  1. FUJI X100V FIRMWARE UPGRADE: I downloaded the new X100V firmware, Version 1.1. I can not open the file to move it to my memory card and install the software on my camera. I am using a MacBook Air and have tried to open the file in both Safari and Chrome. Is anyone else encountering a problem in upgrading this software? Thanks.
  2. Thank you, Doug. I appreciate it. Harry
  3. I have some old Nikkor, manual focus AIS lenses that I use regularly on my X-Pro 2 with the NK-FX adapters. I'm thinking of getting an extension tube for the 50MM f/1.4 to try some macro work. My questions: 1. Does the adapter itself affect the images that would be created? 2. Is there any way to calculate the size in millimeters of a tube that would bring the image at, or as close as possible, to a 1:1 ratio? Thank you; any help will be appreciated.
  4. Quiet so. When I use autofocus mode, not manual, and want the simplest effect of setting exposure I use spot metering, get the exposure I want by moving the focus point around the composition, hit the AE Lock button, compose, and fire the shutter.
  5. One can always get on www.dofmaster.com and put in the variables and hit "calculate". For given apertures and distance to focus, one gets the DOF. Then compare the limits of acceptable focus it to what is in the scale in the viewfinder.
  6. I received my XP2 over 2 weeks ago and have had no problems at all. I installed the 1.10 version of the firmware anyway and the process went smoothly. I hope this fixes the problems that others have had.
  7. The stocking status of the X Pro 2 at B&H has changed to "In stock - shipping only".
  8. OK, thanks, Adam I'll do that henceforth and see what happens. I usually shoot using manual mode on the Nissin. I have guide numbers in my head to do some quick calculating with the flash zoom setting, distance of the flash to the subject, and aperture. But there are occasions when life is simpler using TTL.
  9. Andreas: I am a "photo enthusiast" of 5 years standing who migrated to Fuji from Nikon 3 years ago with an initial purchase of an X-Pro 1 and the 35mm f/1.4 (an X-Pro 2 is on pre-order with B&H). I use the forum to get an all-around idea of what is happening in the Fuji world in particular, and photography more generally. Spying is a foreign concept to me in the context of a camera system's forum. Please keep up the good work.
  10. I have a Nissin i40 that I've used for over one year on my X-pro 1 in manual mostly and TTL mode as well. Now the flash still works in manual mode but fails to fire in TTL mode. Does anyone have any experience of knowledge of this problem? Are there any suggestions on how to fix this without sending the unit out for service.
  11. I agree. It makes no sense to delay shipping X-Pro 2's to Fuji retailers as they are assembled, tested, packaged, and shipped. The delayed shipping date of X-Pro 2's from Fuji in Japan tells me that Fuji is having an issue with obtaining components for the cameras from parts suppliers, or Fuji is still tinkering with the camera to cut down on the number of future firmware updates it will need to issue after sales commence. If the latter is the case, Fuji may be dealing with the law of unintended consequences - making modification "X" to add or better a particular feature, thereby causing an undesired effect "Y" to occur.
  12. I am considering buying this software as a plug in through my copy of Photoshop. Once downloaded, is it immediately available through PS, or must something be done to position it so that it can be accessed when in PS? Thanks for any help.
