Hi Charlieg54, You need to switch slots (in playback mode, press either the menu button or the joystick and choose Switch Slots in the menu options). Then, in slot 2, choose the photos to delete. No quicker way, I'm afraid.

I'm not aware of a way to delete them simultaneously.  And, IMHO you shouldn't be deleting images on the camera anyway as that "could" cause data corruption on the card.   Just my two cents. 

 

I'd also avoid deleting individual photos but I wonder if there is a key combination like there is with format.

(press and hold delete for an second + press in rear scroll wheel)

A quick format method that I have seen listed several places.  It works great for me.

 

I only format with the trash button.  I do not delete an image or group of images.

 

With camera turned on, hold trash button down for  3 sec. or so.  While continuing to hold down trash button, press the rear command dial  (the wheel at the upper right of the back).  The screen will ask you to choose slot 1 or slot 2.  Follow commands to delete all of the images on the card in that slot.   You must do the process twice, each time choosing the slot with the card you with to format.   Remember this process, by reformatting the card, deletes ALL images on that card.

Thanks for the advise on not deleting photos from the SD cards in the camera. What is the general procedure when taking daily photos that I want to upload to my laptop? Should I upload them then reformat the card in the camera each time?

 

With regard to uploading.  I use a card reader.  I download my images for the day and often continue to use the card the next few days, downloading only my new images for each day, usually to a separate folder in my main images folder.  I use 32 GB files which often last me two or three days when I am seriously shooting. \\

 

I shoot only RAW so my slot 2 is a backup.  When I have essentially filled the 32 GB card, i retire it and use another card to finish my trip, event or whatever.  The second slot contains a 256 GB for backup and this card is good to backup at least eight 32 GB cards.  At the end of the trip or event, when I get home I download my images via card reader from my 32 GB cards to my computer and to my backup external drive.  At that point I reformat, using the technique listed above for both all of the 32 GB cards used and the 256 GB back card.

 

I carry sixteen 32 GB cards and two 256 GB cards.  I have yet to run out of space even on a four week trip.

 

Maybe more than you all want to know, but perhaps this is a help or idea trigger for someone.

If you have Lightroom it can be set to not import duplicates. This works well. I have never known it to make a mistake. So each time you put the card in the reader you will not have to manually select the new images.

      Hello all. I have had my x100f for around 5 years and recently it developed some issue with the eye sensor and EVF. The first issue is the responsiveness to the eye sensor. I often shoot in a way where I focus and meter using the evf but then pull away and use the LCD to frame the image. The issue is the eye sensor sometimes doesn't detect I have pulled away for a few seconds and sometimes not at all. The only way for it to detect is to put my finger over the eye sensor and remove it. or point the sensor towards a direct light source (eg the sun). There is a very light scratch on the top of the two little square sensors but I would be surprised if this is causing the issue. The second issue I just noticed today that there is a tiny droplet/stain on image in the EVF . It's not visible in the OVF, nor the LCD or final images so it's not a huge deal, but it is ugly and a little distracting. Am I correct in thinking that perhaps some water/dust got into the EVF? Is it possible to remove the EVF housing and clean it to resolve either or both of these issues. Should I send it to fuji? any ideas what this may cost. I am based in Paris, France.       I know this is an old thread but the gimbal situation for Fujifilm cameras is terrible. It's that bad that I would not recommend people buying into the Fuji system if their man thing is shooting video on a gimbal. As a Fujifilm shooter since 2011, I feel bad having to say that, but here's why.... I'm a photographer that also shoots around six to ten videos per week, all on a gimbal. I've shot video on the X-T3, X-T4 and now the X-H2. I think it was around 2020 when I bought a Weebill S. All was good and I used that until the Weebill 2 came along. On the Weebill S, I can control exposure compensation by rotating the rear thumb dial, which is something I need to do to adjust exposure on the fly as it's a smooth transition (unlike aperture). The S also has a record button that works. But on the Weebill 2, there is no way to adjust the exposure compensation and the record button is extremely stiff and works intermittently. Sometimes you end up starting the video at what you think is the end of the shot. I persevered with the 2 for a few months and then gave up. I went back to the S, burned it out and then had to buy another S because there wasn't a single gimbal out there that could give me a record button that works and a EV comp. So it's 2025 and my second Weebill S is on its last legs and struggling to stay level (some of my clips look like they were filmed on the Titanic). I really don't want to buy a gimbal that was released at the start of this decade, but I can't find a single one from any manufacturer that will work. Fujifilm get blamed a lot for not opening up their system, but at the same time, if the Weebill S can still control my X-H2, then DJI, Feyutech, Zhiyun etc obviously can do it, but choose not to. Or maybe I just keep Fuji as my personal cameras, but switch to something else for work. I've wrote to various gimbal manufacturers, but their replies are useless. I can't be the only one with this problem, right? Rant over.

      Try setting Dynamic Range to Auto. A difficult ,situation but auto DR often shows great improvements

      thank you, I just bought this from a market place, the pictures from the store did not show that particular micro scratch. After asking this and showing the picture above to seller, he said that it is not micro scratch, instead it is micro dust from behind the lens..hmmmmmm
