Ive tried to bring interest to it but certain people just seem to only be interested in shooting down anything thats not worrying about how many buttons a camera has  etc....

There are places like 500px.com. Billions of so-so photos with a few comments to every one saying the same BS - .... oh! what a lovely picture! love it so much! ... bla bla bla...

mdm I am not looking for people to kiss each others backsides saying how great the work is etc , I agree those sites are horrible

 

I just wanted to try and encourage more people to post pics rather than just talking about the cameras , it could be a nice balance ?

I think all forums are roughly the same, not every post will interest everyone.Personally, if someone wants to explain all the buttons on his or hers camera, or how many lathes he owns for instance,that's fine by me, just ignore any posts you don't like!.I'm just glad that enthusiastic people take the time and trouble to start these forums in the first place.

I don't know where you live but in a lot of countries winter is stunning with amazing shots to be had

I live in the UK, it's grey, wet and there are not many keepers to be had, but at least it will be light in the evenings soon.

Ah but you forget frod, not all have the same conditions in weather.  I'd like to trade for 3-6 months your grey & wet weather if you take my winter sunny and warm (90°F+) weather from Southern California. But since we can't, how bout we trade pictures instead?

 

Alf, I know we exchanged a few post in your India thread and it was nice.  Stick around and I'll be posting some pictures when I come back from Japan.  Who knows, the pictures might entice you to go
