Fuji X-T3 SS (Shutter Shift) Keeps Overriding Manual Shutter Speed Settings

Hello,

We have an ongoing problem where, we set the camera to manual mode.

We set the shutter speed using the dial.

However, the camera decides to override our manual setting, and the SS mode (shutter shift), changes our manual shutter speed.

For instance, if we manually set the shutter to 500, the shutter shift will automatically change the shutter speed to 125. 

This is ruining all of our shots, where there is any kind of movement.

How can we stop the SS mode from taking over?

For completeness sake, there are several things to double check:

The front and / or rear dial(s) are not set to change the shutter speed, and you are not accidentally moving them.

The Menu Lock Setting is not turned on, menu > wrench > button / dial > lock, this can override the button.

The menu options for min / max shutter speed setting are not set too narrow.

The button itself may be broken, it will take a trip to your dealer to get this repaired.

I wish there were other options to check, but it sounds like the button is broken.

The SS mode overrides the dial settings.

There must be a way to disable this "feature".

The X-T3 does have program shift, but does not have Shutter Shift.

I had a similar experience with my X-T4, switching off D-range priority fixed it for me.

Hello, Thank you for the response.

This is the first thing we checked. The d-range is turned off.

The only work-around we have been able to find, is to set the shutter dial to T and use the thumb botton/dial on the back of the camera.

We have even reset the camera to default settings, but it is still being a problem.
