    I would certainly think so.
    The "old" X-Pro1 has the choice of 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1.
    The frame lines in the ovf/evf and lcd all take on the aspect ratio you choose. The raw files still remain full format, 3:2.

    Just be sure to install the firmware updates for body and lenses.
    With these, it's a very different camera from that of the first reviews.

    Did you hold the display button down while turning the camera on to check which firmware is actually installed?
     
    Also, check that you are installing into body firmware and not lens firmware.

    Why complicating the things with some pc software? Format the card in camera. As I said, it prepares the card in the right way. I see no point in further discussion...

    At the risk of repeating myself, from the Fuji manual:
     
    "Format memory cards before use, and be sure to reformat all memory cards after using them in a computer or other device."

    The whole point of buying X-Pro1 for me was hybrid OVF, and only then the X-Trans sensor.
    So no, I won't buy X-Pro 2 without OVF.
