  1. Something is seriously wrong with your copy. I own the 23mm f1.4 and it is tack sharp wide open. Looks like moist or something is inside the glass of your lens.
  2. Thanks @flysurfer. Great shots. Lens looks promising indeed.
  3. Yeah, the GFX is the center of attention right now. Being a professional tool as it is, unlike e.g. the X-T or X-Pro cameras, which are for both pros and amateurs, I think we will soon be back on the right rumor track with more stuff about the cameras and lenses that most people can afford. But, I find it rather disturbing how much the different Fujifilm blogs and sites seem like an extended branch of Fujifilm's marketing department.
  4. Sorry, I just twisted a Star Wars quote :-) Nothing disturbing about it. Just interested in e.g. the kens chromatic aberation, distortion (or lack thereof), close focusing sharpness wide open (I know the 23mm lacks in that department). But guess you are right. The lens is probably being testet at lenstip, imaging-resource and the like right now.
  5. Usually the net is filled to the brim with reviews or previews this close to release. I have found four reviews, thats all. They are Palle Schultz', Jonas Rask's, Big Head Taco's and Bjørn Moerman's. None of them are scientific. No measurements. Are there other reviews out there?
  6. Never mind the grain. How can you get closest to the look of Acros by adjusting settings in the x-t1? I'm thinking sooc jpegs without the use of e.g. Lightroom.
  7. Exactly. I got mine really cheap. I believe they will complement each other very well.
  8. Yeah, I also like the feel of the x-pro 1 better, but the improved AF has resulted in actually getting shots of my kids playing. I always gave up with the x-pro 1. Also I never use the OVF.
  9. So, I have now used my "new" x-t1 for a couple of days, and wow!, I am impressed. I have tried the EVF before in a store, but damn, that thing is still huge. The auto focus blows the x-pro 1 out of the water, no surprises there, but I am actually quite impressed by it on its own. In S mode it is really really fast and accurate (also in low light). E.g. it has none of the back focus issues I have encountered while trying the x-pro 2, and frankly I don't see any need to upgrade to the x-t2 any time soon in need of faster AF. And yes, 16Mp is perfectly adequate. The only negative side to the camera is the well known d-pad buttons which, even on the graphite model with click feedback, are far to recessed. Still useable, but my fingers fumble to find the buttons. Also the face detection is not exactly lightning fast, but I guess it will be perfectly fine with eye detection enabled for portraits in good lightning. Overall I am extremely happy with the x-t1 as I got it dirt cheap in mint condition and find it to be a great camera even though it is considered old in the digital age. The user before me had it for only 14 days, going for the x-t2 instead, but looking at his settings (high performance off) I am not sure he saw the cameras full potential before deciding to upgrade so fast :-)
  10. Thanks. Just bought a used silver x-t1. Will get it next week. Can't wait.
  11. I never use the OVF. Don't much like the size of the x-20. Just too small for my hands.
  12. There are a lot of exellent condition used x-t1 around right now, so I am thinking of upgrading from my x-pro 1, as I think the new x-cameras are to expensive. My question is, will I feel any noticable speed differences between the two models? Is it worth an upgrade? I can get a mint condition x-t1 graphite silver for 670 euro. Go for it?
  13. If fixable by firmware I believe Fujifilm would have done so.
  14. According to this guys examples, waxy skin is no longer as bad in high iso jpegs as with x-trans II, but it is still very much there.
  15. Really? Are the SOOC x-trans 3 images really that bad?
  16. People keep posting images at iso 6400 in well lit situations. We are talking about the high iso performance in LOW lit situations. You get a completely different result then. Losing details, increased smudging, less saturation.
  17. Worthless? Maybe! But given Fujifilms track record of Kaizen updates I am confident they will make the joysticks behavior and sensitivity user adjustable in the near future. They honor themselves in having satisfied customers.
  18. Is the OVF brighter in pro 2 than in the old pro 1? I find the pro 1's OVF to dark at night whereas the EVF is much brighter. Almost like night vision
  19. Yes, it must be nice to have the ability to charge with an usb charger, but whether I have to bring spare batteries or a usb charger is much the same to me.
  20. So the x pro 2 having tft and xt 2 oled has nothing to do with the quality differences people rave about between the two cameras - besides the larger magnification on xt2?
  21. @flesix Great shots. Illustrates the waxy skin on x trans 2 expertly. It is beyond me why some still can't see the issue.
  22. Didn't know about isoless to 1600 on x trans 1 & 2, but that explains why my x-pro 1 looks best from iso1600 and below.
  23. I noticed that besides the smaller magnification of the EVF in x pro 2 vs x-t2, there is also the matter of the EVF being TFT in x pro 2 and OLED in x-t2. But what is really the difference between the two, quality wise. I assume OLED is the best quality being a newer technology, but am I right to assume that?
  24. Funny, how things turn out only a few of months after release where features like the joystick was highly praised. Now both the x pro 2 and x t2 seem to suck in sooo many ways :-) Guess the moral is: never buy a newly released model till after a couple of months when the frenzy has cooled down and real life experience start to show its ugly head :-) Guess I will stick with my excellent x pro 1 ;-)
