lightroom speed with OS X El capitan
papedo replied to papedo's topic in RAW Conversion Fuji X Photos
you´re most welcome, i´ll keep you updatet. usually i´m not an early adopter, but this time i couldn´t wait because yosimite isn´t that stable at all. -
looks really nice. do you think i can fit 2 laptops inside, this is my main problem with most bags...

hi guys, wanted to ask if anyone is running a mac with OS X el capitan already? i updated yesterday to the latest beta and i wanted to let you know if there is some improvement noticeable. i run a MBPr 13 with i5 2.9 GHz and 16 GB RAM. While the overall performance is a bit faster i also noticed a small speed boost in LR CC. The Dev. Module is maybe a bit more responsive now, but the biggest speed boost i experienced is while exporting images. I usually do the basic adjustments in iridient and finalize it in LR and PS sometimes. For my blog i usually export the images one by one, depending on my needs, but this is much much faster now than it was with yosemite. anyone else experiencing this performance boost? on the other hand i think adobe will have to implement the new metal graphics into their code and when they´ll do so i guess we´ll see a boost in the development module as well... let´s see

thanks for the tip with the billingham, i have a thinktank retrospective 40 with approx. the same size. its a nice bag, but if it is fully loaded it isn´t nice to carry anymore, i think this also applies for the billingham. the shapeshifter is something i need to take a closer look:) thanks!

ok, here we go. I´m going to chicago end november for a 10 days visit. it is basically a business trip, but i also want to take a fuji setup with me to explore the city. First i´m not shure what lenses to take with me. i have to decide between the xf16-55/2.8 or the combination of the xf23mm and 12mm zeiss. i think i wont need a tele and want to keep the setup small and light. for the camera i tend to my x-t1 but could also go for my x-e2... ok, now comes the hard part... because on a business trip i have to bring my company laptop, i have two laptops to carry around. the company laptop is a standard 13 inch model, but i don´t want to leave my MBPr 13 at home, because this is my main photography machine. so i´m searching for a bag or case or whatever that can hold my camera setup, my two laptops, some accessories like ext hdd, a few filters... and all should be in a hand luggage size suitable for planes. all non-sensitive gear and of course clothing goes to the check-in luggage. so any recommendations fur such a bag? would be nice to have a backpack so i could use it for photography tours in chicago as well... thanks for any help in advance, patrick p.s.: if someone from that area has some nice photspots to share, i´d be glad to read them here:)

as far as i know the maximum filter holder size is 72mm for the lee (xf16-55 is 77mm), no idea about the 85mm formatt hitech. i use the 100mm hitech system and it works good.

dilemma
papedo replied to mholtsberg's topic in Fuji X-E4 / Fuji X-E3 / Fuji X-E1 / Fuji X-E2 / Fuji X-E2s
i would take the xf23, but you have this on your x100, so next choice would be the 56mm -

Great off camera flash setup for X-T1
papedo replied to Antony's topic in Flash Photography with Fuji X
because he uses the TX off camera. so the separate trigger is used to fire the flash from the cameras hot shoe. the TX in this case just works as a remote for the settings of the flash. the TX is maybe too big for his use on the cameras hotshot. but i'm just guessing. i have the same setup with 3 flashes, but i use the TX on the camera. and although i have 4 RF603s (from former nikon setup) i only use them if i want to trigger the camera remotely as well. -
i use the hitech system as well, some grad nd and a 6 stop. for the 10 stop i also went for the haida which in fact works perfectly. as someone already mentioned, i removed one of the layers on the filter holder. i also turned around the screws and cut about one cm from each of them. now they perfectly fit into my filter pouch. the results absolutely fit my needs.

time to introduce myself. hello everyone, my name is patrick, i´m from vienna, austria. started my photography about 4 years ago with a nikon d3100. after some bad experience in bad weather on the azores islands i switched to the weather sealed nikon d7100. after i build up a nice set of glass for the nikon i started my search for a small system for my extended travelling in europe. my job takes me all around europe and i wanted a nice camera to go with me everywhere. the nikon set was way to big although i like the IQ. after a few month of research i decided to go for a x-e2 with the 18-55 kit lens. now i had a set that was always in my bag. i loved the quality and got used to the evf and its benefits fast. after getting the xf23 as a high quality multi purpose prime i decided to invest into the fuji system to replace my nikon gear one day. especially for my landscape work (which) is my favourite topic i went for an 12mm zeiss lens which nicely did the job with my extended set of filters. after adding 55-200 and finally a x-t1 as an other body i can now sell all my nikon gear. now that i can do everything i was able to do with the nikon gear, BUT at half the size and weight i´m happy with that decision. the x-t1 i bought because of the tilt-screen and the weather sealing, so right now there is one thing i´m missing. a WR lens to accompany the x-t1 in bad weather situations. so for the moment i can´t decide between the xf16/1.4 and 16-55/2.8. i tend to go for the xf16/1.4 just for size, weight and the additional options for lowlight. so i´m happy to be part of this fast evolving community and also want to thank the people who made this possible and as enjoyable as it is at the moment:) go on! patrick

does the same go for the x-e2? cause i get about 10% more shots on the x-e2 comapred to the x-t1 (same fresh formated memorycard)
