Umm, I doubt you will run into any rain here in California ;)  Google California drought

At any rate I hope i just jinxed it and you will bring all the rain we need!

When I am on the coast I do use a B+W clear 007M filter for salt spray/sand protection.

If you are out near/on the ocean at least wipe down/clean your gear each day.  Keep a clean/dry micro fiber cloth in your bag for occasional wipe downs if you are worried about it (don't keep it in your pants pocket as lint will be on the cloth and you'll eventually just sprinkle fine dust all over your gear)

a bent door will surely not make the camera water resistant.

but you’ve written 3 negative posts one after another ( the first three on this forum) about your camera, is there anything you like about it at all?

Concentrate on the positive and the guarantee and the friendly advise of others will take care of the negatives. In the end this might not be the camera for you, there are so many other cameras.

Good Luck. Enjoy.

Life is too short for complaints and problems will happen.

Milandro - I like a lot, and I heavily invested in this system. Thing is - I started looking for others that would confirm I was not the only one with above problems - so I ended up writing those comments. I surely will add smth positive at the right time with the right topic as I shoot lots of really fine pictures with this model.

My xt1 was just caught in the rain! Got home took card out went to dry everything and found the SD card soaked!!! After a few mins in the rain!!! 15 years with my canon 5d's and never had this!! Now my xt1 won't turn on and it's stripped and drying in the airing cupboard! Weather sealed Fuji???? Really??? Meant to take it to Iceland next month but I'll be taking my canon instead!!! That's if the Fuji ever works again!!! Not happy!!

Hmm... sorry to burst your bubble but the manual did specify to not use it under rain. Also, if the SD card was soaked, you clearly did not protect the camera under your jacket or anything to cover it and just it out to take all the water.

This camera ain't a Pentax where you could wash it under a shower...
