Took an X-Pro2 and a couple of lenses to the TT in June this year, to catch some of the action.
Only had the 35 mm f2 and 50m f2 lenses. But the bikes can pass very close, and the idea was to get some of the location in the shots, otherwise it is just pictures of bikes that could be almost anywhere.
The other thing is to get photos of certain riders, and they do not come past very often. And because it is a staggered start race against the clock, the leader could be in position 5 on the road.
Overall I got my shots, but there were not hundreds of them. The biggest fail was the camera focused on some tall grass stalks that I did not even notice at the time, and a whole series of shots were wasted.
But it worked ok.
