actually, you just got some update, albeit probably just a technical one .
Patrick says there is also some AF improvement but Fuji speaks of a technical support for new lenses
I think the AF update is strictly the focus limiting feature for the 100-400. Feature wise, nothing new is coming anymore for the X-Pro1. But I knew that when I bought it.

I have a good experience with Hähnel batteries. For Canon, my preferred brand was Duracell, but they seem not to have batteries for the Fuji X-series yet.I stick with official Fuji batteries (despite the impressive high price) for my X-E2. I tried a couple of other brands available in the US and the best ones disappointed while the worst totally suck. I've read that Pantona batteries are very good but they are not available in the US.

I don't even know what 4K does, and I love my Fuji cameras. If I would want to shoot video, I would buy a video camera.1080p is yesterday's technology. Would they really build an updated model without 4K? ...even the phones have 4K now.
I guess I am not alone in not desiring video, or other (to me) gimmicks, in my camera. As long as Fuji builds great photo cameras, I am happy with them.
But I probably would not buy a X-T camera anyway; I would miss the OVF.

You're talking about ice hockey, I guess? With hockey, the light normally wouldn't be a problem, I'd say.

Would the X-T2 solve that, since the X-Pro2 more or less seems designed with prime users in mind?

True, but unless you always want to shoot wide open, even 1600 ISO is a bit limiting. Especially indoors.

If that would give me the quality I want, that would be great.Does that mean you only have a smartphone with a Fuji logo sticker slapped on it in your bag ?
But it doesn't, so when I take something more than a smartphone, I usually limit myself to a X-Pro1 with one lens, and two spare batteries.
I do use my smartphone quite a lot though. The best camera is the one you have with you.

Simple answer for me; as little as possible.

I have a X-Pro1, but I use the OVF 80% of the time, I guess. The optical VF is the whole point of the X-Pro line, I think.
I also use the X-Pro1 with suitable primes only. If you want to use zooms, or primes that don't work with the OVF, you ought to be using an X-E or X-T anyway, in my opinion.

Thanks ... I wanted to show the strong backlight, and make the boat and windmill a bit "silhouette-like".Since the boat is the star of the photo, I would open the shadows on it and maybe darken the sky too.

There's a whole multi-page discussion on this topic on the "other" forum.

Joost, I personally love the Cambridge in Colour tutorials. Here's one on the use of histograms: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/histograms1.htm

What's your question? Reading the histogram, or getting it displayed?

My question was already answered earlier in the thread.

The Pro1 was superior to the X-E1, a upper line. Also to X-E2.
I don't think the X-Pro1 was superior to the X-E2. It's different, due to the OVF, and the omission of a built-in flash. However, if you don't care about the optical viewfinder, the X-E2 would be a great camera. The price has come down to a reasonable level as well.

I think that I look at it differently; I'd rather buy a camera, and not a promise of future firmware updates.Yes, the x100t is by far the best of the three x100 cameras, and I like it a lot, but one of the reasons I sold all my Nikon gear and went with Fujifilm, was the attraction of Kaizen, and so far I haven't seen any of it :-)
My X-E1 also doesn't get firmware updates. That's fine with me; I like the camera as it is.

Mine is well made and has an aperture ring so one can set the correct aperture.
Does that really work? Without introducing a lot of vignetting?
