Capture One and X-pro2, no lens correction possible (raw files)
Dis replied to Qub's topic in RAW Conversion Fuji X Photos
Well not all F-X-F members are X-PRO2 users. You can consider C1 not supporting X-Trans III. But it's still great for older cameras. Even though it lacks Film Simulations, you can find sample icc profiles on the forum. I've corrected them a bit for my taste and have totally abandoned LR. C1 processes RAFs sharper. C1 is far more customizable, has far more advanced color tools.- 19 replies

Ken Rockwell is unimpressed

As always it's worth to upgrade to a direct replacement model only if you're a working photographer who uses camera every day or you have extra money. -

You can buy relatively cheap x-e2s for that. -

KR is quite successful blogger. Thus he is not an idiot by any means. Nevertheless in order to synthesize not an idiotic advice from his article, you already have to know a lot, which makes the advice quite useless. There are lot's of correct, wrong and exaggerated info on the website so one has to sort very carefully. -

X-pro2 launch, keep or sell your x-pro1?

Patrick, any info about OVF magnifications?

You've confused Fuji with Leica... or Pentax LOL
-
What do you think about the combined dial operation? I see no second lewer. Only the lock button is present in case this is the lock button. As I understand, Pentax Spotmatic had a thin external ring around the dial. In bottom position is was coupled with the shutter dial and in top position - the ISO scale. Unfortunately the leaked X-PRO2 images have too small resolution to see weather the external ring is present.

I guess this only works if instant AF method is set to AF-S

This small post is much more easy to understand than Fuji manual. Could you please also explain point 2: instant AF setting in manual focus.
-
Unfortunately there is no single new word here for these points. The explanation is the copy of the FW description.

Can't see what some points do. 2. Instant AF Setting in manual focus 5. Additional Custom Display options: Information background

Where is Rico and his "must read" FW 4.2 review?
-
Hey, folks. What do you think the Dual IS mode means in 5?

Don't buy lenses because people tell you to. Get them when you feel the lack of the sertain lenses during shooting.

I doubt that RAW restriction really makes sense. What can one correct in RAW and cannot correct in JPEG to lie in the image? RAW just gives the ability to achieve optimal image quality and that's all. The most powerful instrument to correct the image is crop. That's why Magnum photographers have a credo not to use cropping. But Reuters permit to use cropping. I can't get this. Using in camera JPEGs can really speed you up. But when you make news you try to speed up anyway so news agency doesn't need to control this part. It's photographer's choice to make faster or to make better. If I were a news photographer I would shoot RAW+JPEG in order to have backup and the ability to upload pictures immediately via wi-fi at the same time.
