Hi all,

As a Canon user, I'm only somewhat familiar with the X system and with the plethora of bodies and their successors, I'm fairly confused about the differences and benefits of one vs the other. I'm curious to know if there is a spreadsheet-like chart which compares the various bodies and their features anywhere.  I've looked around but, not knowing the most popular sites (FujiFilm.com, FujiRumors, Google Search, etc), I've come up mostly empty-handed for what I assume IS, in fact, something that exists.  DPR's tool is fairly good, but it's spec-only, and doesn't list any "benefits" to one feature over another without diving into reviews (which defeats the purpose of a quick comparison, for me at least).  Any suggestions?

If this is something that's not available anywhere, I think it would be REALLY smart of someone to implement such a chart and especially if the user could define 2 or more (up to all) of the bodies and get such a chart.

Thanks for any insight/direction!

Jonathan

I usually go on the B&H site and select the little comparison boxes on the "Body Only" cameras and compare that way.  I believe you can compare up to 4 at a time that way.  Many are very similar such as the XT-1 and XT-10.  I find this has helped me make my decisions quite often about choice of camera or lens

  • 2 weeks later...

On the used Market how is $1,100 for the xt-1 and 35 f/1.4?

Not bad, if they are in like-new condition, but not great.

As a comparison, I got my used graphite XT-1, 18-55, and 55-200 in excellent condition for $1200 earlier this year.

It was a steal, I think, so may not be a fair comparison, but the deals are out there if you are patient, especially with the XT-2 coming out soon.

Here's my (slightly personal) table:

X-Pro 1 and 2 - Too big

X-T1 and 2 - mock prism is a bit too much, too many knobs and dials, too heavy

X-E2  Just right

X-E1  Too slow

X-M1 No viewfinder

X-A1 and 2 Girls camera

X 100 Lens is stuck on with glue or something

Can you guess what body I use?  :D
