  1. I'd love either, but if it was one or other, it would be the T2 Assuming the 4K video is usable Optional battery/power grip unfortunately in reality I can't afford either
  2. Not from Fujifilm. Fujifilms 1.4X and 2X teleconverters only work with the XF50-140 F/2.8 and XF100-400 F/4.5 - 5.6
  3. XT1 and XT10 are basically the same camera but for a few differences no weather resistance slower sd card maximum write speed smaller buffer (less continuous photos) smaller viewfinder no iso dial iso can be assigned to one of the function buttons, to avoid menus. for the other differences, you'll have to decide if they are worth the extra money or not. Depending on your location you may be able to hire the xf100-400 for your trip, also the XC 50-230 is generally pretty cheap 2nd hand, there are loads of examples from that lens on this forum
  4. You might find neither lens is long enough, I've never been on a safari but a family member goes on safari in Uganda a few times a year, he took an x-pro1 with XC50-230 lens and the X-S1 bridge camera until recently when he purchased the XF100-400 and 1.4TC. Which has now retired the X-S1 Most of the time he shoots at the maximum focal length, he advised you can't physically get that close to the animals (and for safety I guess for some of them you wouldn't want to)
  5. Sorry if already posted elsewhere, but noticed this on Fuji uk site https://fuji-promotions.com/gb/en/pages/cb-0616/qualifying I think it includes every XF lens (up to £120) , and double cash back with purchase of X-Pro2, XT1 or XE2s body
  6. On the xt10 if I set shutter speed to 180X (250X on xp2), this disables the 1/3 stop adjustments on the front dial. The other option is to swap the functions of the front and rear dials As I don't own XP2 I can only comment from how I worked around the issue in the studio with the xt10
  7. but will it work with Fuji-x cameras? I can't find confirmation anywhere (Then again I can't find confirmation that the SP1 supports Fuji-x on the SP1 page, you can on the cameras pages though )
  8. Higher capacity is always welcome; however, switching off high performance mode seems to add 100 extra photos to my XT-10's life.
  9. In P mode the front and rear dials both do the same thing, alter both SS and Aperture to maintain metered exposure. The only lenses where the rear dial can be used to change Aperture (in other modes) are the XF27, the two XC zooms
  10. the options are there when using other mounts, what difference it makes, I do not know.
  11. tbh, i've never tried, as last time i used the remote control app, it would only take jpeg images
  12. The XF100-400 seems to perform very well, did you shoot hand held, or tripod mounted? I had a play with the lens handheld and found the weight hard to handhold and make adjustments
  13. nice
  14. For a visual studies project, I took a studio portrait shoot with XF60 F/2.4 and XT-10, then printed out the image twice once as a positive, and once as a negative image on acetate. I then created a mixture of images, either in the darkroom, in Photoshop, or both (and a cyanotype, and lumen print as well) https://flic.kr/s/aHskCD8iX8
  15. tests yesterday were in S and zone
  16. Lexar Pro 150MB/s (faster than camera supports)
  17. I have just tested the CH mode, I do not use it often (or almost ever), I did play with it once when trying to get a flying bird; however, previously with Raw or Raw+Fine, the camera would take 7-8 images before it stopped. I have just tested both RAW and RAW+Fine and it stops after 5 images, then what feels like a second later it takes the 6th. In fine jpeg only mode it takes around 20 before slowing down It is not a major concern to me, but it is annoying if I ever needed to shoot more than 5 frames continuously in CH CL jpg is unlimited (or feels that way still) CL mode in RAW fills buffer after 11 photos Sinlge shot mode, does not involve any lag saving the file as far as i can tell This is still more than Fuji specs, which say @ 8FPS JPEG approx. 8 frames @ 3FPS JPEG until card is full Either it is a couple of photos worse than before or I remember it wrong, like i said it aint a mode i use a lot
  18. shooting in full manual with xf35 F/1.4 underexposed i did not notice any difference in evf brightness while getting focus, (was not in sunshine) I'd hazard a guess if you are letting camera control shutter, and iso it is probably adjusting one or other when you half press
  19. in the uk this week we're lacking sunny days, I'll test tomorrow (assuming i remember) on my xt-10 with latest firmware, see if i notice anything different edit if you can please post other settings? such as are you shooting in manual exposure, aperture priority, shutter priority, etc Then I can try and replicate the issue thanks
  20. There could well be an issue with the firmware in certain situations. Unfortunately we do not have data from every XT-10 owner who has completed the update. As of yet no-one else hear has reported the issue as the issue went away after removing and replacing the battery, I would tend to think it was a local issue perhaps the battery was not seated properly and not enough voltage was reaching the SD cards or something In the FAQ it recommends removing and re-inserting battery to fix temporary camera faults; I have not done the research, but perhaps removing the battery triggers a hard reset/restart in the camera I hope it does not happen again for you, but if it does keep a record, as it could be a more serious fault specifically to your camera
  21. unfortunately the XT-10 can not use rear dial to change aperture for lenses with aperture ring, no amount of trying will make it work (tested 18, 35 F/1.4, and 60) camera set to Full manual exposure. Also plenty of testing was conducted previously see old thread. TBH I don't know why you would want to use rear dial and not aperture ring?
  22. I believe this is a miss print in the book, my xt-10 will not alter aperture using the command dial, unless using an XC lens, or the XF28 F/2.8 (unless in P mode where the front and rear dial operate as the same) Setting the Lenses Aperture ring to A does not enable the rear dial. *edit* you my find this useful http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/2485-change-shutter-aperture-with-dials/
  23. The way a darkroom print looks is something that is hard to replicate on a inkjet printer. I recently spent several hours in the darkroom, playing with selective development; I did not use film I inverted the portrait I wanted to use, and printed to an acetate, then placed the acetate on a piece of light sensitive paper and exposed to light (using enlarger). Using a paintbrush I applied developer to the part of the image I wanted to develop, then stopped, fixed, washed. Could I have done the same thing in photoshop? maybe, using masks etc. and it would have been quicker/easier, but not as fun and would not look the same. Back on topic, although I enjoy using a darkroom for black and white work. I don't enjoy using film, using a digital camera guarantees you have a useable photo, film there is always the risk that the film does not develop correctly and adds considerable cost for 32 photographs. tldr: If you want to play in the darkroom, i'd recommend using your Fuji-x camera, and printing to an acetate
  24. just updated my XT10 mine worked fine, no issues with sd card, or taking photos
