I have been with Fujifilm since my X30, X-T2, X-T3 and now my X-T5 - which I love. Pretty much. I am a manual focus, adapted lens guy. I use peak highlight focusing. The way this has always worked is when you half-press the shutter, you get an image preview. The EVF is cleared of information clutter, and peak highlights are hidden. Not anymore. Please - is there is a way to make the X-T5 behave normally? I contacted Fujifilm support and got nothing. "Not a bug." Recent firmware did not correct the issues. Anybody? Thank you.

Hi All! I'm Joe from Dublin. I took up photography during the first Covid lockdown here in Ireland. With everything closed and a 2KM travel limit in place, finding motivation to leave the house became a daily challenge. Trying to capture photos of various things in my locality became my daily activity. I started off with an XT4 as I knew nothing about cameras, but I was drawn to its classic camera appearance. Fortunately it turned out to be a great camera. I have since upgraded to an XT5 and primarily use the XF150-600mm lens.

I have just looked at my X-T2. Yes, the peak highlights are hidden in the T2, when the first pressure is taken, as opposed to the T5. The viewfinder information is partially cleared in both cameras and appears to be the same to me. I don't know of a way to alter the behavior.

I have the new XF 70-300mm on order and am trying to decide between the 1.4 and 2x converter. I will be using lens + converter mainly for wildlife/bird photography. Yes I know that the 2x will drop my max aperture by 2 stops, and the 1.4 by 1 stop. I'm wondering if any one has actual hands-on experiences with these converters. I would love to hear your observations.

I’ve had some pretty similar results. I’m leaving use of the 2x for use on the tripod. I’ve had fairly decent luck with the 1.4x handheld but only using an ibis equipped body.

I've had my 70-300 about 5 days, and im very impressed (enough to sell my 55-200). Used it with both converters at 300mm, and i found the 2x very difficult to hold steady, the 1.4x is a lot easier, but even the IS and OIS miss a few shots. There is definitely a minimal loss in quality with both converters, as to be expected. I think using it with the 1.4x is a great option to have, but the 100-400 would be a better.

Yes, I will going to buy the 1.4x TC, to accompany my 50-140mm. I will trade in my 55-200mm which is a 'good' lens but not a 'great' lens in my opinion.
