I finde the lack of 50mm f2 reviews disturbing

maybe learnt maybe not. This is a few months old WR!!! lens with a speck inside that appeared recently.

it is not the first time that we’ve heard that fuji lenses in general (and WR too) have stuff inside that shouldn’t be there.

 

My first 10-24 had black  “ stuff” ( for lack of a better word) in , luckily the shop changed it for another one.

By this point in time, I personally trust Fuji when it comes to making lenses. Reviews are great, but usage is the best way to see if a lens meets your needs. I have no doubt this will be a great lens. Fuji has been making lenses for a very, very long time.

Mine is due in next week and I look forward to adding it to my kit. I've found the other two F2 WR lenes to be quite nice and a part of my daily carry. If I can afford it, I hope to also add the 90 and an 18 to fill out the full F2 lin (although it's probably a bit of overkill).

well, if you add the 18 to this triad of lightweight lenses your will be in for a bit of a shock when you handle the 90mm.

I wrote a quick first impressions article. No scientific bookshelf photos.

 

Lens is sharp, no wide open close focus issues, handles just like the other tapered f2 lenses.

 

I think the lack of reviews comes from being overshadowed by GFX, XT20, X100F. It's also probably not going to be a hugely popular lens like the 23 or 35 were.

I have already seen plenty of positive comments and nice sample images from users in the sister X forum. Some markets are usually earlier than others, so that's certainly a possibility.
