  1. the way I see it , T-Man has just made a downpayment, the shop has probably no idea on the final price and will charge whatever the price will be when the camera is announced and when it will be available. A discrepancy of $200 is a very serious one. Someone is obviously not right. FR is usually accurate.
  2. not calling you a liar.....never said that or implied that, you just paid an amount, a downpayment upfront, against an amount which would have to be verified against the real price when the camera is launched and then becomes available. I don’t know any other story about the ibelux. It might surprise you but I am not following all your threads. “ .......Europe: the price should be around €1,699-1,799. Please note that the price in Europe can have some variations according to the different coutries. Overall I expect it to be more towards €1,799. USA: It should cost between $1,799-1,899. However, fellow X-shooter T-Man pre-ordered an X-Pro2 at his local store and said that his receipt shows only $1,699. For more details you better ask T-man directly here......"
  3. wide bracket, places this in another quantum universe than the one I live in
  4. Hhg? Jjh! sent while sitting at home, from my trusted desktop computer whose brand and operative system is none of your business
  5. Forecasting something precise on the base of predictions is an extreme form of paranormal perception, perhaps induced by hallucinating substances?
  6. hallucinating
  7. happy to have been of service to you. It’s harmless cheap fun to use them I still have to use the tilt adapter for a serious project though.
  8. The use of the adjective “ tasteful” as applied to fashion is a matter of... personal taste perhaps you prefer a more conventional and perhaps contrived Hermes camera? Something tells me that this indispensable fashion statement will convince many Leica users After all Stella McCartney has designed a camera bag too....... it was only $1,235!
  9. certainly. In the arch of the eybrow you can clearly see that the the proximal ( to the camera) portion of the eyebrow is sharper than the distal one.
  10. well, for a number of reason I prefer to use large bags, one is certainly because I don’t want to stack up lenses. I can see though why you could do that.
  11. the lens has great performance and of course the image rendering at full aperture ( what’s now known as “ bokeh”) is very much heightened at close distance. The Helios is also very interesting for its swirly rendition of mostly the highlights, not so noticeable if the picture hasn’t got those. I have one too
  12. be careful when you pick up heavy lenses glued like this then. the weight of a 90mm would certainly strain things. I can’t understand why would people want to do that but it takes all sorts
  13. so what’s the difference with the X-E2 + firmware update? can you sum it up Patrick?
  14. that you need to buy yourself, careful of the kind of statement that you may make with it. By the way, it is a beret not a cap.
  15. I haven’t found, yet, a situation in which I had to use the gorilla pod but I haven’t done much traveling lately. When traveling you have basically two philosophies clashing. One is, take everything you MAY need and the other is take the bare essentials and make do with what you have. So you have those with heavy backpacks loaded with all the things that one may or may not use and a heavy tripod and the others with various degrees of bare essentials. I am afraid that I belong to the “ others”. ^ Nice example of the typical use of a gorillapod.
  16. yes they will provide you with one of these ( as an accessory you may add polarizer filters to get rid of the reflection on the LCD ) [edit: Removed image because of copyright violation]
  17. well, Swarovski has done worse things Besides, Fashion Designers have already started doing things like these to which the youth of LOMO-philes started replying with these
  18. tripod and 1/160 to 1/180 are enough to secure steady shots. Those fuji 56mm pics aren’t sharp.
  19. cheers, this things happen, people in similar situations shoot pictures that are similar. I actually prefer your picture. Well done.
  20. Despite owning a gorillapod I only have it “ just in case” and I’ve yet to use it for anything. I doubt it would ever be anything else that that. I own a Manfrotto 190 SHB with a Beike arca compatible ballhead, and that would be my lightweight tripod for general purposes. The other sturdier tripod I have has seen very little use and mostly in the studio and it is a wooden Hama Omega Pro L26 made by Berlebach which I am now selling http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/classifieds/item/84-hama-omega-pro-l26-ash-wood-tripod-made-by-berlebach/
  21. Exactly, I remember an exhibition of Cartier-Bresson in London with prints where one could see all the retouching done by Gassman. Very interesting indeed.
  22. I have always found a very sobering and refreshing experience to see, first hand, real prints of famous photographs shot by famous photographers. Most, I have found several times, were less than perfect but great pictures nonetheless. There are many ways to skin a cat.
  23. the PM I just received says a lot more and uses improper language. I am done with you.
  24. Of course, first, throw the stone and then hide the hand. Here^ you suggested that Erez had to thank McCurry for his picture implying that he was less than original in his shot. I suggest that it was his picture, proudly published by him in his thread, which, to me, means that this is his party, and that’s that. Let’s appreciate it and rejoice with him. Carry on, the party is there, I’ll mingle with others. No point in hanging around with each other. There is space for all, have another whisky, sour of course. It’s on me.
  25. I know Mc Curry’s pics. Can’t we simply appreciate Erez's photograph while not spoiling his party?
