How to avoid exposition memorization when pressing the trigger half way?

Hello,

 

I've finally switched to a Fuji this week-end and bought an Xpro . It's is a really great camera but, coming from Nikon, I am used to have a trigger that only memorize the focus and not the exposition when you press it half way. I've searched for hours how to do it with my Xpro 2 but haven't find it. It seems that you can memorize the exposition with the AE-L button only before pressing the trigger and you can lock the focus with the AF-L button and then press the trigger half way to memorize the exposition. But, apparently, you can't only lock the focus (but not the exposition) when just pressing the trigger half way. Am I wrong? Is there a way to change this in the menu?

Depends on the camera one uses. The X-Pro2 can't do it. Yet.

Do you think that's something Fuji will add to Xpro2 through firmware update?

It seems that you can memorize the exposition with the AE-L button only before pressing the trigger ....

 

And when would you want to memorize the exposition with the AE-L button after pressing the trigger halfway? In the shooting menu 4,

setting the AE/AF-LOCK MODE to 'S' (AE & AF ON/OFF SWITCH), you can memorize the exposure pressing the AE-L button and you

can press the trigger halfway to focus as many times you want, and even take a picture, that the exposure will remains fixed until you

press the AE-L button again. I have an X-T1 and I could test it. I don't have an X-PRO2, but its manual said the same thing, so I think

it will work in the same way. I hope this helps!

Quiet so. When I use autofocus mode, not manual, and want the simplest effect of setting exposure I use spot metering,

get the exposure I want by moving the focus point around the composition, hit the AE Lock button, compose, and fire the shutter.
