate for that camera for not having whatever 4k and 24fps (i think it has 25 and 30 or whatever). all that hate towards a STILLS camera pressured canon into releasing a firmware update for 24fps. second: sigma FP: a clearly video oriented camera bashed left and right for not having a grip or a mechanical shutter for stills the perfect camera does not exist and any camera, old or new, will never be for anyone and everyone...companies must try and target a specific market with specific features in order to sell their product and make a profit and as the latest numbers show, there is a market for cheap(er than x-pro3) rangefinder style mirrorless cameras

naah...not including a touchscreen and decent video specs would be a shot in the foot for fuji and the x-e line... ibis and x-t4 video specs would increase price too much and most probably size as well..

i kind of also think it's bull...considering they moved the x-t4 more towards video and the x-pro3 is very very niche with that weird screen...although fuji know their numbers best... i don't get why the viewfinder has to be on top and in the middle? especially on mirrorless...is it just for the looks?

i'm 90% sure there will be an X-E4 the X-Pro3 and X-T4 have both been more focused towards professional use. i believe fuji should have a competitor for the sony a6000 line in the form of their X-E line. it will probably not get IBIS like the X-T4 but will get the same features as the new X100v just my opinion...and my hope...

have you tried turning off the OIS? at those shutter speeds you shouldn't need it and it might be misbehaving...

hi everyone i'm Andrei from Romania but living in the Austrian mountains now i'm new to bothe the forum and the fuji system having just gotten (this afternoon) both an used cheap X-E1 and a new 7artisans 35mm 1.2 i've been a canon user for quite some years now but i feel i made a mistake with the M system, choosing it for the size (hiking a lot) and thinking it's future proof...i ended up adapting EF-S lenses all the time which negates any size advantage and hurts the ergonomics of the camera so far i'm liking my new old x-e1 and my plan is to slowly sell the canon lenses i own and get fuji ones. next on the list is a 16-50 3.5-5.6, then either the 27 or the xc 35 to replace the 7artisans, samyang 12mm (i have this of my M5 and i love it) and then maybe the 50-230 or simply wait for the x-e4 and kit that new one with either the 18-135 or the 16-80 i think i've narrowed down my wishes for the kit i want to put together: 3...maybe 4 lenses total...1 zoom and 2 primes
