I'm a tad on the fence to buying the X-T2. I have the means to buy it, but I'm thinking if it might just be overkill for me I'm a hobby photographer, I only take pics for myself and my family & friends who enjoys my photo through instagram and facebook. I also print some. You can see some of my stuff here to get an idea https://500px.com/filiphermelin I currently have the X-Pro1 which have terrific image quality. Haven't printed out bigger than A4 size so the resolution hasn't been an issue for me as of yet. However, the AF is too slow. I rarely get a sharp pic in focus when I shot my 4 year old kid running towards me. I expect the X-T2 to be on par with my previous Canon 70D in AF speed and accuracy.

Nice shots. Surprised that you find it focus faster than the 56 as everyone claims its so slow. I can live with af hunting in bad light (might just use the 35 in bad light anyway).

Way too big of a lens. I would rather go for the 56 in that case

Well I ended up finally selling the 18 f/2 and got the 35 f/2. I will get the 18-55 with the x-t2 once released. Figure I use the zoom as a travel lens and maybe even capture "action shots" of my kid running and so on. The 35 is my low light lens and also suitable for candid shots. Now I'm starting to lean towards the 60 again as I'm thinking the 50 f/2 will be too close in focal length to the 35 and also when I already have the 18-55 it feels a bit unnecessary. The 60 is a tad longer and has macro which will make it more different than the 50 compared to the 18-55 and 35. Does this make sense? ☺

X-pro1 + 35 f/2. Shot in JPEG, Bumped up the exp and shadows slightly in LR. Such beautiful IQ from this old camera

When I switched back to the FUJI system again (used to have a x100s 3 years ago) recently from Canon, one of the main reason was portability and discretion. To really maximize this idea primes is the way to go. I only have the 18 f/2 so far, but I'm gonna get the 35 f/2 and probably the upcoming new 50 f/2. HOWEVER. The 18-55 is very tempting as I heard so much great things about it and it would be a terrific travel companion. I've actually been trying to get the 18 f/2 sold and get the 18-55 which is sold cheaply as a kit with the new X-T2. But since I can't get the 18 f/2 sold for a reasonable price I'll might just stick with. I guess I could have both the 18-55 and 18 f/2. I can afford it but not sure I can justify it

out = not Couldn't find how to edit titles. First of, I'm a jpeg shooter for now. I use sharp +1 in JPEG and on my screen they look very sharp. However when printing out on about 10 x 15 they look more like -1 on sharpness, not that sharp at all compared to how it looks on the computer. Should I edit my printer setting (using a Canon 7550) or do +2 in jpeg, or perhaps just add sharpness on JPEG in post? Lightroom lets you export as printing for printingpaper, low, medium or high, but not sure how well that works with JPEGs which is already sharpemed in camera.

Which software works well with X-TRANS III sensors?

Seems like it's still a problem with details as someone pointed out on RICO's review "Did anyone else notice that objects in the distance look like a painting," Fullsize-> https://www.flickr.com/photos/ricopfirstinger/27506181383/sizes/o/ Is the problem still there if I would postprocess a JPEG instead of of a RAW file in LR? -
Really enjoy my 18 f/2. Went out for birthday dinner with my wife tonight and brought my x-pro1 + 18 f/2, and the small size really makes a difference. It doesn't bring any attention and it's a good focal lenght for indoors and produce beautiful images (both sooc, shot at f/2). Not sure if I would've brought the cam if I only had the 18-55 instead.

Thanks for testing

You have a point there .The 18 has wider aperture, is more compact and discreet (which I value a lot) but has better macro capabilities. The 18-55 seems great and I want it but I don't think I can justify having both lenses though. I never had more than 3 lenses which usual enough for the kind of stuff I shot ( I have my 18 f/2 out now for sell but haven't had much feedback (I live in sweden).

I already have the 18 f/2 which would kinda make it obsolete with the 18-55. Guess I have to sell it.

I got the X-Pro1 now but I am waiting for the X-T2 to get released. Thinking of getting the 60 f/2.4 but I'm a bit worried about the slow AF I've been reading about. I do want to be able to take some shots of my 4 year old running around in continues af. How fast is the 60 f/2.4 focus on the X-PRO2? I Guess that can give a hint on how fast it will focus (the least) on the new X-T2. There's also the new 50 f/2 on the horizon, which I guess will not be more expensive than the 60. DOF will probably be about the same and I expect the AF speed might be faster. The 56 f/1.2 is out of my budget.

Which software works well with X-TRANS III sensors?

I've been using Lightroom for several years when I used Canon so I guess I can stick with that? I just heard that Lightroom loses a lot of details on the fuji raw files. But maybe that's not true anymore with later versions of Lightroom? -
I currently got the 18 f/2 and plan to add 35 f/2 & 56 f/1.2 (or wait for the 50 f/2). Haven't decided. Never had more than a f/1.8 lens and f/1.2 sounds like a lot of fun but the 50 f/2 is probably half the price and half the size.

Adobe Lightroom has a bad rep for X-TRANS raws, or is it fine now with current version? if not, what software do you recommend?

One of recent favorite shots of my kid with the 18 f/2

Will the x-t2 likely be bundled with the 18-55 f/2.8-4?
