  1. That dark area is the cabinet the officers are standing in front of for the picture. Just a weird coincidence it seems to me. But nice to hear you got a new lens out of it!! I spoke with the Fuji repair people just today and what a refreshing change from the way I'm treated through NPS!
  2. My preference would probably be Astia with +1 or +2 Color thru the "Q" menu. Take a quick sample pic or two once there. I always review through the EVF to keep external light sources from affecting the reviewed image.
  3. There is no way to tell if these were shot with an X-Pro2 or a "full frame" DSLR. Excellent! Very well done!!
  4. No grain DR Auto Highlight Tone: 0 Shadow Tone: -2 Color: 0 Sharpness: 0 Noise Reduction: -4 Film Simulation: Classic Chrome I have found I like the look of this a lot. With the -2 on shadow tones the blacks don't seem to get crushed. This is what I start with in LR.
  5. I shot about 500 images at a high school rodeo using zone focusing and continuous focus with the very slow 60mm f2.4 lens. Take a look at the results here: http://www.ricklewisphotography.com/blog/editorial/fuji-x-pro2-making-me-smile/ I was simply amazed at the X-Pro2's ability. It is no Nikon D4s, but it ain't bad.
  6. I never noticed the blue cast until reading this post. I guess I see a little bluish tint but maybe I was accepting it because I shoot Jpeg with Classic Chrome film sim most all of the time and it is a little on the cool side for color. BTW, the Auto WB on the XP2 is probably the best of any digital camera I've owned. It seems to be extremely accurate even in shade or on cloudy days. My other two Fujis are always on the cool side and I have to usually manually adjust. That may be another reason I haven't noticed the problem. The images just seem to come out right.
  7. Mine to is a 61A0 and I have not had that problem, thankfully. I can't imagine the stress that must be for the wedding guys, right in the middle of the wedding. I hope this gets worked out.
  8. Well, I have no idea what he's talking about. My camera does not have that issue and I shoot almost, not always, Jpeg Fine, only.
  9. I too have to use the LCD screen to change ISO. I can't read those small numbers. Getting old sucks too.
  10. If you are using LR CC it not the multi-metering mode that is the problem. I think it is having the Dynamic Range setting set to Auto on the camera. Double check that setting. I believe I read it was Auto DR, while using LR CC, that is causing the problem. Setting the DR manually is not a problem, apparently.
  11. I read, somewhere, that this is a RAW processing issue with the software you are using. Apparently not all RAW processors properly read the DR settings on the X-Pro2 when Auto DR is used. It works fine when the DR setting is made manually or in Jpeg mode but not Auto DR on the RAF. The "my RAF's are darker than my jpeg" issue when shooting RAW + Jpeg has been noted elsewhere. If you shoot Auto DR, like I do, then this apparently will occur until the software is updated. The guy that reported this issue said to put in a bug fix request (ticket) with the software company. This may be what is happening to you.
  12. I only use EVF. I have never cared for the OVF function. I forgot to mention I never activated the "High Performance" mode for the EVF and used the "Standard" during the entire shoot. I did notice a little "black out" in the EVF during the 8fps. But, I got used to it. I'm assuming the high performance mode refreshes the screen faster making for less black out. You'll see the larger images on my Flickr page.
  13. I pre-ordered an X-Pro2 from Amazon and now have about 1,000 images or so under my belt. This last weekend I attended the Alabama High School Rodeo for a few hours and decided to try the X-Pro2 shooting action. What I had not counted on was the total crap (low, low) light. The rodeo was held in the indoor arena in Montgomery. It is decades old with horrible lighting. I shot at 8,000 - 12,800 ISO for the entire time, inside. The light was so dim I had to use my 60mm f2.4 Fujinon lens, wide open and could go no higher than 1/800th sec shutter speed. This was not ideal. I needed at least 1/1000th sec to stop the action but you do what you can. Even with this exposure I am guessing I was about a full f-stop under what I needed. I was totally blown away at how well the X-Pro2 performed. I shot in Acros G and Classic Chrome simulations and shot only Jpeg. My settings were -4NR, 0 HTone, -2 STone, +2 Color (CC) & +1 Sharpening. I was in continuous focus, zone focus mode. Take a look at my Blog Post for my impressions of the X-Pro2. For much larger versions of the sample images check out my Flickr Page.
  14. I had the camera reset once. It was after removing the SD cared downloading the card and then formatting the card. The camera then reset all the settings except date, & time. I've shot about 300 images and repeatedly removed the card and re-formatted the cards several times with no issues. I have noticed the bottom of the camera get a little warm after normal use. Nothing excessive, but noticeable. No other issues. I received mine on March 4th but I have not used it every day. If all of this is just firmware related, I'm OK with that. All the buttons and dials work perfectly! I love the layout of the camera, with the exception of the ISO dial. My preference would have been to leave it in the Q menu. It's hard for me to see. (Aging eyes) :-)
